Words to describe our first time on Princess: average, uninspired, meh, just ok. We usually cruise on Royal Caribbean or Norwegian, but since Crown Princess had a sailing out of SF during our ski week, we decided to try it. Going in, I knew it would be a smaller ship without the activities of an Oasis class RC ship. What I didn't expect was how average it all was. Nothing blew us away.
We ...
This was my third Princess cruise, and this boat should not have 4.5/5 stars. It’s really worn with marked up and beat up furniture, musty hallway carpet, and rusted railings.
We had a mini suite and I felt transported to season 10 of the original Love Boat—in the 80s.
The crew wasn’t as friendly as previous voyages, they all seemed exhausted. Many of the services I liked on previous ships ...
This was my 11th O cruise and over 70th overall.
O began to scare me a bit here. We have generally been happy with the cruises over the years. This time here are my pros and concerns
Pros
- Crew service was top notch. We had a couple small things were we could not get served in the Martini bar but it was a one off. Wait staff was as good as any line afloat
- Piano bar performer ...
This was our third cruise with Oceania. Once on Riveria and the other on Marina. Those two cruises were wonderful.
We were impressed by the quality of the foods in all of the restaurants and the friendliness of all staff.
The daily golf games were fun and interacting with the other passengers was encouraged.
When we returned home we were very satisfied and thought of when we would plan ...
We had previously been on Scenic River cruises and were exceptionally pleased with every aspect of the trip. It was a true 5-star experience so we had high expectations for this ocean cruise. The ship can accommodate 200 passengers. On this cruise from San Diego to Vancouver, only 128 guests were aboard. BUT half of them were traveling for free since they were travel agents, so only about 60 ...
We chose this cruise because we live in Southern CA and it was less travel to be on a cruise. We haven't gone for a number of years, for obvious reasons, and looked forward to the days at sea, port activities, and the destinations. The first afternoon on the ship, we went to the "app" to get dinner reservations for that night and found out that we did NOT have dinner (table or time) for the entire ...
Think about the food this way: You will enjoy it if you liked what they served in your high school cafeteria! We did not enjoy the specialty restaurants either (we did Le Bistro and the “Brazilian Steakhouse”). The main dining room was only OK on a couple of nights. The Chin-Chin restaurant was horrible. Not a shrimp to be found on this ship. Smoked salmon? An extinct species. ...
My husband and I are in our late-30's/mid-40's, and we have been on 10+ cruises together. Our last cruise was in December 2019. This was our first post-Covid cruise. Also, our only other Celebrity cruise was back in 2015, and it was out of the Mediterranean. This was our first time taking a Celebrity cruise out of the States.
Pre-Cruise: We stayed two nights at an Airbnb in the Belmont Shore ...
This was my 12 cruise on Princess and they have always been great. Some of the problems on this one were outside of Princess' control but there's no excuse for the cabin problems.
The first day my cabin was cold but I'm not one to complain about things normally so I just let it go. Changing the temp on the thermostat didn't do anything. The evening of day one my TV went out. I suddenly ...
I chose this week long cruise to test Princess before taking a longer cruise in the fall. Immediately after the week was over I cancelled the longer trip. My “mini suite” was no larger than a regular balcony suite on Holland America. The water in the bathroom was scalding hot and they did nothing about it. Half of the public areas were so cold you had to wear a jacket or coat and there was ...
