One reason I choose to Cruise was to have fun and try out new experiences, how is it like to be in a titanic a 5 star moving hotel. The first time you enter the ship the ship smells 5 star and looks 5 star all the way, the decorations inside are amazing you even forget That you are inside a ship. The embarkation que is horrible, you can't wait for a while before entering the ship, and didn't like the fact that they only open few service desk during embarkation. The stuff members are super great and friendly especially the man responsible for our deck 8, even when most of them didn't know how to communicate in English but they tried. MSC is one hygienic cruise hotel I ever seen, every corner you turn there is sanitation thats what I loved. The food is super Healthy and they don't compromise on taste, everything I ate I could taste that it's quality food. The dinning areas I loved them because you get the opportunity to dress up and be fine and finned, only problem is you have to buy soft drinks all the time, I don't mind them selling alcohols wish they could have gave us maybe complimentary soft drink for every fine dinning meal or 5 drinks per Cruz then the rest you purchase. I loved Eric the voice from above the program director all his shows were fun and entertaining. The parties organized by stuff were super great problem they only last for an hour. Deck 13 buffet area was home to most cruises and would like to give blow to the stuff there at deck 13 because they are forever working, especially the pizza guy 24 hours pizza. Our cabin was in front so every wave the ship cut through we felt it, and you couldnt stand straight which resulted in sea sickness, so would advice you to book balcony center cabin. The excursions on the island were expensive hence did not do them. I hated the fact that we did not go to Pomene Island and they could not take us to a different island like Maputo instead of Portuguese Island which had nothing to see the second day and the waters were unclean to swim at them. Pomene has been giving them a problem why don't they start looking for an alternative to island or take it out on your markets because when I booked I saw two island and wanted to visit two not one island. The disembarking program failed them a bit, stuff was not properly assigned to guide people were they should go,whuch made things to go slower. The photo package is expensive and it would be nice if the price could go down or be included as our take home package because we got nothing as complementary everything you have to buy. Despite all the negatives would still go and advice people to go is an experience you don't want to miss. Read Less

This was my second time on MSC cruise. This time the embarkation was a disaster. But this could have been caused by the bad weather. It took more than 2 hours to board. My daughter was restless and tired. The ship sailed late and was driven very fast, I think this was to catch up the lost time, this unfortunately made some of us very sick. Which wasn't great at all. The food/buffet was much better than Sinfonia. Musica was much cleaner and beautiful. The service was great. The cabins were much bigger which was a bonus. The down site was there was a sewage stench. Maybe they had a drainage problem. But you could only smell it outside on the deck not inside. The kiddies club did a great job entertaining the kids & keeping them safe. My daughter had a great time, she was sad to go. Overall we had a great time and yes I will do this again in the near future. Read Less

Overall I had a really good experience on the ship. However I am not happy/pleased about the following: Coffee & Tea & Juice from the buffet were terrible coffee tasted like hot water with a hint of coffee, tea was the same and the juice....I do not know what juice that was but it definatley was not juice at all. The care of passengers luggage is very poor and with the result two of our bags got terribly damaged and cannot even be used again (Baring in mind they were brand new suitcases). Bar staff on the outside deck were extreemly rude, yet Bar staff inside were super friendly and helpful. I would maybe suggest that the handling of luggage gets seen too as i think this is very unfair to the passenger. The buffet food was nice but a starting and end point need to be clearly marked so that other passengers can see which way to go as most times people would just bump into you and half knock you over. Other than that I had an awesome experience. Read Less

Cruised to Portuguese Island. Had a lovely experience. Food and entertainment was great! All aspects of onboarding and disembarkation were handled smoothly. Ship sailed smoothly and there was no need for sea sickness tablets. I had my parents with me abd my child..the cabin numbers are seperated into odd and even on each deck so lotsa people were confused as to where to find their cabin but we soon got the hang of it .the entertainment was great! Sometjing for everyone at all times. Portuguese island visit..we did not do and shore excursions but just spending the day in the water was lovely. The food buffet on the island was good and the food within the ship was good as well. We experienced 'sea legs' for about 4 days after disembarking..weird wavy feeling. Aside from the drink vouchers we purchased, there is tea, coffee and water provided throughout the day that does need you to use the drinks vouchers. Read Less

