The ship was surprisingly clean and nice, cabins were bigger and nicer than my previous Cruise on Carnival. The food was ok, the crew was friendly but not very knowledgable (different answers on where to pick up alcohol, where we can use $50 ship credit etc ) The entertainment was strange, music and dance was geared toward the Latin crowd but the shows were aimed towards the older crowd ( 60-70+ ). My wife and I are 33 and 35 and we were very bored with both shows Heres Johnny and the other I cant recall the name of. The newlywed game was fun and the adult comedy was fantastic, although 11.50$ a person is a bit high. I will say i wont go back on this ship unless im staying in the Bahamas, 2 day cruise is way too short for all the hassle Read Less

I must say, the cruise was excellent for the price. The food was ok it wasn't anything to run home and brag about but it was good/edible. This is the first cruise I have had to pay for the adult comedy show but 11.00 a person we throw that away in the couch. The clubs etc. we're good open late nights. I upgraded our cabin once we arrived at the port...man it was a huge difference in cost from what I would have paid online. So upgrade once you get there. The suite we stayed in had a walk in closet, whirlpool, two Tvs, pull out full size couch, King size bed, and 110 volts cabin v4. I would recommend this ship to anyone needing an quick inexpensive getaway. Find yourself an excursion, you would thank me later. Our room attendant was excellent. We couldn't have asked for a better person. All I could remember is his name starts with a "D". He cater to our every need. The pillows were always fluffed, bed was pulled back. I can't say enough about him. Read Less

I read soooo many reviews prior to booking and I was def on edge upon arriving but I must say I DID NOT ENCOUNTER half of the disasters i read. We traveled on a Saturday and came back Monday. Port of Palm Beach There were no long lines or long waits (we arrived around 4:30 pm) I pulled up got my belongings out the trunk, paid the 17$ per night for valet parking ( i read they accept cards and the gentlemen who approached us said cash only, so be prepared just in case) went thru security up to the check in (it's an advantage having the paper work completed prior to arrival) after documents were seen and key cards were given we went to the other side where u can take a welcome picture, book excursions, make reservations, and buy drink packages. I was not forced or pushed into buying anything, as a matter of fact we took our pic stopped to get a excursion paper and by passed everyone else and made our way on the ship. SHIP We went to the shore excursion booking desk to find out the prices on the one we were interested in, we may have waited maybe 5 minutes, I can say the jeep excursions was waaaayyy overpriced ($93 bucks per person) so we declined any excursions and decided we would just take a taxi out. We then decided to drop our luggage off and check out our rooms, we were on the floor E for Equinox, the room was very nice, nice size for the two of us, We never cruised before so we had nothing to compare it too but we did hear the horror stories of a small room, it was an ocean view and VERY VERY COLD, so we had no A/C complaints, as a matter of fact at night it got really cold and we did not see a thermostat to adjust so we just dealt with the extra blankets and each other to stay warmer :) we ran into our room keeper, i cant remember his name but he was very nice and always greeted us with a smile, we were promised a bottle of champaign because we were celebrating a anniversary, which was not in the room upon arrival, but i checked with customer service who got it delivered right away with no problem. we pretty much just tried to familiarize ourselves with the boat, we visited many of the rooms to see what they had to offer, i still cant remember the decks by hard, my bf was a master at it though :) We watched some activities that were going on and ate some hot dogs, hamburgers and fries. Listen out for the announcements they let u know whats going on and where, if u r a drinker they keep u informed of the drink specials as well :) We ate in the stellar room, i did not like being seated with strangers but hey it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, i had the salmon and veggies and the Jamaican jerk pork, i loved the salmon better the other dish was ok, i loved the cheesecake but i didn't like the desert choices the second night. we went to the regal room i think it was called and watched the show they offered at 7 but we didn't care for it much, so we didn't stay the entire time. That evening we went to the room with the saxaphone player and singer and I truly enjoyed there session and the songs they were playing was the bomb.com we visited a club also there music choices were good as well. the breakfast leftovers (we arrived around 10 am, so get their earlier for better variety) was not as good but we were ok with just putting something in our stomachs before getting off to see the island. I did experience a bit of sea sick the first night but i went to the customer service desk and got the complimentary pills. ISLAND We got off the boat and waiting on a taxi round trip for two of us was $20, WAY BETTER THAN $93. we were taken to Lucaya marketplace, where we picked up a few souvenirs(i can see where the shop owners can become a pest but I think of it as its there job and they are trying to make a living) we got some fresh conch lobster and conch salad which was very good and very cheap we then got a pina colada drink fixed inside a coconut, we visited there casino(which didn't have much a/c but we won $7 bucks off $1,cant complain) we also visited there beach but we didn't stay too long because it was very hot,we arrived back to the boat by 3:30 pm and was met by NO LINES.... We then went to freshen up ate dinner again in the stellar room, caught a free comedy show, hung out in a club then called it a night, We were up and ready by 8:30 AM many others thought like us,the earlier the better,we did have to wait but it was not nearly as long as the reviews i read, i can say the time consuming part was arrival back to the port and waiting on customs, ITS TRUE THE PASSPORT LINE GOES FASTER,and waiting on valet to bring the car. All in all I enjoyed our brief vacation and for the price i really cant complain, i recommend going yourself and experience it rather than going by what others say, i def didn't regret this Groupon purchase and next time we want to take the kids Read Less

