Like Royal Caribbean. Jewel was out of Port Canaveral and I like that port.
Price was right for Christmas.
Problem...........we were advised no Radiance ships have balconies that open to other cabins.
We travel with our family and love going between the cabins via the deck. Not happening on this cruise!
Now I am leary as to what other ships do not have balconies that open up.

We were very disappointed with our cruise aboard the Norwegian Dawn. This isn't our first cruise with Norwegian, in fact we have sailed on this ship before, but after this cruise we will never sale with Norwegian again as they main focus seems to be profit and nothing else.

Went with Marella to the Caribbean because they included Xmas day and New Years Eve which other cruise lines did not. There was chaos at Birmingham Airport as there were two Tui flights flying to Barbados within twenty five minutes of each other, queued over one and half hours to check bags in. Poorly organised. The first and last time sailing on Royal Caribbean.
*Food: more variety than most cruise lines but inedible, always served cold at the buffet and main dining room worse than a school cafeteria. I will start this review with the caveat that we booked this cruise very late in the game and would not have booked the cabins we booked if others were available.

We took a 11 day christmas cruise from ny, because of weather we were stuck in ny for two days before departing. No fault of ncl. Captain wasn't making any announcements concerning departure leaving us all wondering ????? I purchased the unlimited wifi for 240 dollars ?? It was the worst wifi i have ever experienced. Embarkation went smoothly. I was at the port at 12:30PM and on the ship by 1:00PM. My luggage made it to my stateroom by 2:30PM.
The ship was really nicely decorated for the holidays and the crew outstanding. AAA+
As a 60's + solo cruiser I prefer more of a tradition cruise experience and the Jewel fits that well.

We always wanted to cruise Panama Canal and were excited about the itenerary. We are long time NCL cruisers but oir experience fell below our seasoned expectations. We have always loved NCL.
The ship was recently renovated and we miss the wine bar. Decor is nice.
