This is a nice cruise, my first..I did not stay on the island, wish I had..the biggest flaw is the debate of needing to go to welcome center in ft lauderdale..I was told that I didnt need to because I didn't purchase the package to stay on the island..then I was I did..was very confused..I made the decision to fly into west palm beach, and not to go to ft lauderdale...I talked to Joanne at the welcome center and told I was not going to ft lauderdale..she told me I could get my boarding passes on the ship by attending a meeting about a travel club..which I did..BUT:..I didnt get a boarding pass, never saw one, and when I checked in, they didnt ask for one..they want id and credit card..so the mystery is solved..its a gimmick to make u think you have to go to ft lauderdale, and its a time share sales pitch!...The ship was nice, entertainment not bad, the food I was disappointed in..seemed to be cafeteria style food..the grill closed on me while standing in line..after not eating all day when I was on the island..I enjoyed the Hollywood brats band at the casino..very good!..The highlight of my trip was the excursion, the dolphin encounter..it was awesome..its pricey at &125 each..but for me it was worth it..( it rained on us the whole trip, so unable to swim on ship) Read Less

I know a lot of people say this cruise is a scam, but I don't think it is the actual cruise line that scams people, I think it is the private contractor's that book these cruises. We impulsively bought a "great deal" from Holiday Cruise Line that turned out to be working on behalf of a time share company (RCI/Wydham). We ended up spending significantly more money on this "great deal" and it was a nightmare to book. Luckily, aside from the hotel that they booked us at in Orlando (Park Inn by Radisson - don't ever stay here) most of the trip was a lot of fun. Aside from the extra fees that we paid to take this cruise ($82.59 for a beverage package - 10 drink tickets, $116.82 for 3 people to eat at the specialty restaurant - Admiralty Club and $115.80 for gratuity and taxes/port fees), we really had a great time. The entertainment was great and we had a lot of fun playing Name That Tune with the piano player at the martini bar. We also enjoyed playing board games which they had a nice variety to choose from in the lounge next to the martini bar. The main pool was being painted while we were there, so that was kind of a bummer. It was not easy to find a lounge chair either since it was Spring Break and the ship was full of people. The food was decent and they have top shelf liquors to choose from which was nice. I also managed to find a good glass of wine. One thing I want to mention is that dinner we had in the main dining room that you do not have to pay extra for was actually better than the meal we had at the specialty restaurant. Don't waste your money. One more thing - the Belgian waffles at the Buffet were probably the best Belgian waffles I have ever had. Seriously good! We really enjoyed the evening entertainment and I was very impressed with the theatre! It was super nice! They do a really nice job of taking care of this ship. It is very clean and the furniture is in good shape. We had no issues with customer service. Boarding the ship in Port of Palm was fairly painless, it didn't take too long. Boarding the ship in the Bahamas was a little concerning - they could not find our reservation! The reservation attendant had to go on to the ship and it took a half hour or so before he returned and told us he got it straightened out. Luckily it all worked out, except that our room was in the front of the ship on the way back and the vibration from the engine woke us up very early. Definitely will make sure we don't get a room in the front of a ship again! Getting off the ship once we returned to Port of Palm was kind of crazy. We ended up waiting until about 11:00 am until almost everyone was off the ship before we attempted to leave. Once we got off the ship we had to wait for a Valet to retrieve our car which took some time. We had to pay $19.00/day to Valet Park at Port of Palm - Valet parking is not an option, it is a requirement. I would recommend making sure if you are flying out the same day you return to book an afternoon flight and plan on relaxing on the ship until the very last minute. Trying to beat the crowds off of that ship and standing in line for a long time is not a fun way to end your vacation... Read Less

We had a great time, we weren't expecting a 5 star experience as in the bigger ships. The food was good, the entertainment was decent and the rooms were actually great. They were much bigger than in the cruise we've been on in the past. It was a quick getaway and it truly exceeded our expectations. For the price we would Definitely recommend and we'll cruise with them again in the future. I can say that they were much more coordinated than in our experience. The boarding and un-boarding was quite simple. They provide parking for 18/ per day which I thought was pretty average. The alcohol packages aren't great, but not too terrible either. The only thing I would say they could improve on would be on their kids programs. Our son wasn't very thrilled about their programs, but I wasn't expecting Disney either. We went on a quick family vacation and our expectations were exceeded. If you're looking for a 5 start retreat pay for that. This isn't what you're going to experience here, but if you're looking for a quick fun getaway book your cruise and make the best of it. We DID! Read Less

