The Sapphire Princess is in very good shape for an “older” ship. Sure, there were some stains on carpets and chips on tile, but on a whole I was very impressed. We enjoyed the fact that this Princess ship still maintains a full wide wrap-around Promenade deck (with only the need to go up and down a flight at the bow.)
Embarkation: the worst ever. Princess was not prepared for this, although ...
We joined friends and my daughter for this "once in a lifetime" Antarctic cruise. The big takeaway was the outstanding customer service throughout the ship in every venue: room steward, dining room hosts and stewards, Guest Services, photo shop, and internet booth. Across the board the staff at each of these went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and delightful cruise!
The Captain did a ...
Last year we cruised from buenos aires to South Shettland Islands with NCL on 2023 February 12th. It was a panoramic cruise but too intersting.
We watched a lot of whales in Elephant Island, great landscapes of glaciers and Cientifics bases in Admiralty Bay, penguins in puerto madrin, ushuaia and punta arenas, and a lof of birds during the trip.
We sadly cant arrive to Falklands Island ...
We wanted to visit Antarctica but was dreading the Drake's passage as one of us is prone to seasickness. So we decided to go with a suite on bigger ship instead of a cabin on one of smaller expedition class ship, giving up the opportunity to land in Antarctica. We had some of the best experiences on this cruise and some of the worst.
The best experiences:
(1) We had close encounters with ...
Sailed on Sapphire to Antarctica in December 2022. Overall, a good cruise despite cancellations due to poor weather. We missed Punta Arenas, Port Stanley, and Cape Horn. However, we were lucky to see wonderful land- and seascapes in Antarctica, going further south than is usually possible. At the time, the captain said we’d made the record for southernmost pizza delivery, as the ship was able to ...
We wanted to go to Antarctica for an affordable price and were excited when Princess started offering trips there again after 8 years. We took our 2 kids (ages 6 and 8) and my brother even brought his 1 year old daughter.
Pros:
1) Antarctica is truly beautiful and amazing.
2) The Falkland Islands were great and the tours are all in personal vehicles so you get a very small group as you ...
We chose this cruise to visit Antartica and had waited 4 years to go after a 2 year delay due to me having cancer. Our time in Antartica was very special made even more so by Mickey Live who was an amazing person and wonderful narrator. Also the cruise director Alejandro was simply stunning and made us laugh even when we all felt like crying. Embarkation and disembarkation was smooth and the cabin ...
We believe a cruise is what you make of it and if something happens, it is all a part of the great adventure. Consequently, I chose to forget the negative reviews I had read about the Infinity, especially those that referred to dirty grout or patches of rust. Did I see these things on the ship? Yes…but it did not affect my overall cruise experience.
We are Elite Plus with over 1600 points, ...
I was puzzled by the negative reviews about Infinity. She is an older ship and maybe does not have all the bells and whistles of the mega ships, but she is kept spotlessly clean, the food is great, the entertainment fine and the staff and crew could not be friendlier.
This is not a cruise for everybody, it involves a lot of sea days, mostly in miserable, cold weather with some rough seas. ...
