I typically cruise with Celebrity and enjoy it, but saw this cruise with Princess out of San Diego and decided to give them a try, since I have heard that their service is comparable to Celebrity in many ways. With that said, I could not be more underwhelmed with this experience, especially after reading so many positive reviews about Princess and this ship prior to embarking on my ...
First, the good things. My wife and I chose this cruise as a winter getaway. We generally prefer 7 day cruises but a 5 day trip departing from New Orleans looked like a good vacation. In addition we decided to stay in an oceanview cabin and it was a good value. The Valor staff were all hard working and courteous. Every employee we encountered did the best they could in their role to serve ...
This was our first cruise and the experience was more than expected. Everything was so easy, from boarding to disembarkation. I don’t even know where to begin. Zack the cruise director was awesome (funny, witty, welcoming)….he totally needs his own show! Lady Ocean (Fun Squad member) treated everyone like they were part of HER family! Absolutely loved her. The cleanliness of this ship was ...
I am a Carnival Gold member who loves to cruise. Had it not been for COVID, we would platinum. A number of friends told us that we had to try Royal Caribbean (RC). They promised we would never go back to Carnival. Well, they were wrong.
The first issue we had was having our first port canceled. We were supposed to go to Progresso on our first stop. Royal Caribbean canceled the stop claiming the ...
I have FCC left over from Covid cancelations so it is a use it or loose it deal. I wanted to try Galveston port which I understand Princess has recently returned to. Last time here was 2007 for me. So I booked everything rom airfare to hotel, transfers, cruise, Princess plus package, no insurance. Flew from Chicago Saturday, day before. Went to luggage, man with a Princess sign waiting for me also ...
The staff recently had layoffs and pay cuts. This is felt throughout the ship. Our room attendant was so nice but his rooms went from 15 to 22 and this was the consensus across the ship. Our waiters were grumpy and frustrated that they weren't receiving tips. We felt bad and wound up not having our room serviced.
When we booked this trip, it was WAY more than on Carnival and I was ...
We are experienced cruisers with lots of RCL cruises under our belts. This cruise was as expected but a couple of things really left us with less than a positive experience. First the sound volume in the entertainment venues was way to loud, over 90+ DB. Making it loud didn’t make it better. Also they tried to get high tech in the dance club and had rapidly moving coloured spots on the dance ...
This was my 3rd solo cruise on the Divina since October and my 4th MSC cruise in the last year. All have been good, but this one was great, primarily because of the people I met and group at my table. We had a great time and did many activities together.
The boarding process was the fastest I have experienced. I arrived at the port at 10:40 for an 11:00 AM scheduled boarding and was at the ...
The crew are amazing. Let me get that out of the way. They appear to work at least 12 hour days and went to great lengths to help us on our stay. They are the redeeming factor of this whole experience.
First off, the price for this cruise was insane compared to other cruises. That made sense due to the IP and the Disney experiences you wouldn't get on another cruise. I wish when we were booking ...
We were very excited for a winter getaway to scuba dive in Grand Cayman and Cozumel and really looking forward to this trip. The food was very disappointing. Lemme say that I have pretty low standards and we usually eat something out of the freezer or a can for dinner. I eat mostly vegetarian and occasionally seafood. No meat, so limited options. The fish entree in the main dining room was served ...
