I was completely impressed with all aspects of this cruise. Embarkation was the easiest I have ever seen. We arrived at the port at 11:30 and were sitting down to eat at 12:30. Our bags were in the room at 2:15. All employees were cheerful, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and served at the right temperature. The dining room service was outstanding. We had My Time Dining in the Fantasy Dining Room and never had to wait to be seated. We had a different server every evening and sat at a 7 place round table. The server called us each by name as they placed our plates down. Our tea glasses and water glassses were kept full. The night we had prime rib, we had lobster tail first, then my husband decided he wanted prime rib and asked for it, and it was cheerfully provided although the others at the table had finished and I'm sure it was an inconvenience. The waiters performed a song and dance each evening and it was fun and entertaining. The magician in the dining room was wonderful. Please note that NCL does not serve lobster without an upcharge. The standard steak was tender and flavorful without an upcharge. It was the first time I had eaten escargo and it was delicious. The Buffet had a great variety and really good food. The tables were always cleared. Best managed food service I have ever seen on any ship. The French toast was really good and on alternate days if the scrambled eggs weren't done enough for me, I got an ommelete which was really well prepared. Guest Services went beyond expectations. I had a situation with an excursion unrelated to Carnival and the guest services made a phone call from sea for no charge to help me resolve it. They were so nice, patient and helpful. There was a live for the shows and the dancers, singers and constumes were nice. The comedians were funny. The piano bar was in a nice room and the player/singer was very good. The margarita wasn't but the daiqeries were. The items in the gift shops were good quality and well priced. The attendant on the serenity deck was eager to do anything he could to make everyone comfortable. The lounge chairs had thick pads that were very comfortable. This was my favorite area of the ship to hang out in.   Read Less

My husband and I (senior citizens, VIP Members) excitedly boarded Bahamas Celebration in anticipation of yet another relaxing, care-free 2 day mini-cruise. Just like always, we were greeted by attentive officers and genuinely happy-to-serve crew members welcoming us back on board. As residents on Grand Bahama Island, we use this vessel much like an ocean ferry - to go shopping, buy and ship a car, or to keep hospital or medical appointments in Florida. We greatly enjoy the cozy ambiance of this ship, with its charming, quaint, Old World decor and furnishings. Designed as a Ro-Ro, carrying land vehicles and cargo from Florida to the Bahamas, plus 1200 passengers, the ship is clean, well maintained, and never seems to be over crowded. After grabbing delicious assorted buffet delicacies up on the pool deck, we wandered through the maze of nooks and crannies to find partially sequestered outside spaces, where its delightful to laze in serene quietness, watching the waves and setting sun. Having made reservations so near to sailing date, our options for cabin choices were limited. However, accommodations (smaller, outside view category 8) proved , quiet and comfortable enough, even with the bunk beds. Nice-sized, clean, bathroom with plenty hot water! TV, too! But with all the popping activities happening on-board, who spends much time inside the cabin, anyway? Live musicians, comedy shows for all ages, karaoke contests, Kids and Teens Clubs! Of course, the Wynmore Casino gambling is the big thing! Well-stocked Gift Shop, with lots of sale items, spa and fitness center...A really neat and much appreciated thing for us, is to collect gifts, credits, and upgrades as frequent cruisers / VIP Members. Having cruised throughout the Caribbean and Mediterranean regions, we find the quality of food offered in Trattoria Di Gerry, Crystal Dining Room, and Rio's to be on par with those of larger cruise lines. Variety of cuisine choices - something for every palate! Next morning, disembarkation process was on - schedule, speedy and otherwise uneventful, as we had to get to Port Everglades to board the Carnival Freedom. For the `first time' cruiser, seeking to establish a comfort level with life on the sea, or the seasoned cruiser just looking for a ` fun filled get-away', this ship is a fantastic option: affordable, delightful and do-able! Hope to see you on the Bahamas Celebration real soon! Look for us!   Read Less

Chose this because we were traveling with our parents. It was their first cruise, so we thought a short one would be suffice. We had cruised to Nassau before and were hopeful that Freeport would be just as awesome. The ship itself was dated. The rooms were a nice size. The food was ok, but seemed limited. Shows were average and the clubs were nice. The most disappointing part of the trip was Freeport. Not as exciting as Nassua. While the driver tried to impress, there really wasn't much to see and the history of the young island is limited. It is necessary to take a taxi to "civilization" where the beaches and shopping district are. Getting off of the ship was a chore. Long lines at customs made for a 2 hour wait, however, valet was pretty quick. Not a phenomenal experience, but you get what you pay for. Good trip for a weekend getaway. Staff was friendly and worked hard to please! Read Less