Cabins are very small with no storage but most importantly no air flow. It was stifling hot and thoroughly miserable. I hope you like to swelter especially during romance. To boot all beds are dressed with heavy comforters for warm weather ONLY....meaning in the tropic heat and no AC you have NO SHEET just a heavy blanket. Pools are small and not comfortable as are jacuzzis which are unheated. Food service in the dining room was poorly understaffed and both nights we gave up on dessert as it took almost two hours to get our entrees. Caveat emptor! Read Less

Ok First off let me just say, there are some horrible reviews out there for this cruise!!! I honestly think that this just isnt for those who have high expectations for something that is free!!! You get what you pay for!! Me and my Husband really enjoyed this cruise!! it was a great get away from our horrible Michigan winter weather!! I was so happy just to be in the sun again!! And yes their are hidden fees and its not "free" but it was still cheaper then paying for everything out of pocket!! All in all we paid about $1500 for our trip not including plane tickets. heres the major stuff we had to pay for: Alamo Rent a car $450 (insurance 25$ a day and young adults under 24 yrs 25$ a day) Grand Lucayan resort $83 -2 nights Ramada Plaza hotel $45 -3 nights Grand Celebration $130 -2 nights Wings valet parking $82 -4 nights Gas fill up 22$ Everything else we spent was either on food or souvenirs for friends. For the food at the Ramada Hotel you are given food vouchers and you only pay tip and like 3% of total. This was a buffet restaurant and the food was alright. service was ok too. The cruise ship was awesome in the food department!! it had two different buffets that were completely free!! The food was so good too!! service was awesome!! The Grand Lucayan resort you had to buy your own meals, which me and my hubby were happy for a change anyway, however all meals there were super expensive!!! cheapest one we had was by ordering pizza up to our room and it was still 30$. Most expensive meal for both of us together was 50$ (we're not big spenders :) The rooms we got ...not too bad!! The ramada was definitely not my favorite though!! Its was annoying where we got put, all the way in the back of the hotel 3rd floor where the elevators didnt work! Also the workers there were polite but not very helpful! When we tried to leave for our cruise we were told we were supposed to be staying another night, so they wouldn't let us check out and sent us to the welcome center to get it figured out. we had to wait in line for 20 min only to be told it was ok for us to check out.. stupid!! Also DO NOT leave anything in your room because you will not get it back!! My husband accidently left work out supplements and when we got back from our cruise we tried THREE different times to get it from lost and found and were told "they would get back to us" or "they didnt have keys". Grand Lucayan resort was Amazing!!! We Upgraded to an ocean view and it was perfect!!! it had a balcony, a huge tv, and great bed. although we had room 666 which was slightly scary lol. The pools at this place, so awesome and beautiful!!! they overlooked the ocean and even had a swim up bar! Wish we stayed in the Bahamas longer!! I could go on and on!! The beach was just perfect!!!! so beautiful!!   Read Less

This was our first cruise and we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Checking in was quick and easy. We arrived in our room to find it clean and cozy. Then we explored the ship while waiting to have dinner at our scheduled time and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. As we set sail a beautiful rainbow welcomed us to the open sea while our curtious and efficient server kept us well cared for.We gazed at the stars and moon on the upper deck and stayed up late enjoying the many ativities. It wasnt hard to wake up early as we sailed into the beautiful Bahamas for a day of snorkeling, shopping, and laying on the beautiful beach for a stunning suntan to wear to dinner at the crystal dining room while we ate a deliciously prepared dinner and fun desserts. We celebrated with the staff and chefs as they rocked to "The happy song" that will forever remind me of our wonderful time together. Thank you to all of your staff, entertainers, spokesman, and anyone else responsible for such a fun memory. Read Less

