Crystal Serenity Solo Experience was excellent.

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Crystal Serenity

I just had the time of my life on this cruise. I am a 60-something widow and this is my first cruise sailing solo since my husband passed. He and I had sailed Crystal six times, on all three ships, and loved it. I chose this cruise because I was happy to see Crystal come back, Iceland is on the bucket list, and, well, it was time to get back out there traveling. I flew to Reykjavik two days ...

I wanted to do another UK cruise go to places like Shetland and Newcastle as I’m a fan of the TV shows and also Liverpool as I had not been there. I’m just about through with long haul flights so I tried to book on the Iceland/Greenland tour but at the time (Feb), I was told all the solo cabins had been sold. I waited about 5 weeks and cabins became available again and I was able to book that tour ...

Great trip of Norway and Iceland

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Star

This was a return to cruising after a few years, and it certainly won't be as long before the next! Cruised on the Star from Tromso to Reykjavik, and loved it. Food: always subjective, but thoroughly enjoyed Versailles MDR and the options offered there. Actually ate there a lot more than anticipated, as the buffet was so rammed at breakfast in particular. The crowdedness of the buffet was ...

Swimming in the aft pool on Deck 8, it was difficult to believe that we had reached the Arctic Circle with an air temperature of 27c and the water a pleasantly warm 24. For the entire cruise, the weather remained the same - how I regretted wasting space with gloves and base layers! This 12-day cruise offers plenty of opportunities to discover Norway and my overriding memory will be of the ...

This is a must do. The combination of landscape, safety, very good and healthy nutrition, calmness and a very interesting expedition and board programs is incredible. The excursions were great. Onboard passing a magnificent landscape and being always the number one customer is incredibly good. You see the fabulous coast line of Norway and pass the polar circle and Nordkapp. The menus and buffets on ...

Princess Cruise Island Princess Southampton rt to Ireland, Iceland, & Greenland August 12, 2022 16 nights I love my Holland-America cruises and they rank at the top of my list. My time on the Island Princess could upset the order. She is an older, mid-size ship. She didn’t appear old but for a few reminders in my bathroom and the broken steam rooms in the thermal spa. I prefer smaller ...

Arctic Adventure in Summer

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Nordnorge

In 2006, I sailed on this very same vessel to Antarctica. When I heard the ship had been refurbished in 2016 and was now sailing in the Arctic, I was anxious to experience "having sailed to the ends of the Earth" on the same ship. My expectations were exceeded on this cruise! Although the weather was a little bit less than cooperative, the sights of the Norwegian Coast were stunning, and the crew ...

This was my 5th trip to Norway having previously visited by North Sea Ferry from Newcastle (with car), Queen Victoria, Grand Princess and the Ryndam. Norway is one of my favourite destinations but I have always visited in Summer, so long long days. I have always wanted to see the Northern Lights and Hurtigruten offer the chance to see the Northern Lights on their daily coastal service from Bergen ...

Great Arctic Circle Cruise

This cruise took us to places that we would never get to visit otherwise, a truly once a life time experience. The North Cape, midnight sun and Geiranger Fjord are all unforgetable. We ate mostly at the main dining room. Food: Steak and fish at dinner are all excellent. Breakfast and lunch in the dining room have extra items, such as shrimp cocktail, whole strawberries and made to order ...
