Basically fine but won't sail Edge class ship again
"The Rooftop Garden and the Eden bar were lovely and great places to relax.Enjoyed the variety of the four different main dining rooms though the food was uneven...."Read More

Cruise Pros and Cons

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Edge

My wife and I took this 11 day cruise to Aruba with her high school friend and her friend's boyfriend. Pros: the food was excellent, and all the Celebrity staff were friendly and helpful. We particularly liked the Tuscan restaurant and ate there every night of the cruise. We also believed we got a good deal on the cost of the trip and the $400 in free benefits. Cons: the excursion to ...

Love Celebrity; Didn't Love Edge

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Celebrity Edge

After 23 previous cruises, 13 on Celebrity, this was our first post-Covid vacation. We just wanted to get back to cruising so we picked an OK itinerary and a ship that we really wanted to see for the first time. It was nice to get away an we were pleased, as always, with the service and attitude of the officers and crew. The only service glitch was a long delay in getting our luggage. I ...

We'd sailed before on Celebrity Summit, once pre-Covid and once post-Covid, and had a great experience both times. Chose this cruise to see some ports we hadn't seen before and to check out the Edge. Fort Lauderdale was a great place to leave from - plenty of places to stay in close proximity to the port and embarkation was fast and simple. Positives - There are some beautiful public areas on ...

Celebrity Edge - great ship, great entertainment blah food

Picked this cruise for the interesting itinerary. This is our 12th cruise but never been on Celebrity. Was very disappointed by the main dinning rooms(s)food. Worst food by far in main dinning rooms I’ve ever had. Breakfast buffet was good. Lunch buffet was excellent. So one night for dinner since we were not impressed by the main dinning rooms we thought we’d hit the buffet for dinner. Well that ...

Fancier ship than Solstice but lacking in food quality and access unless you are suite class.

I am not a cruise expert but have been on many different ships and lines over 40 years. We went with Celebrity again because we previously had a great experience in Aqua Class on the Solstice, pre-covid. Aqua Class on the Edge was not worth the cost. Firstly, I had reserved a balcony room, like I had on Solstice, but it turned out to only have a large window which could be moved up and down, ...

Disappointing - Let down by poor service & food

This was our 6th Celebrity cruise and our first on Edge. Embarkation in Fort Lauderdale was very efficient and quick. Rooms were ready as soon as we got on the ship (1pm). There were around 2400 passengers on board this 10 night cruise. The ship is beautiful. Very modern and clean. Our room (infinite balcony deck 8) was lovely. Larger bathroom than on other Celebrity ships. There were ...

Suggested by tripfinders, went on this cruise with a friend and had high expectations. Paid extra for Seaview, infinite balcony which did not disappoint. Cabin on floor 6, twin room was very roomy. The infinite balcony we kept the wall screen open at all times. Too noisy to open while another room occupant is sleeping. Lovely to wake up to sea views and sounds. We never sat on balcony so in ...

Luxury cruiser's first cruise on X, on the Edge, solo

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Edge

This was my first Celebrity (X) Cruise. I usually travel on misc. luxury lines, either with DH, solo, or with friends. But I had heard good things about the suite/Retreat option on X, and also that masks are not required on board for pax (other than unvaccinated children), which appealed to me. So to explore options, I booked a short solo scouting recon cruise in a Sky Suite on the Edge on a ...

Ship is beautiful, venues are awful

We had been looking forward to our trip on the edge as loyal celebrity cruisers but I have to say it was not the best. I loved our room and Blu restaurant but there are so few venues and the same 3 groups just kept rotating thru the 3 venues. Gone is the world class bar and the grand lobby bar so the only venues are the martini bar, the club and the Eden. Don't think I'll do the edge again but ...

Cutting edge design, good food (Blu) but very poor communication

We have sailed enough on Celebrity to attain "elite" status and have always enjoyed our experiences. We chose to sail "Edge" because my wife really wants the experience. We traveled with friends (another couple). BTW, Edge is really an adult only ship as there seems little to do for anyone under the age of 18. The ship common areas are unique and well done. The stores on board are all high ...
