Booked this cruise with friends that have cruised together for over 15 years. 2nd time on Freedom of the Sea, very disappointed at organization, reduction in service and offerings Really felt like they were trying to get the most out of you for the least amount of quality. Stewards and waiters were very good. Long lines for check in, asked for map of ship, no longer available, just a single ...

We booked our cruise to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We selected Freedom base on ports of call. We have been on multiple cruises on a variety of different cruise lines. The embarkation was easy and fast. The Freedom of the Seas public rooms were average compared to other cruise lines. Our luggage was delivered quickly and our cabin steward was good. Our cabin had a extremely bad odor ...

Poor Service, Sub-Par Dining

Not doing Royal Caribbean again. Disney and Princess do it better. Staff didn't really want to greet guests. I was usually only greeted once I said something first. The ship needs another renovation. I cannot say it was the cleanest ship I have been on, especially in the Windjammer. Our cabin was a promenade stateroom on the sixth floor. It wasn't bad, but the parties on the promenade got ...

this cruise line does not give you the information that you need before the cruise. we were never told about any of the special dress nights (formal, white-dress, caribbean). the cruise excursions were not scheduled the way it should have been. not enough time in ports that you would have liked to spend time and too much time in ports that you didn't need to spend much time in. spent hours in ...

There were a lot of problems with this trip. 1-Food was not good at all. 2-Kids all over adult places at all times 3-Somoking in casino affects other areas of the ship 4-Personel knows little english 5-Problem with water and flushing systems. Royal Caribbean now have a policy of open drinks and took the wine promotions off the main dinning room. We were a group of 32 people, ...

The buffet was really good, and the main dining room was good... although wait staff in general were lethargic and seemed to be sedated. Also, we bought the 3 night dining package and the Chef's table package... the 3 night package is not necessary, as the main dining room food is pretty good! And I guess don't tip the specialty restaurants, because they will charge the tip for the dining staff ...

I was among a group of 21 and we all felt the same. This was my second cruise with Royal Caribbean and after my first cruise I was anticipating the same wonderful experience well I was wrong, from the egg carton foam on our bed, the state of the ship as far as cleanliness, to the EXTREMELY SMOKEY casino I honestly felt I was on a smoking cruise in 2017 I was shocked that it was used as a ...

Poor planning and understaffed

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Freedom of the Seas

Low cost for Transatlantic and an invite from friends drove us to choose this cruise but 8 days crossing with mostly high winds and cloudy skies dampened our enthusiasm, Royal Caribbean did nothing to plan alternate indoor events for us. Trivia for up to 60 people is hardly an activity for a ship with this many passengers. Dining room staff was reduced so that waiters acted as order takers as ...

We have previously traveled on NCL and really enjoyed ourselves. We have never sailed with RCCL before but, we heard many wonderful things, so we decided to try Freedom Of The Seas. That was the first mistake. EMBARKING: When we embarked at 11AM, we were told our stateroom would be ready by 3 PM, it wasn't ready until 5PM and there was no announcement to let us know our room was ready. It ...
