Dated Understaffed Ship

Went on this cruise as my sister-in-law lives in the area and wanted us to go on another cruse with them. Unfortunately we have really only had marginal to poor success with Princess Cruises. First let me start that we were both gold medallion suite guests as well as having purchased the Premier Package. We arrived at the port at our assigned times yet had a 45 min wait to get into the terminal. ...

We’ve had 18 cruises mostly with Celebrity. We booked Princess for the itinerary and as we were travelling with friends ( there first time) we decided on Caribbean Princess. Did not look at the age of the ship nor read reviews. We’ve always had great holidays with Celebrity (now we use the saying NOT-to fix something that wasn’t broken).. and Celebrity were coming home… NEVER USE PRINCESS ...

Old Ship

The overwhelming impression of this cruise is that the Caribbean Princess is an old tired ship. This was my first Princess cruise and I was disappointed to find that, unlike Celebrity, Princess does not fully refurbish its ships. Instead it focuses on tech (Princess Medallion) which feels like a gimmick. Most of the spaces look about 15-20 years old with dents, peeling wallpaper, and just old ...

Grand Turk was great! The Rest was ... Fine.

We chose this cruise because my husband is a scuba diver and we heard that Grand Turk was an amazing spot to dive. But there are limited cruise lines that sail to Grand Turk and we wanted a more upscale experience than what we'd heard Carnival offers. There was not a dive excursion offered through Princess, so we booked our own. That was all well and good, it worked out just fine. The real ...

Overhyped and Underdelivered

Too many issues starting with: Cabin set up for 2 singles vs the double we booked--had to get steward to rectify. No fruit or champagne waiting in room upon arrival--steward brought 2 glasses 3 hours after we got in our cabin!!! Medallion app messed up some of our dining reservations. Older ship with far fewer amenities vs. what is provided on there 3 newest ships (e.g. lack casual ...

Big disappointment - look elsewhere

Someone below said 'beautiful ship." It may have been when launched, but she is very tired now. She does not come close to being as beautiful as several NCL ships we've sailed. I thought Princess would be a step up from NCL, but that was not the case at all onboard this vessel. I was disappointed in the food quality---particularly the Crown Grill, their specialty restaurant. The breakfast pastries ...

Below average cruise

The Caribbean Princess needs to be remodeled or taken out of service. It is dated and subpar. The pools did not get cleaned with a filter (as standard on land) and by the 3rd day all pools were murky and had a sheen of body oil and sunscreen. The service was good with exceptional staff at the Wheelhouse Bar and Lotus Spa. The cruise was very short staffed but the crew that was present did a ...

Disappointing

This ship is filled to capacity & it’s clear they are under staffed. Tables are not cleared & reset in the buffet & outdoor eateries. Princess still serves a condensed, liquid coffee that is mixed with hot water, so basically it’s instant coffee. Fresh brewed is only available for purchase In Coffee & Cones or International Cafe. Every other cruise line (Celebrity, Holland America, Royal ...

So many good things, but far too many bad things

It's probably been about 20 years since I've taken a Princess Cruise, so I had a lot to review on this cruise. The first thing is that all Princess Cruises Ships now use the Medallion instead of a cabin key card and that process works well. As soon as you get close to your door, you can hear it unlock and it allows you easy entry. The Medallion Class app that is downloaded on your cell phone is a ...

We choose. this cruise because of the price, we had been on the Princess in November 2021 and on Holland America in February 2022 and felt very secured in not getting COVID 19 everyone was required to wear masks when indoors, ,and you had to be fully vaccinated. So when we saw the price for this cruise we decided to take it.This cruise you had to be fully vaccinated but where not required to wear ...