Chose this because we were traveling with our parents. It was their first cruise, so we thought a short one would be suffice. We had cruised to Nassau before and were hopeful that Freeport would be just as awesome. The ship itself was dated. The rooms were a nice size. The food was ok, but seemed limited. Shows were average and the clubs were nice. The most disappointing part of the trip was Freeport. Not as exciting as Nassua. While the driver tried to impress, there really wasn't much to see and the history of the young island is limited. It is necessary to take a taxi to "civilization" where the beaches and shopping district are. Getting off of the ship was a chore. Long lines at customs made for a 2 hour wait, however, valet was pretty quick. Not a phenomenal experience, but you get what you pay for. Good trip for a weekend getaway. Staff was friendly and worked hard to please! Read Less

My husband and I consider ourselves seasoned cruisers and received this cruise as a Christmas gift. We had never heard of this cruise ship and was somewhat uncertain as to what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised! The larger cruise lines could take a page out of their book when it comes to embarkation and disembarkation - they did a fabulous job. The food could use some improvement was wasn't as bad as I have read in some of the reviews. The waiters in the main dining room were not as accommodating when it came to requesting changes in the menus - so we opted for dinner meals elsewhere on the ship. The entertainment was fun as the cruise director was a hoot! I didn't care for the comedian and I'm about sick of BINGO (that all cruise lines have) but overall I think he did a great job. the weather in the Bahamas was windy, rainy and dreary - so we stayed on the ship. This was fine with me as we have visited Freeport several times in the past. All in all this is a great deal for the price and a even greater adventure for first time cruisers. I would like to see them pay a little more attention to the Encore Lounge area as there was an odor in that area. I am not certain if it was poor air circulation or if the carpeting needed refreshing. To the cruise director - please continue to seek out new entertainment - and let that be that be the main reason people want to cruise with this cruise ship. I think you're doing a great job but folks are tired of BINGO...By the way the band in the Encore lounge was awesome and enjoyable! My family and I are thinking of taking this cruise for New Years Eve. We met the senior couple who are longtime cruisers on this particular cruise and they talked us into joining them and their family for New Years Eve. I can't remember their names but I will not forget their warmth, kindness, and wonderful memories they shared about their cruises with this cruise ship. Where there is definitely room for improvement - overall - GOOD JOB! Read Less

I must say, the cruise was excellent for the price. The food was ok it wasn't anything to run home and brag about but it was good/edible. This is the first cruise I have had to pay for the adult comedy show but 11.00 a person we throw that away in the couch. The clubs etc. we're good open late nights. I upgraded our cabin once we arrived at the port...man it was a huge difference in cost from what I would have paid online. So upgrade once you get there. The suite we stayed in had a walk in closet, whirlpool, two Tvs, pull out full size couch, King size bed, and 110 volts cabin v4. I would recommend this ship to anyone needing an quick inexpensive getaway. Find yourself an excursion, you would thank me later. Our room attendant was excellent. We couldn't have asked for a better person. All I could remember is his name starts with a "D". He cater to our every need. The pillows were always fluffed, bed was pulled back. I can't say enough about him. Read Less

This was my first cruise on a ship from Florida. This ship is a lot larger than their previous ship. The ship's cabins are modern and very clean. They have lots and lots of framed artwork along the walls on each of the passenger decks. The entertainment in the Encore Lounge knows how to get the party started. This band can play anything...and does it well!! The staff are very, very nice. The buffet serves food from the time you board, and until you return to West Palm Beach. The food was delicious, especially in the Stellar Prime restaurant. My kids are grow, but they have three different venues for kids of all ages to have fun. They have a venue with computers that guests can use, and it also has board games for guests to play, such as checkers, chess, and more. I did not have time to visit the Spa, but it was very, very upscale and offered a lot of services. It has a very nice and CLEAN fitness center. I would definitely sail on this cruise ship again, and bring my family and friends with me. Read Less

