Transatlantic from Fort Lauderdale to Amsterdam.
Ports were very good, very satisfied with the itinerary.
Entertainment was very good, not to mention the state of the art theatre.
That said unless you liked Indian food and wanted it every day, there were few alternatives. Select dining was awful.
At end, never will I cruise Celebrity after being stuck for 17 days with awful food and ...
We are long time Celebrity cruisers and booked the Transatlantic Trade Winds cruise shortly after the Edge was announced. To start this review off I will readily admit that the Edge is polarizing-people either like it or they don't. For us it was a middle-of-the-road experience, but there are aspects of the Edge that devalue the experience and thus I've rated the experience as poor.
Here are ...
We chose this cruise as a replacement for a Caribbean cruise we no longer wanted to take. This review is more about the ship than the cruise itself. I've sailed on Princess many times but this was our first cruise on the new Royal (or any of her sister ships). I've always enjoyed Princess' ships - but I did not enjoy the Royal. I adore the Caribbean, Crown, and their sisters, but the Royal ...
This was our 28th cruise, our second on Princess. We primarily sail in order to cross oceans and we chose this repositioning cruise to arrive in LeHavre before a long stay in Paris. Unfortunately Princess delivered us to the UK, not where we wanted to be. More on that later, but first the cruise itself.
What we Liked:
Embarkation and Ports Management: Embarking was as smooth as silk, ...
I wanted to do a Transatlantic and see the ports I had never seen this ship came out of dry dock without completing the work. They were still laying carpet while cruising. Some plumbing was not working. Staff was not well trained for this ship. They changed their menu and it was not very good. If this had been my first Princess cruise I would never sail Princess Again. The boarding was also ...
We chose this cruise as we are Elite Princess cruisers and this trans-Atlantic cruise gave us a chance to end up in London to spend some time with our youngest son and his wife.
We booked a Club Class mini-suite. We will never book Club Class again. It is a total rip-off for the price difference. Costing you hundreds or thousands of dollars, depending on the length of the cruise, for the ...
We chose this cruise because we like the transatlantic cruises and the ports of call this cruise offered. There were quite a few issues on this cruise as it was just coming off of dry dock and a lot of things were overlooked. The front desk staff, in general, were rude to customers and not knowledgeable. Even laughed at customers questions and seemed put off that they had to be bothered. Think ...
It stopped at places we had not been to.. canaverel, charleston and Bermuda. Plus the name of Cunard. First time and last time with Cunard
Embarkation at Fort Lauderdale was chaotic took nearly an hour through process. Not well organised.
Got to cabin straight away once on board. Went to Lido buffet. Food looked ok, but expected better for Cunard. Thought first day so would get better. ...
Not so Royal!
I will begin this review by saying that this is only our second time in a Cruise. Our first experience was with Disney and it was amazing. To be fair, we do understand that Visions of the Sea is an older ship and if we really want to have a fair comparison we should have booked with Allure or Oasis. I know you get what you pay for. That being said, we were still disappointed in our ...
It was with great expectations that we embarked on this cruise. Never had been to Bermuda and did not have to fly anywhere to get there! How much better does it get? Wrong....The problems started almost immediately... The way the furniture was arranged in the cabin (interior cabin) you had to crawl from the front of the bed in order to get in bed. Had to have the beds separated! One of the beds ...
