We have always booked exclusively for itinerary and not the ship, but now we are going to change that to both. The itinerary was Princess Cays, St. Thomas, Dominica, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, Guadeloupe, and Antigua.
Antigua was such a pleasant surprise and it really stole the show for us! Such a breathtakingly beautiful island with super friendly locals. We took an excursion ...
My wife and I, who are long term Princess cruisers chose the Caribbean Princess because it was the perfect time to sail, right after Christmas and through New Year.
We have been to the Caribbean several times before so we were not really concerned about the itinerary just a warm place to go. We did rent a cabana on Princess Cays which was really nice with A/C and excellent food. Sadly, it was ...
We chose this cruise to celebrate a wedding anniversary and for the first time in over 50 years, celebrate Christmas at sea. We chose the CP because we'd been on this ship many years ago, and remembered it with great fondness. Sadly, the old girl is showing her age in many ways...
CABINS: the cabins need to be updated, the bland colours and furnishings are aged and any repairs have been ...
Overall: We recently came back from a 10-night Eastern Caribbean cruise over the Christmas holidays aboard the Caribbean Princess. We feel that Princess continues to offer a good cruise value, especially compared to some competing “premium” cruise lines, in most respects. The service (especially dining room and bar/lounge) remains generally excellent, along with the value of the Plus package, the ...
The good:
- Our room was ready when we got on the ship.
- The food was excellent. The beef tenderloin was truly the best we have had on any ship.
- We had anytime dining and arrived between 5:15 - 5:30 p.m. The maximum we had to wait was 10 minutes for a table.
- Puerto Rico was one of our ports and we loved it. We did the Princess walking tour. Our guide used a microphone and we ...
I cruise solely with Princess, and this is my 5th time on the Caribbean Princess, first time in 2005. I know this ship and the brand. If I don’t say this enough- the crew is the #1 reason to sail with Princess.
Embarkment: When you arrive at Port Everglades be prepared to see a line. It move quickly.
Tip: Get the medallion in the mail, wear it to the embarkment, and ask where the green ...
The entertainment was good with a variety. Not lot of options for the mid aged crowd unless you wanted to go to the sky club at 11p. Food was average, I was not used to having to book each dinner meal ahead of time so ended up dining late when there was a free table. Princess Cays was beautiful! The medallions were convenient with hands free door unlock. There were many frequent sailors on this ...
Summary: Great Service. Shabby Ship. Mediocre Food. Awful "Premium" Desserts. "Casual Dining" impossible to get.
We went on this cruise as part of a group of about 180 adults. 14th cruise overall. First cruise on Princess.
Our package came with a mini-suite and the Princess Plus Package upgrade with unlimited beverages, pre-paid gratuities, and WiFi (but just the OLD version, before ...
The overwhelming impression of this cruise is that the Caribbean Princess is an old tired ship. This was my first Princess cruise and I was disappointed to find that, unlike Celebrity, Princess does not fully refurbish its ships. Instead it focuses on tech (Princess Medallion) which feels like a gimmick. Most of the spaces look about 15-20 years old with dents, peeling wallpaper, and just old ...
We chose this cruise because my husband is a scuba diver and we heard that Grand Turk was an amazing spot to dive. But there are limited cruise lines that sail to Grand Turk and we wanted a more upscale experience than what we'd heard Carnival offers. There was not a dive excursion offered through Princess, so we booked our own. That was all well and good, it worked out just fine.
The real ...
