Great Arctic circle cruise

Enjoyed the ports of call as there was great weather and scenery. We had minor rain only on one June day. Traveling above the arctic circle with having no sunset was expected, but still strange. You have to travel in winter to see the northern lights. The two most northern stops were smaller and more desolate, but the southern ports were quaint to larger cities with deep fjords and greenery ...

We chose this cruise for the destination, Norway all the way to above the Arctic circle. We also wanted to experience a new ship after seven previous HAL cruises. As usual, the demographic is "mature". There were over 800 Dutch passengers due to publicity and promotion in the Netherlands. We enjoyed the cruise very much, aided by exceptional weather and smooth seas. Here are our hits and ...

I gave the review a four has a compromise rating. We chose this sailing strictly for the itinerary and that truly delivered. This was our 38th cruise, 7th RCI and second on the Serenade, last one being the Inaugural TA in September 2003. Our last RCI cruise was on the Freedom in 2013. The difference between the RCI product offered in 2003 and 2013 was very evident. The difference between 2013 ...

The Koningsdam is a beautiful new ship. The crew is also new, therefore still needs to be fully trained. The service in dining room is quite slow requiring 2+ hours for dinner. The dining room food is good, but not excellent. The Tamarind however is excellent. There are premium dining venues that are poorly attended. There should be more included dining options. The Lido table cleaning is ...

Our cruise started with embarkation at the Mayflower Terminal which had been updated since our cruise last year. The embarkation process was smooth with just a minimal wait in the new, comfortable seating area. The whole process was well oragnised and within 20 minutes we were aboard and our cabin was available. Our cabin was an inside on F deck, F100 to be precise. This was our first inside ...

We sailed on cruise X512 to Ireland, Iceland, Faroe Islands and the Orkneys. This was our second P&O cruise having cruised with Cunard on a number of occasions. Joining the ship at Southampton was very easy with no rush or hassle. We used the valet parking which is excellent. One of the reasons we now choose to cruise is we were fed up with hanging around airports for hours and then getting onto ...

We just came back from a 15 night cruise to Norway, Arctic Circle. It was a relaxing cruise and we thoroughly enjoyed it, although it was not a perfect cruise. Then we always enjoy cruising, as there is so much to do and not a dull moment if U R flexible. The movies we saw were one of the best selection we had ever encountered and that include movies based on the life of Dr. M. L. King and Pros. ...

Embarkation at Copenhagen's Ocean Quay was fast and simple, we arrived at 10.50 and were enjoying our first drink at 11.30. The ship was, as expected, in great condition. The range of dining options is similar to other RCL ships and the food was good but not exceptional; there has been a deterioration in choice in recent years. This was our 21st cruise and will not be our last with Royal ...