Every upgrade we were offered, such as the hotels, meal plans, etc) was a waste of money. The kids had very little to do & pool did not stay open very late. This was a party ship, no doubt, but there should have been more accommodations other than bar-like atmospheres, where the drinks are watered down (very little alcohol) & over priced. We love to cruise and was told NCL was great. WRONG!!! We took the sky on march 30th April 3rd 2015. First we went for our older children's birthday was told there would be cake in their room, there wasn't we asked about it we were told we had to buy the cake, so we let it go. Then we purchased the soda packages for our 3 older children because it is usually the best option, after spending 90.00 (30.00 per child), we find we were also charge almost 16.00 gratuities on top of that for the cards ! We were told we would have a fridge we could use because were traveling with a baby, the fridge was locked and we were never able to gain access to it the whole 4 days. Granted if we needed milk we could go down 5 decks to the front desk and were able to get milk but who wants to do that a 3 am when there is a fridge 10 steps away! We had to get 2 rooms because there were 7 of us, we were told we would be on the same deck but might not be next to each other, no big deal me and the girls in 1 room and my husband and boys in the other, we were not only no were near each other but they were 2 decks above us !!! When we booked the cruise we were told they would accommodate my daughters wheat allergy, there was nothing wheat free, lucky for us we had her retested prior to the cruise and was told it came back negative so she was able to eat, but they were not aware of this because my husband forgot to call and cancel the wheat allergy information. My husband and I had some free time to ourselves so we went to the pool deck and sat at the bar for some drinks. The drinks were great and were only 7.00 each but then each time we got a drink and they swiped our room key they charged us 2.50 tip on each drink!!! so we each had 5 drinks at the same hour sitting, it was 25.00 in tips !!!! When we went tot he front desk to say between that and the 16.00 coke card tip it was insane! We were more or less told oh well, and when we said this insanity would change our decision to ever cruise NCL again he shrugged his shoulders and didn't care! I was appalled at the buffet, for a 4 day cruise the breakfast and lunch was exactly the same every day. They didn't even add different side dishes! They hamburgers were disgusting ! So we figured we would go to the pool side bbq for a change, except it was the same food as inside at the buffet!! The food and service inside the palace for dinner was amazing ! The room attendant was great! We will go back to our normal cruise lines for future cruises. Read Less

Family and friends had an awesome time! While gambling, you're Black Jack staff was amazing. There was a drunk guy testing one of your crew members patience at the Black Jack's table closest to the exit by the cashing out window, and he handled himself professionally at all times. The professionalism of your crew was amazing. Michael, he was always running around helping guests with drinks, getting ice, and whatever it took to make guests happy. He sure made our day by selling us a big bottle of rum and kept the sodas nice and cold for us by refilling the ice every time he came around. Our room attendant was great and always smiling. Suggestion: putting some sort of padding around the bed frame. The ice cream sampling was awesome! Don't ever get rid of that. It was a nice way to cool off after being outside in the pool and hot. The food was delicious. The host of the late show was a little slow at first but then started to make people laugh. He kept his composure and didn't give up. My brother in law and I were turned away for our family dinner because we didn't have pants, but we were wearing nice shorts. Some individuals were wearing jeans that looked dirty. I think dressing nice if fine, but with over twenty in our group, we were the only outcast. My wife and I were part of the couple's show/competition. We love it! Hi, my husband, son and I went on this cruise, first cruise for them, second cruise for me. This cruise came at the end of a 8 day Orlando family vacation. We rented a car both to and from Orlando to cocoa beach. It was very easy to drive there. (even with the tolls) We went to board the ship around noon and it did take awhile to get everything set up for the 3 of us. We then boarded and went to our room to unpack. We had a couple drinks, (they were expensive), and looked around. The cruise was very comfortable, but after 4 days there wasn't a lot to do on the ship. We went to the comedy show, and another dancing, singing show. We played mini golf, went to the adult hot tubs, did a little shopping. They have great deals on liquor and cigarettes on the ship that you can take home with you. We paid for a junior suite and I'm so glad we did. I wouldn't want to stay in a room any smaller. My husband smokes and it was very convenient for him to have the balcony. I should have paid more attention to the direction the boat was going in order to take advantage of the sunrises and sunsets. The bed was fantastic and I've never slept better. The room was in a great location in regards to the rest of the ship, everything was easy to get to. Our room steward was amazing and he took extra time to make our room even more wonderful, We enjoyed this room.  Our cabin steward was fantastic and we tipped him extra(we paid all our tips ahead of time) The elegant night was okay, the lobster was good. We tended to eat on the lido deck because we wanted to stay in shorts and sandals and relax. We met some really great people on the ship, both cruisers and those that were working on the ship. The cruisers were varied. There were families, couples, singles, young people and elderly. My husband and son both liked cruising enough to go on another one, and that was the whole idea of going on this one. Read Less

