Awesome Cruise! Looking forward to the next one!

Review for Oosterdam to Baltic Sea

This was our first cruise with Holland America and our first Transatlantic cruise. The itinerary was like none we had seen and we were excited to be going to 16Ports! We were impressed with how quickly and smoothly the embarkation and disembarkation went. The Oosterdam was in dry dock prior to our departure from Fort Lauderdale. The two week refit in the Bahamas included: New bottom ...

We recently cruised across the Atlantic Ocean to Rome on the Koningsdam. This is a beautiful ship, elegant design and well thought out. Crew was very friendly with prompt service. The cabin was very nice and showers were larger. The embarkation and disembarkation process was easy and smooth. Our only disappointment was with the dancing opportunities for ballroom dancers. This was limited to tea ...

Relaxing Cruise

This is my seventeenth cruise and the first one with HAL. I really liked the service and friendliness of the staff. The food was quality. I especially liked the fresh berries for breakfast. We had a transatlantic, I was afraid that they would end. But the berries were daily. I have not seen this with other cruise companies. The choice in the restaurant is decent. On a solemn evening served foie ...

Good ship, noisy cabin

Review for Koningsdam to Baltic Sea

First time on the Koningsdam and first transatlantic trip. This fairly new (2 years) ship is tastefully designed in a “modern” style with warm subdued colors and a relaxing feel. The food in all venues was the best we have experienced on a HA ship. The main dining room experience overall was good delivering consistently decent food. The service can be slow at times and the dining room ...

Anniversary Cruise to Europe

We tried other transatlantic cruise lines and this is our 9th, and had three previous cruises on Holland America ships. The new ship was perfect. The cabins were improved with larger TV screens and service in the cabin, dining room and all over was outstanding. The people we met on board were in several age groups from 27 to 70 and we had a great time playing trivia and discussing myriad topics ...

Atlantic Adventure keep it

Review for Veendam to Baltic Sea

The cruise was great overall. The weather did not cooperative at times. I had a bad start to the cruise as I lost my wallet. It was however found and returned to me by the front desk. Having a tour guide is a great addition to services for passengers. I ate mostly at the Lideo buffet as open seating is not to my liking. I can only hope that Holland America adds the cruise back as soon as they ...

49 Day Atlantic Adventurer - great ports & excellent care but ship is old & tired

Review for Veendam to Baltic Sea

Enjoyed the destinations thoroughly but wished the ship was in better condition. The food was OK and once in a while excellent in the dining room. The food overall contained too much salt, but you could request a no sodium menu if you wanted. The best dining was in the Pinnacle Grill - the staff worked very hard to ensure we were satisfied. We dined there at least five times ...

Atlantic Adventure never disappoints

Review for Veendam to Baltic Sea

We took this cruise, offered once a year, in 2014 and 2015. We love the crossing both before and after the port intensive Mediterranean. It also stopped at the amazing Azore and Madera Islands. Additionally, the ports in the Mediterranean offer endless possibilities of wonderful historic and cultural excursions. Many of us on the cruise were disappointed to learn that HAL is not offering it ...

Great ports.

Review for Veendam to Baltic Sea

I choose this cruise because of the ports. I was on the Atlantic Adventure in 2011 and 2013 on the Maasdam. The Maasdam was much better. This cruise had no activities around the pool. No music,no BBQ S,boring. The cruise director was terrible. The shows were just ok. Nothing great. The singers and dancers only had a few shows do do in 49 days. They could have put on more shows then they did. They ...

Great Itinerary, not the ship for us

Review for Veendam to Baltic Sea

We were so looking forward to this trip, great itinerary. But Veendam's age issues was more than we want to ever put up with again. Cabin 754, Deck 4, OV midship/forward port side - has a short couch and an end-table; 6 drawers in the vanity, shower/tub combo. Room temperature was not controllable, everything from 66 - 82F. We did have a fan, as requested, and it saved us a bit while ...
