Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Splendor

We were booked on this cruise as part of a 3 cruise package, the other two cruises being on Caribbean Princess and Cunard QM2. We knew Carnival had the reputation of being a party ship but we had no idea of how bad the whole week would be. First some good things: the staff are amazing and cannot do enough for you; our cabin was nice, spacious and comfortable; dinner in the Black Pearl was good ...

We chose this 6 day cruise after a hectic 10 days in Orlando, so this was suppose to relax. We paid the extra to get this Scenic Ocean View cabin. When we entered our cabin we were wow’ed by the view directly out of the front of the ship and also the size of the cabin. We also noticed how cold the room was and the whistling sound coming from the ceiling grill as the force of the air from the ...

Cabin 8335 - Splendor Break- not so much

Cabin was under pool/ lido deck tables and chairs, heard scraping movement from 4:00 am, to 12:30 am. The movie by the sea people were noisier than the ones at the pool during the day !!! Our cabin 8335 is directly under this area. DO NOT B OOK this cabin, or ask CARNIVAL to re- insulate the room!! No rest on my FALL BREAK!!! Cabin itself was fine, just the noises above!!! The ship was ...

Embarkation - This was the worst experience of the entire trip. We waited in line for approximately 2 hours in an building that had no air conditioner. It was miserable to say the least. It was not a pleasant start to our vacation. However, the airport (FLL) was very close and we were at the port in less than 10 minutes. Ship - The ship was overall a fun ship to be on. It was a great first ...

This was my husband's first cruise. So I wanted something that was short because I wasn't sure how he would like it. It was my first time leaving my baby (18 months) at home. I just wanted to have a quick trip for us to get away and to turn my husband onto cruising! Mission accomplished. He loved everything about cruising, the ports, the ship. Although I did miss my baby this was a great ...

Hurricane Irma Experience On Carnival

I just returned home to Canada after taking my trip with carnival. Before Irma hit we were supposed to go to Nassau, Half moon Cay, Grand Turk & Amber Cove, but due to Irma we were switched to Cozumel, Honduras & Belize. Even though a lot of people were disappointed it was a fantastic time. The ship was clean and always A LOT to do, the staff was incredible as well. Due to Irma hitting Fort ...

From the time we were dropped off at Port Everglades to the time we were on the ship was less than 2 hours thanks to FTTF. Our cabin steward, Joseph, rocked! Loved running into him in the halls and chatting about his life on and off the ship. Had Gold Pearl early dining. LOVED our wait staff. We couldn't wait to see them each night. Seas were nice and calm so felt no sea sickness thank ...

Terrible food, poor service, and waste of time shows!

As a former NCL favorite, I decided to give Carnival a try because it was cheap, and the cruise planning was only a few months before the sailing date. The two of us, 21 and 22, were excited to explore the Splendor and have a great time, however what we had hoped for wasn't all that grand. The first night on the cruise, the 13th, we sat by the AFT adult pool and enjoyed a drink and the sun ...

This cruise was chosen for two specific reasons: Date and Half Moon Cay. About us: We were a group of 14 celebrating many things and booked through a private TA. Each person in our group had a great time to the point that it is still being discussed. We had first time cruisers to experienced including having sailed Carnival's newest ship in the Med. As a result, we approach cruising with ...

First Cruise - Disappointing

We chose this cruise based on the dates we were available to travel as well as the port convenience. We were highly disappointed in the food and entertainment. The comedians were terrible and simply vulgar. The piano bar pianist was usually drunk and hitting on women and cursing like a sailor. We sat in there for 45 min one night and never heard a song. The onstage performers were lacking ...