My husband and I live in Jacksonville, fl. We have six kids! He works full-time, and I am a full time student and home maker. Our anniversary and my birthday are two days apart. We're heavily involved in our church so we were looking for something quick but amazing. I found this cruise on groupon, and i thought it was too good to be true, but i figured what the heck let's try it out. It was absolutely amazing. We drove down to West Palm the night before, which happened to be our anniversary, and stayed at Embassy Suites. When we got to the port, check in was a breeze. It took less than 30 mins from when we pulled up, to when we actually boarded the boat. When we boarded, the crew had lunch already prepared! The service was amazing. The servers were respectful of the fact that we don't drink alcohol. Once they asked once and we said no, we were never asked again. We chose to do the Jeep excursion. It was unreal! The day we spent on the island was actually my birthday. When we got back to the boat, there was card in our room from the captain and crew wishing me a happy birthday. We ate at the crystal dining room! Definitely a gourmet experience. They even sang happy birthday and brought me a miniature cake! This cruise far beyond exceeded my expectations, and next time, i'm gonna choose the option to stay at the resort for a few days!!! Read Less

In our opinion, the Bahamas Celebration Cruise truly is a rip off. I did some research and read many reviews before committing to this trip and thought that I could stay on top of things. I thought that I had handled and set straight every problem prior to the trip. That was not the case and here I am now adding my own opinion to the many others. I don't know where the positive reviews come from, but I can tell you that every negative review you read is true and worse. Although some of the facts are different, our story and experiences are not dissimilar. The bottom line is, our trip and association with the ship and all connected with it - was a disaster ! We were (to say the least) nickeled and dimed to death; misled; lied to; and paid for upgrades that were non-existent. We will never again travel with "Caribbean Cruise Lines"; "Bahamas Celebration Cruise Line or the other 7 or 8 names they go by. It is said that there is strength in numbers. Perhaps we can't stop this Cruise Line from deceiving and taking advantage of others, but maybe we (together) can slow them down. Maybe we can help some other innocent and trusting travelers from experiencing the same hardships and dishonest, fraudulent treatment we encountered. Here is our story, add it to the others, learn from it, pass it on I made a donation to a children's foundation and this trip was my Thank You Gift. (Obviously they sold my name.) Although I turned down the gift a number of times, I kept getting phone calls from "Caribbean Cruise Lines" - so finally I said, Okay, tell me more. - and so the start of misleading, ambiguous and confusing information. Although there were many problems, I have chosen to limit them to the few listed below. Trip Cost: A free trip that was to have been only $200 (to pay for taxes and misc. fees) ended up costing more than $1,200 and another $1,000 + in transportation. I had incurred some of the fees because of upgrades. Upgrades: All the upgrades we paid for were non-existent and non refundable. Transportation: We were given a ½ price airfare voucher which we could not use - none of the discounted travel dates offered coincided we our trip dates. Free 8 day Car Rental: We were led to believe that we could use a rental car in the Bahamas. Not True. We could only use it for the 2 days we were in Fort Lauderdale. We were to have paid only $20 for the two days, but instead had to pay $60. I can't answer why they gave us the car for 8 days, unless it was to get more money (for days not being used). Restaurant Voucher: We were to have been given a $50 voucher to Cafe Aruba. We never got it. Time Share: We didn't know anything about a time share presentation until about the fourth phone call (of more than 2 dozen calls). We were led to believe that it would be a power point presentation in the same hotel we were staying. The presentation turned out to be a one-on-one in West Palm Beach - an hour drive from our hotel. However, unlike some of the other guests' reports, we didn't feel pressured. Although we originally had no intention of buying, it was right for us, good locations, good price We didn't have any problems with the Time Share Reps, but we did with the Cruise Line reps. They misled us as to the location of the meeting and the time we had to invest. Basically, all 3 days in Fort Lauderdale were wasted at our expense - literally. Charge Card: Discover card was one of the ship approved charge cards. Prior to travel, we notified our credit card companies and although we completed all the ships forms notifying them that we would use the Discover Card, the ship turned down its use. At 9 am on the first day of disembarkation in the Bahamas, there were 23 passengers that were refused its use. As time went on, the number quickly multiplied. The problem was not with Discover, but with the ship. The same problem was repeated on our return home. Prior to boarding, ship officials again took the Discover info, but upon disembarkation in Florida - they refused it. We were fortunate to have brought another card with us. Some of our fellow passengers were not so lucky. Complaints: All our grievances were shifted from one individual or department to another and another ... All our concerns and complaints went unsettled. I was finally able to find out that I had booked directly through the Cruise Line, but this info was difficult to attain and also went nowhere. Very early on in my involvement with the Cruise Line Reps, I knew I had to keep notes - day, date, time, reps name, title, phone number, summarization of discussions, etc. Later on, before hanging up, I asked the rep to repeat what was in the computerized notes. I have more than 26 pages of notes. All bases covered ? NO !!!! I found that regardless of what they tell you, they skillfully change the contents, give misleading information, and in most cases give one lie after another. 