We did the Sokkie cruise from 08 to 11 March 2019....which was supper...mostly white Afrikaans speaking passengers onboard which all like the Afrikaans Sokkie Music.. so the vibe on the ship was great.. Cruising these days are not cheap any more and we staying in Pretoria so to travel to Dbn and back is also costing a lot. Therefor to make it worthwhile we decided to do the back to back cruise. Embarkation and disembarkation went well. We are pensioners and cruising a lot. The MSC Musica is a beautiful ship but we prefer the outlay of the MSC Sinfonias pool area more. On the day of embarkation the eating arrangements was quite chaotic...you were standing in long ques to get to the food just to find that some of the dishes put out was already finished...and to got a seat to sit down with your plate of food was even worse.During the whole cruise we never had a decend cup of hot coffee from the coffee stations. Hot water was kept in a non electric urn to make your coffee from.. and only cold milk was available...terrible...and most of the times there was no coffee powder available...you have to beg someone to find you a coffee sachet or two...only ready made American coffee...also luke warm ...was most of the times available. The juice at breakfast times is also a problem...either to sweat...or most of the times to watery...The food was good...not a big variety...same food over and over during the cruise..we only had fried fish once during the whole week...fried or grilled fish is much nicer than the steamed fish over and over on the menu during dinner times in the restaurant...give us a choice from the menu.. fried, grilled or steamed fish...What happened to the prawns on this cruise...we only had one prawn one night on a plate with a piece of fish and a calamari steak that nobody ate because the calamari steak was to chewy..you cant prepare calamari steaks in advance...rather make fried calamari rings...much better option for a lot of people...there was calamari rings for a starter but the portion was very small...we never got garlic snails or sushi on the menu for a starter ..may be MSC should put it on their menu....the south africans love it!!!!The sushi in the Kaito Sushi Bar was quite expansive...unaffordable for us.... The entertainment was great...specially the entertainment by the Sokkie team...Chambels en friends..most enjoyable..The Duo Resonance band was also very good..outstanding..most enjoyable..nice music for dancing...the best in a long time...it would have been nice if only they could have played alone in one of the lounges at all times and the Definition Band in another lounge...it gives everybody a choice to enjoy what ever they want to. When the Duo Resonance band was playing the dance floor was permanently full....that say something!!!! Overall the service and the staff onboard was good. I really hope that MSC can try to make things better in the problem areas....as we already booked the South Bound cruise in October on the Orchestra coming to SA as well as 3 cabins for the New Years cruise in December to Mauritius with our married children and grandchildren for my mothers 80th Birthday....as I said ...to cruise these days is costing a lot of money...!!!!so at least give us nice food and great entertainment... Crew members were not very clued up with information. Shore Excursions was very limited. More information should be made available on a channel on the TV Entertainment and Activities was very good Cabin very small. Was OK as we were only 2 adults, but if 2 children were included then the cabin would be very, very small. Beach towels were not replaced. Water leaking from the toilet which left the floor full of water. Not happy at all with our cabin, as it was suppose to be oceanview (Category 02 - ocean view) which was not. Feel that we were mislead. Not value for your money Dining - Buffet was not all awesome. Same food for lunch and dinner. On many days there were not enough fruit, tea, sugar, milk, and the coffee was very tasteless. Dining - Belle Epogue Restaurant, was stunning, food was tasteful. One disappointment was the prawns which was not at all cleaned, de-veined, and the smell was awful. A VERY SPECIAL COMPLIMENTS TO OUR WAITER SUDIANTARA FROM INDONESIA. He is really an asset to your company. Most friendly, helpful person with a great personality!!! Read Less

The embarkation was fast and effective, faster than the easy on board line. The friendly staff and customs was effective! Good job! The embarkation on the ship was confusing, taking the passport, taking photos and standing in a long que to collect the vouchers, rather leave it in the cabin to collect. The food was very good, as well as the service at the bar inside the restaurant, but very slow on the deck. The day to the island was wonder full, more than what we expected. I will recommend this type of holiday for a lot of people Why is the photos so expensive. When you don't buy it they throw all away?? Their are many people that look at the photos but don't buy. It is very nice pictures but really expensive. Think about cheaper prices as to throw everything away.. This is a negative point every time on the our cruises. Read Less

I heard about the cruise from a cousin who told me about the special that was running towards the end of 2018 and as a family we ended up going as a group of 15 cousins. The embarkation got off on a slow start because we were there on the scheduled time but after the bags were taken from us there was some delay and we never received information on why because the staff was there behind the counters but they were not serving us. From that point onwards the pace then steadied. Maybe in the future it would help to have more queue Marshall's because at one point it looked as if some people were cutting off the queues but in actual fact they knew that the 2 queues were going to the same point. The disembarkation went very smoothly. The use of elevators during peak times tested the patience of the most patient individuals. The ship is amazing and the time spent on it was not enough to explore all of its little treasures. The cabins were of acceptable size. The cabin staff was amazing, the cabins were kept neat. The dining rooms were well managed but a new strategy is needed for the management of the one on the 13th floor. The very first experience there was shocking because when we got on to the ship, the cabins were not ready and we went there for a meal. The queues were shockingly long and there were people who were done with their meal but were not prepared to vacate the tables which was really frustrating. The diversity of the menu was most welcomed as well as the continuous availability of snacking food. It can be recommended that fruits also be part of the snacking food as too much flour affects the digestive system. The entertainment was good and the welcome party was awesome, we even forgot that we were leaving dry land! We also enjoyed the stand up comedy. The available resources were sufficient to keep one entertained throughout the cruise. The staff was always available to offer information which was good. We will most definitely cherish the time we spent in the Portuguese Island and Pomene. It was really appreciated that the staff never ran out of ice! As we were getting back on to the ship from Pomene, the waves became a bit wild and that on its own was an adventure, it even made me consider doing the white water rafting! The staff was very calm and reassuring and that was really appreciated. Another awesome surprise for us were the cool face cloths as we were embarking from the ports. My family and I really had a great time and we would most certainly do it again! Read Less

