First and Last Princess Cruise

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Ruby Princess

This was our first cruise with Princess and the first embarking from San Francisco. What a nightmare that was, we were scheduled to leave from the regular Pier 27 but the night before was told we were at Pier 35 which is just an old Pier. We did all check ins ahead of time and were told to arrive at 12 for a 12 to 12:30 assigned time. We got there a bit early only to find out they still hadn't ...

5 Star Service with 1 Star Food

We're Elite with Princess, Club/Reserve Mini Suite Level and sail with them 2-3 times a year and just returned from a 7 day Calif Costal Cruise. I have no problem rating Guest Service at 5 Stars throughout this cruise and our 2 previous cruises in 2022. Despite having access to the Club/Reserve Dinning Room, we've noticed that since the Covid reopening Princess's food quality and variety has ...

Repositioning Cruise

We chose this cruise because we live in Southern CA and it was less travel to be on a cruise. We haven't gone for a number of years, for obvious reasons, and looked forward to the days at sea, port activities, and the destinations. The first afternoon on the ship, we went to the "app" to get dinner reservations for that night and found out that we did NOT have dinner (table or time) for the entire ...

6 night repositioning cruise from Los Angeles to Vancouver.

4 generations of our family flew to Los Angeles from BC for a week in Disneyland. This cruise brought us home with amazing stops in San Francisco, Astoria and Victoria. We intended to use the cruise to recover from Disneyland but found that there was just too much to do on the ship and in port. We enjoyed one formal night which gave the little ones a chance to dress as a little gentleman (3 year ...

1st Princess Cruise - meh

First cruise on Princess (all prior cruise experience has been Holland America). I was asked to accompany my sister and her husband on their first-ever cruise (they picked this one). Pacific Coastal cruise San Diego/San Francisco/Astoria, OR/Victoria/Vancouver, BC. I understand that for security reasons my full legal name - as on my Passport, etc. - must be available to Princess for TSA ...

Quick jaunt with decent food and music

We chose this cruise because it fit in with other travel plans and we wanted to experience a Holland ship. Overall we had a relaxing time and would recommend. Embarkation was reasonable, but there was a moderate wait for getting through customs and a holding room for getting on the ship. Overall it took about an hour and a half from entering the port to entering the ship (finished around ...

Really BAD Food, NCL Theme is “SELL, SELL, SELL”

Think about the food this way: You will enjoy it if you liked what they served in your high school cafeteria! We did not enjoy the specialty restaurants either (we did Le Bistro and the “Brazilian Steakhouse”). The main dining room was only OK on a couple of nights. The Chin-Chin restaurant was horrible. Not a shrimp to be found on this ship. Smoked salmon? An extinct species. ...

Good anniversary cruise, but food quality needs to be improved

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

For our 25th wedding anniversary, my husband and I cruised the California Coast on Celebrity Solstice. We viewed this as a trial cruise, our first back since the pandemic. It was our third time on Solstice after cruising the Caribbean in 2011 and Alaska in 2017. The ship is worn and would have gone to drydock already if not for the pandemic. But she is still lovely with high marks for design. ...

This cruise was actually gifted to us so we were able to completely evaluate our trip/ship with an unbiased point of view. This ship/category is similar to that of the cruise line we remain loyal to, the service, food, amenities, shops and excursion offerings were all about the same. The ship is older so could use a little facelift, but that didn't really detract from the overall cruise ...

Celebrity Solstice Cruise - Absolutely Terrible!

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

I travelled with my mom on Celebrity Solstice (Los Angeles to Los Angeles) and it was our first and last time on Celebrity Cruises. What a huge disappointment! We both have been on other cruise lines such as Regent, Holland America, and Oceania and we both were very disappointed with Celebrity. My mom has been on 50+ cruises and we booked this cruise for the convenience of being able to get on ...