I dont think that the comments and reviews are very nice. The cruise was not bad at all depending on what it was for. We got this free cruise when we bought our timeshare a few years ago and just had to pay the extras to add our two kids. I paid upgrade fees for a cabin with a window, upgrade to a larger car while in Florida, and upgrade our hotel in the Bahamas. The only problem with this free cruise is the timeshare meeting that lasts 2 hours, especially since we are already timeshare owners. The cruise is a very nice "short" cruise with all that a cruise has to offer. Very nice people working on the boat, very nice staff, housekeeping, drinks were awesome, entertainment on the ship is fabulous, especially the guy that was doing the contest with couples and newlyweds, they were hilarious. The food was actually fine, for free food, you can always pay and go to the more exclusive restaurant, but thats your choice, the burgers by the pool were delicious, they had free ice cream and overall really nice people working on this ship. I mean this way just an overnight ship for us, just take us to the Bahamas, drop us off and bring us back in three days. So I cant say one bad thing about it. Our room was small for four, but our teens took the upper bunks, it was kind of fun. The showers were nice and clean and pretty spacious. Yes, the pool is small, but who cares, just lie out and have fun. Nice shops when you are about to board from Freeport to come back to West Palm Beach, an awesome Senior Frogs there, plenty of fun, music, karoake, and great drinks, see Jason, he is awesome. I'm a too the point person. 1. we weren't told that we had to do a time share tour. we went and wait for over 20 minutes before leaving because no one showed up 2. picking up the 'vouchers' was interesting. there was broken down caution ribbon on the stairs and it looked like a hotel where I would go to purchase crack 3. out ramada parkway hotel (orlando) was a joke. Our air conditioner had explosion noises and started to spark like it was on fire. I called the front desk and they said that as long as it wasn't on fire turn it off and they would deal with it tomorrow..  they rectified it by replacing with another old one. 4. i swear something was biting me in the room. later in the day I saw small little red bugs all over the air conditioner. 5. the hotel voucher food was awful. the first night food was comped because they just brought left overs out from earlier. 6. it isn't a cruise ship.. its a boat. it doesn't have stabilizers and it super rocky. 7. i asked for a crib in our cabin and the cabin assistant told be that he wouldn't put his own child in the crib so i should put my eight month old on the top bunk 8. the mattress on the boat was ripped and had holes all over it. fancy. 9. the bathroom in the cabin had a cracking floor. 10. the grand lucyan was beautiful. much nicer than pictures. 11. the room (breakers cay) was very large 12. food by the shops was a little expensive 13. DONT go to the Bon Fire. I swear i got food poisoning! my advice, go straight to the Grand Lucayan Resort Read Less