1. Paid $349 extra for more days in the Bahamas. They gave me Orlando. This problem was corrected. 2, Paid appx $250 extra for a Ship Cabin at the highest level, facing the ocean, king/queen bed with a balcony. I found out the ship was not built with any. There are no balconies. I was offered a deluxe cabin suite, but another call and yet another rep told me that it was located below deck (no windows). I turned it down. Later found out this info was not true either. I finally agreed to a large cabin on level 8 with a king bed and a wall to wall window facing the ocean. The cabin turned out to be smaller than a closet. The king bed was 2 singles pushed together up against one side of a wall. A slant was created where the mattresses met. This slant kept rolling me into the wall. The feet of my 6'4 boyfriend hung over the bed. There was so little space that we both had to climb over one another to get in and out. So much for having pre informed them of our senior status and some handicap issues, which I was assured, would be honored - they weren't. 3. Paid extra for better accommodations and food packages in both Florida and the Bahamas. Both were non existent. We were at the Ramada in Florida (no beach anywhere for miles; very small swimming pool; too many kids; lots of skers; awful food; poor room accommodations). We were assigned to a hotel in the Bahamas that had been closed for 3 years. Can't tell you why this was never corrected, nor where the money for the food package went. At the Lucayan, we were going to be charged $87 extra per person, per day for food and $50 extra per person for a 10th floor room facing the ocean. We turned down the food pkg, but stood our grounds on the room. They compromised with a 9th floor room facing the Marina - no extra charge (and we had no intention of paying more, yet again). We accepted, only to find that in order to see the marina we had to look past the bldg roof tops, air conditioning units, and all the streets in between. Yes, the marina was visible, if you had binoculars. Before travel, I asked and was not told the truth about Grand Bahamas and Lucaya. I later found that the Grand Bahamas Island consists of the Freeport Bonded Area and the districts of East and West Grand Bahama, and that Lucaya is a suburb of Freeport. I understand that Freeport is one of the poorest locations in all of the Bahamas. And, from what we saw and experienced, we found this to be true. Alan Thicke and his wife (Tanya) are spokespersons for this cruise line and the vacation packages connected to it. Based on what had to say in all the advertisements connected to this trip, I was especially expecting the Grand Lucayan Resort to be spectacular. It was not. The beach and pools were disappointing. Nice people, pretty grounds, lots of tourist souvenir shopping and eating areas in the Marketplace (across from the resort and Casino), and several excursions available - but not much else. I don't understand why it's called a resort - far from my definition and expectations of a resort. In addition, you don't dare want to travel too far away from the resort and Marketplace. This has certainly changed my opinion and trust level of Alan Thicke and his wife. I wonder if they have taken this cruise, stayed at any of the hotels, attended the time share presentations or even bothered to check out any of the information they are so free and cavalier in broadcasting. Maybe they should both go under cover and experience for themselves the hardships and difficulties we had to endure. Let's see if they like their trip with the Bahamas Celebration Cruise line, their stay at the Ramada, etc. However, if they are aware of the cruise lines deceptive and unethical practices, and have chosen to support them anyway - well, shame on them. That makes them just as culpable, dishonest and unprofessional !!! During our trip, we met and spoke with many other travelers. No problems were experienced from guests who had come in on Norwegian or Carnival. However, almost everyone else we met who had come in on the Bahamas Celebration and had just as many horror stories to share. None of us paid the same money for the same thing. The prices ranged from $187 to $3,000 All of us agreed that we will never take this type of vacation again. For my boyfriend and I, it is not about the money we spent. Certainly $1,200 plus transportation is more than a reasonable (and actually - a cheap) price to pay for a 9 day vacation for two. It is, however, the fact that we were misled, lied to, deceived, duped by unethical, conmen/women who used discriminatory practices and deceptive marketing tactics in order to lure and attract clientele for the purposes of making money on selling non existent services and upgrades, time share properties and a host of other products. We didn't get the trip that was advertised, the trip we expected, and we didn't get the upgrades and services for which we paid additional money beyond the original quoted price. We feel we have been swindled and have no way to make things right. As stated earlier - we will never again travel or do business with "Caribbean Cruise Lines", Bahamas Celebration Cruise Line or any of the other names they go by. So, I now ask again, Are you certain you want to accept a free trip from Caribbean Cruise Lines ? Do you really want to travel on the Bahamas Celebration Cruise Ship ? If your answer is still, Yes - Good Luck !!! I'm sure we'll be hearing from you in the next few weeks. :( A Disappointed Traveler in Ohio Read Less
