Won't cruise Carnival again

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Conquest

We enjoy going on cruises over the week of Thanksgiving. We found this cruise and thought it would be a good choice for our family. We've never cruised on Carnival before so we thought we would try it. We've decided Carnival is not the cruise line for our family. I recognize that a lot of families were traveling but the cruise was overrun with kids off all ages. Most were not well behaved and were ...

Disappointed

I chose this cruise because it had two ports that I had not yet visited. I was disappointed for the following reasons: 1. The telephone in our cabin did not work. I called guest services, they promised to send someone but never did. 2. The air conditioning did not cool. Colter called someone and claimed it was checked but I couldn't tell the difference. 3. Guest services answered the ...

Disappointing First Cruise

This was my first cruise and I was pretty disappointed start to finish. A couple hours after arrival they literally herd all passengers onto the sides of the boats and line us up 5 rows deep for a mandatory “safety instruction”. It was so hot, we stood there sweating for an hour waiting for all passengers to line up before the instruction could begin. There was an elderly lady in front of us ...

Embarkation - Poor signage leading up to the port. Average embarkation process; nothing too fancy or annoying. Had to wait in the chairs only about 30 minutes before our group # was called. Entertainment - The "big" shows in the main theater were good-to-very good. Saw 3 out of the 4 (skipped the "Soul" show). Best was the rock show followed by the welcome show and lastly the wildly ...

First and last cruise

My first cruise at the age of 44 with our 13 yr old daughter and her friend. I went with an open mind, but in the end it just wasn't for me. Cons: rude passengers (70% of them wouldn't even acknowledge your presence unless they felt you were in their way and they would rudely speak to you); all-you-can-shove buffet mentality (some passengers didn't even bother to drop off their luggage on ...

Wish We Had Picked a Different Cruise Line

The best thing about this cruise was the cabin we stayed in, but the sad part is that you don't really want to spend time in your cabin when you are on a cruise! Our cabin was 6481 at the back of the boat so it had 2 windows and a door to the balcony! The balcony was big enough for 2 chairs/table and a chaise lounge. Sweet cabin! Our boys had their own balcony cabin 4 doors down. This was ...

I have been on 6 cruises - 2 Carnival (this was my 2nd time cruising Carnival), 1 Princess, 1 Celebrity, 1 Norwegian, and 1 Royal Caribbean. I chose this cruise because of the itinerary. I had read many poor reviews on Cruise Critic about the Conquest, but figured that it couldn't be *that* bad - after all, when people leave reviews it's usually to complain. Unfortunately, all of the reviews that ...

We wanted to go on a short cruise for the weekend of July 4th and we found the Carnival Conquest trip going to the Bahamas. I read the reviews online and even though there are quite a few negative ones, I thought that I've never had a bad vacation in my life so it can't possibly happen considering how easy-going my husband and I are. We had an interior cabin which was spacious and pretty good for ...

Wedding Frenzy

We decided to get married on board a carnival cruise ship. The cost of the wedding was affordable, and it seemed exciting that our guests were able to tour the ship before take off. The day arrived of our wedding, our guests were advised to arrive at the cruise port fully dressed for the wedding by 10 AM. Our wedding was scheduled at 1 PM and the Carnival needed to get the wedding guests boarded ...

I am a gold-card member, and this will be the last cruise I take with carnival. Not only did they have an excursion which I waited at the bench in the hot sun for two hours before an employee finally told me "Oh well, it isn't happening, take it with guest services when you get back on the ship." The concierge then refused to refund the money. Remember when all the little snack places were ...