I definitely had concerns about the cruise after reading reviews on the Bahamas Celebration...however, as a very critical person myself, I must say I was pleased with the 2 day cruise! Of course there were somethings I didn't like, but the pro's outweighed the con's. Yes, there are 220 volt outlets, but if you do research before you came (which I did) I already knew that so I just bought a 220 to 110 converter online from amazon for about 30 bucks. It worked great. Now, online their website states they only give converters to people if its an emergency. When I called, the lady I talked to said no, they give out converters on the ship first come first serve. Due to the fact this lady I was talking to didn't sound so smart, I just decided to bring my own converter anyways.....and it worked fine. The room - I had ocean view room. Very small, but hey you don't come to the cruise to sit in the room all day anyways. The food - went to 9th deck to eat when I first got on boat - that was like cafeteria food, not good at all. First night we had reservations at Crystal Room - it was really good. Second night, we went to the Cove for additional 25 dollars per person (plus tip included). I will say it was definitely worth it...it was a birthday celebration for my mom and she really enjoyed the dinner. Everything was good and wait staff was excellent and really nice. The ship overall is old but kept up good in my opinion. The pool - that's like a big glass tub LOL....didn't get in that thing. I didn't go to any of the shows, I was too pooped both nights by 10pm (oldie) but my mom and sister went to one the first night and they said they enjoyed it. THE CONS or SURPRISES I SHOULD SAY At check in - they want a credit card on file or a $100 dollar cash deposit per person....for what purpose? Who knows but I didn't like the fact I had to put a credit card on file and I just couldn't pay cash for stuff as I go. I purposely gave them a credit card I keep for companies I don't trust because it only has a 300 dollar credit limit on it. Then I get a note in my room saying oh they tried to charge my card over 300 dollars and they couldn't. For what reason were they doing that when I didn't buy anything? Smh Freeport - Surprise, they never tell you that the port we are docking into has no beach area, until you're on the ship. You're three options when you dock are stay on the boat, shopping in freeport on your own, or doing some of the execursions they offer. We decided to do the glassboat tour and grand lucan hotel beach day but glass boat tour was cancelled due to water being too choppy. There was nothing else really left we wanted to do because by the time we found that out, everything was sold out. So our family decided to just do the grand lucyan beach day without the lunch for like 40 bucks per person. The grand lucyan beach area = AWESOME!!! They had an infiniti pool was beautiful, beach was beautiful and had jacuzzi, volleyball, a bar outside with tv to watch games (it was a Sunday NFL Football woooo!!!) anyways, the hotel beach day was worth it. Then there is shopping walking distance from the hotel and you can safely walk there without being hounded or scared to walk to the area. When we got to the shopping area, we found another tour place so I asked them what tours they had available since most of the cruise ship tours were sold out. The lady sold me the "Dolphin Encounter" Tour for WAYYYY less than what they tried to sell it to us for on the cruise ship. Dolphin Encounter on cruise ship was $110 for adult, $98 for child. The lady by the hotel charged me $85 for adult and $50 for child on the same exact tour. SOLD!!! My son and I went, and it was awesome! It took about two hours, then we went back to the grand lucyan hotel and stayed there until 5pm. Something else that also sucked was it took about an hour waiting in line to get back through customs when we got back to Palm Beach. I say if you are looking for a quick getaway to paradise this is definitely the cruise to take I really loved it!!! Read Less

