We chose this cruise for Havana, Antarctic and Iguazu falls. Havana was scheduled as an evening in port followed by a full day. It was cancelled at the last minute and a half day in Nassau substituted. Not a like for like change. The tendered port of Ushuaia was a shambles, overcrowded and long queues for tenders in torrential rain. Iguazu falls was cancelled at the airport in Rio due to technical ...

We travelled on Deck 5 in an outer, windowed cabin, on Fred Olsen's Balmoral to the North German ports of Bremen, Hamburg and Kiel dep Newcastle 19 November. To say it was grossly disappointing would be to ignore the few highlights, but even they are too few to persuade us to repeat the experience.

Four days in I contracted noro virus. Medical centre nurse attended and told me not to consume alcohol. No time scale given. However after being released from 21 hours isolation following last symptom I had not recovered enough to even think about consuming alcohol.

Chose cruise as had been on the two previous Christmas cruise. This year 2017 lacked any atmosphere. Everything had been cut back, no sailaways. No chefs parade. Felt cheated. Very poor. Awful. I had the misfortune to sail to the Caribbean on Braemar just before Christmas. The ship had been in dry dock and was clearly not fit for guests.
