We travelled on Bolette's second voyage in the summer and were so impressed that we booked on board for this one. A voyage to the Canaries is always one of our favourites as it is around two weeks and is usually a sunshine cruise at whatever time of year.
Check in at Dover was simple and we were pleased to find that the 'probes' used in the Covid test were much more comfortable to use than the ...
We were originally scheduled to take this cruise in October 2020 but were able to postpone it with little or no fuss and at the price we originally paid. We had been on river cruises previously, but had not taken a sea cruise before so weren't sure what to expect. Check-in though lengthy because of covid requirements, was smooth and efficient, and to be honest the precautions were reassuring. ...
We had an amazing cruise with Fred Olsen family. The staff were very attentive and the service was excellent. The bathroom areas were kept immaculately clean. The ship only had 60% occupancy due to COVID-19 so it was more quiet than usual. There were plenty of activities which were I think were designed for the older cruise-goer. There were no children on board. We were in a basic cabin on the ...
Like many others aboard, we were just happy to get back to sea after the lockdowns and eager to sample one of the new Fred ships. We were quite influenced by the stimulating social media presence that the company had achieved during the pandemic - sad though it may sound, the quizzes was one of the highlights of our week!
We had travelled on P&O's Iona's maiden voyage a few days earlier which ...
We have completed this second cruise on Borealis, so am writing this with some further thoughts. The embarkation was a bad experience since the arrival place had been changed from the exhibition centre to an entrance between the Arena and the Convention centre, but we were not told in advance. We embarked on a day when there were some extremely heavy showers, but needed to leave our hotel during ...
First time with Fred Olsen and got a great saver deal. Sailing from Dover was so easy with excellent parking arrangements at the port and easy embarkation. This smaller ship is has a very friendly crew and staff. Excellent shows and entertainers in the bars and loung areas. Drinks and spa treatments are a reasonable price - much better than any other cruise line I have been with. Five course ...
Every thing was so easy. Arrived at Queen Elizabeth terminal and cases were collected from us and car taken to be parked. Walked straight into arrivals with no queue. Quick check in, told cabin was ready for us and lunch was been served in Grampian restaurant.
The food throughout the cruise was excellent. Portions are not huge in the restaurant but meal is 5 courses so you are never hungry. ...
Fred Olsen were recommended by family members. The fact that Balmoral sailed from Rosyth (near Edinburgh) was so handy for us and saved us a flight to Southampton.
Our cruise to Norway far exceeded our expectations and the glorious weather was a huge added bonus!
From the minute we arrived at the port terminal until the day of disembarkation, staff constantly went over and above to ensure ...
We chose to sail from Rosyth which was completely hassle free, on a glorious summer's day. We were happy with our outside cabin and didn't miss having a balcony. Room of a good standard. Always plenty of hot water for showers. All staff were very courteous and friendly. Food was good and I think we were very fortunate dining in the Spey restaurant as the picture windows gave us wonderful views as ...
We chose this cruise as there was a good chance of seeing wildlife. We were not disappointed. They had a naturalist onboard who spent many hours on deck looking for whales etc and then got everyone interested in looking also.
The ports of call were just right especially as we stayed overnight on the ship in Reykjavik.
The check in at Rosyth was so easy. Pulled up in our car and had the ...