Having cruised with RCCL, we were not expecting a lot from this cruise to Freeport..we just wanted to get away & celebrate our 1 yr. anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised. The ship is older, but you can't tell from the inside. It is beautiful. Though a lot smaller ship than our previous cruise, it is well taken care of and very very clean. The staff is very courteous, and diligent in their jobs. The Crystal Room for our first night dinner was excellent. We had the prime rib, which I thought was very tasty. My husband didn't care for his though. Our room was very small, but it was sparkling clean, the sheets soft, with a fresh laundered scent. The shower was excellent, and much bigger than our shower on Freedom of the Seas. Good water pressure. We decided on Paradise Cove for our day in Freeport, which we booked on our own. It was truly paradise there. Only us and 1 other couple, it was quiet and serene. Our driver, Maurice gave us a nice informative tour on our 25 minute drive in air conditioned van. Bring bug spray as the no-see-ums were dreadful. Also, you want to snorkel there at high tide..much better in high tide. We stayed all day and the low tide snorkeling was not as good. The reef there is undisturbed and natural, teeming with tropical fish, lobster, rays, turtles, barracuda, and coral in every color of the rainbow. It was just spectacular in high tide. The staff at Paradse is good, the food excellent with freshly made to order frozen cocktails if you please. Maurice drove us back at the 2:30 time slot, and took a different route to show us more of the island. It was a great day. Back on the ship we chose Rio for dinner Sunday night. I chose Salmon, Steven chose Beef Wellington..both were fantastic. The food on board this ship was 100% better than the food on Freedom..no lie. We saw the variety show in the beautiful disco THE VIEW afterwards. The magician was great, as we're the juggler, the contortionist and comedian. Great fun, lot of laughs. The Pub is great for an after dinner drink and the husband & wife entertainment was not bad. The casino is beautiful inside, but being in the front of the ship, I felt the rocking too much & couldn't stay in there. This is a smaller ship, so if you are prone to seasickness, as I am, take precautions. We both slept like babies on board, but the second night the ship swayed significantly, and woke me up several times during the night. I didn't get sick though, but I stayed in bed also. I don't know why it was so rough, the weather was gorgeous. Maybe just the seas back to the US. Rio is casual dress, but keep in mind that Crystal is dressier..no shorts. All in all it was a fantastic weekend aboard the Celebration. Freeport was awesome, the staff was great, and our room was kept spotless by our Steward, Joshua. Our clothes were folded, we always had ice, our shoes lined up, our bed sheets cleaned and turned down whenever we went in. Don't bother bringing anything you have to plug in because the outlets are European. You can ask your Steward for a hair dryer, culling iron, but all the plugs on this ship are NOT standard ACDC plugs, so you can't charge your phone, IPAD, or computer. Just leave all that stuff home and enjoy being away for a change. It was refreshing not being tied to my IPAD AND IPHONE for a change. Our rating for this cruise: 5+ overall. Look on Groupon for cheap deals for this cruise, but staying in Our Lakaya is not allowed with Groupon. The lines for people staying on the Island for days was super long, while we were able to get off and on with no lines for just visiting for the day. don't forget your passports, but I was never required to show my drivers license. Valet parking only, and get there by noon cuz it takes a while to get your car parked. Ship sailed at 6pm. Lots to do, and not to do. We didn't use the pool. It's above ground, and tiny. First let me say that I have cruised numerous times so I had very low expectations for this cruise. I was very pleased from the moment we stepped on board. The decor was understated and attractive. The staff was welcoming and personable. We dined in the Crystal Restaurant our first night. I was traveling with my family (10 of us!) and we were quickly seated and the service was great. The food quality was good, not great, but good. The only problem I had on the ship was the rocking motion while at sea. Be prepared to take something because you will need it. Problem number two, the outlets in the room are not meant for regular plug in items so you must get a converter from the cabin steward. This are in a limited supply so ask early. Our cruise included two nights at the Our Lucaya Resort in The Bahamas. Once we checked in (took about 30 minutes in line) the room and the resort were way beyond our expectations! Beautiful room, soft bed, and amazing pool. I never wanted to leave this place. Now here is where the trip took a BAD turn. We prepaid our bus transfer back to the ship. Forbes Transfers was the bus line. We had reserved seating for all ten of us on the first bus. I assisted my 88 year old parents onto the bus and went to place the wheelchair in the luggage compartment. Bus line employee, Portia, ordered me and my husband off the bus by yelling NO NO NO in our faces. She said we had cut in line and refused our travel on the bus. I tried to explain that I was traveling with my elderly parents and that I had their insulin, passports, etc with me. She refused to listen and would not allow us to travel with the family. She permitted numerous other passengers with later reservations to get on the bus until it was over loaded. Our luggage and my scared parents left without us. We caught the next bus 30 minutes later. In the meantime, our luggage was returned to the resort because we were not on there to claim it. So we had to catch another bus back to the resort. Portia ordered my husband to the back of line line again! We spent 5 hours trying to get ourselves back on the ship. DO NOT TAKE THE FORBES BUS TRANSFER. Take a cab. They are horrible and need some employee training. We reported all of this to the ship, but they have yet to refund our money or apologize for our missing 5 hours of vacation, lunch, and the abuse that we endured. On our last night we ate in RIOS. Emerson, the manager, made the evening so special. The food was superb, staff was friendly, and they almost wiped out the bad memory of the day trying to get back on the ship. I would take this cruise again tomorrow! Take some Dramamine and use cabs. You will love this adventure. Read Less
