Excellent ship and trip for our return to cruising.

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Koningsdam

We had actually booked a HAL Caribbean cruise in Feb, which we had to cancel, and we switched to the Classic California coast, as we live fairly close to San Diego, and we could drive to the port. This was our first HAL cruise, we weren't certain what to expect, but we wanted to try the line. I was attracted by the Music Walk concept, since I play instruments and love music. Our expectations ...

e had boarding in San Diego. I did all the pre boarding requirements on the HAL website and on VeriFLY. Our boarding pass said that a REAL ID-compliant driver's license was ok BUT the dock personnel did not seem to know that, we got shuffled over to another area and were finally told it was ok and we were allowed onboard. The Koningsdam is a nice ship and seemed to be very clean. We got to our ...

Trying Cruising Again

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Ruby Princess

We chose this cruise as it was round trip out of SF and we didn’t need air fare. Not sure what cruising changes would be and wanted a short cruise just to try cruising again. We had three cruises cancelled due to the pandemic and dealing with the airlines in addition to the cruise line to get credits or refunds was time consuming. The changes made by Princess were clearly for our safety and ...

Wife and I were looking for a nice getaway for thanksgiving, felt with covid this might be a good choice, and it definetly was. The requirement for being vaccinated and having a recent (2 day) antigen test increased our comfort level. While we could tell that they were still not up to full speed we had not issues and would due it and recommend it as a convient way to get away. Grew to like ...

To give you a little background on us and our cruising history: We are a couple living in San Francisco. At the time of the sailing, one of us is 55 and the other turns 50 this month. We are interior designers based in SF and work for ourselves. We typically sail on Celebrity Cruises and have completed 8 cruises with the cruise line. Most all of these have been TransAtlantics, which we ...

On November 7, 2021, we sailed out of San Francisco on on the Ruby Princess for a five day cruise with two port stops and two sea days. SF is convenient to sail from if you are local to the bay area or if you want to visit San Francisco and tack on a cruise. We parked in the garage at 80 Francisco, an easy 4 block walk to the ship. Be sure to book the parking in advance and bring a printed copy ...

Embarkation was incredibly smooth... the longest delay was the security screening and even with that plus our slow walking... we went from the curb to our cabin in 20 minutes...smoothest I have ever experienced...the medallion kept us flowing...It was especially moving to have ship staff from different sections lined up applauding and welcoming us aboard The safety Drill is sweet... just ...

Princess is back and it's great

A friend invited me to join this cruise and it was wonderful overall. The medallion class had a wearable medallion that opens your cabin door, recognizes you at a bar, cafe and other desks where staff interact with you and makes for a pretty smooth experience. A lot more can be done on your device app if you explore the software more. While thrilled to be back on the sea and comfortable ...

Good But Not Great

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Grand Princess

I was excited to sail again and was looking forward to Princess' new Medallion Class experience. Using the Princess app made pre-embarkation easy. Completing all off the forms and uploading ID photos in advance made check-in at the pier a breeze. Of course, there were only 565 passengers (on a ship with a capacity of 2600) on this short voyage so there were no lines. In California, proof of ...

Princess is working hard to welcome everyone back to the world!

We chose this cruise because it was only four days and we wanted to see how cruising has changed since the pandemic. What we've lost are big dance parties and chocolates on our pillows. We still have good performances, numerous trivia games, many movies, upgraded large TV's in cabins, and many activities. The cruise staff goes above and beyond to make sure passengers are entertained. The comedian ...