We have chosen this cruise because we were previously on 2 voyages with the MSC Opera and Sinfonia and it was unforgettable voyages. The service and food in the Restaurant was very good and more than enough. Experience with the Musica was also good but we found that the food in the Restaurants was scaled down and our room service was not standard. Our cabin was neglected with the clean up when we got up. Another problem was that our cabin cleaner was not able to speak English and struggled to communicate with him. Entertainment was very good in the theatre as well as the singers who performed. The visit to the island was very enjoyable, as were the meals and entertainment. However, there was also the problem that we could not get chairs / seats at the pool as people occupied more chairs than they needed, sometimes it was also a problem to find a table with chairs in the restaurant to go for breakfast or lunch. The cruise has gone very well and will definitely going on more cruises in the future. We are planning to go on our 4th cruise next year. Read Less

Was our first cruise and we were overwhelmed by the luxury and entertainment on the ship. A balcony cabin added to the atmosphere. At dinner we were seated with 3 great couples. The food was excellent but our waiter was very slow. We ended up leaving almost last every evening. The shows in the theater was very good and we enjoyed all the shows. The entertainment in the bars also met our expectations. Service overall was excellent and nothing was to much for the crew. They did their best to accommodate all our requests. I'ts a pity that we never got to Pomene due to poor weather. Many guests complained that in up to 7 cruises to Pomene, they are yet to reach the destination. 7 out of 7 times the weather did not play along. - Maybe you should consider scrapping Pomene, People pay for the trip and never get there - Must be a huge saving for MSC. Awesome cruise. Enjoyed all the entertainment. The waiters were the best. Very helpful and attentive. The lounges were luxurious and the music was soothing. We enjoyed the shows at the theatre. The Portugese island experience was the best. The beach was beautiful. However would have preferred being dropped off closer to the seating and eating area. We would love to go on another cruise. The food was delicious and there was an abudance and wide variety... More curries and seafood would be good. My son's who are special needs really enjoyed their cruise. Its not very often that we come across people who are non judgemental of our kids... But I would like to say the waiters were kind and treated them with so much respect. We want to thank the crew for the attention to detail and their hospitality. It was our first cruise and would love to go another cruise soon. Read Less

We have not been on one before and wanted to do something the whole family would enjoy. Our concerns were naturally being sea sick, but the ship is so stable you hardly notice the swaying, and none of us had issues. The Embarkation took a lot longer than expected and by the time we boarded it was after 1pm and with child, we were irritable and hungry. The buffet hall was completely full and we resorted to eating outside the back end of the buffet hall. This however we came to realise was going to be an ongoing problem during the cruise... we never got to eat inside the dining hall as it was always full. So most meals were had around the pool area. The queues inside the buffet was another frustration.... people are total gluttons and this made our journey less enjoyable. At one stage I asked a staff member for if they had more walnuts as they has run out at both the fruit and yoghurt stations and all I got was "no", we don't have anymore.... I found this disturbing as we were day 3 into our 5 day cruise. So breakfast and lunches, whether onboard or on Pomene were negatives for us. Portuguese Island was a lovely day and the beach was nice and clean and the MSC provided shade was welcomed. Pomene however was the complete opposite. by the time we go there, just before 11, there were no shaded seats left. The queues for food and drink were shocking again so we decided to go back to the ship and spend our day there. At the Belle Epoque restaurant, we were always well serviced by Iyvin and Juzah. And we celebrated our son's birthday on the 12th and the restaurant staff and entertainment staff all made his day a special one. The Indian gentleman (I never got his name) who did our housekeeping was also wonderful and also polite and helpful. In general, we found the staff who worked the food and beverage to not be as happy and pleasant.. possibly because of the constant numbers and orders. The other negatives were the small pools, I was expecting more or larger given the volume of people on the ship and the gym was also limited in equipment. Maybe look into getting things like gliders, skipping ropes, kettle bells etc, that can be used for functional training. Otherwise the programmes were informative and overall it was an enjoyable experience. Read Less

Staff was excellent, well behaved, trained even when some passengers were rude towards them, service was great, ftom the rooms to the bars, to the entertainment. Really friendly experience from getting on board till we disembarked. Shows and entertainment was well organised, pools were good, but only abit too salty. everyone as being going on the msc cruise and gave back positive feedback so we got a special and grab it money well spent. The view you will never see any where in JHB or DBN its amazing. Nothing beats the fresh air out in the ocean. the ship was fully air conditioned so it was never hot unless you out in the open on deck 13 but it still had shady sports to chill under. The food wasn't that grand but def enjoyed the beef curry and the fruit salads however the restaurants wasn't good at all we was always disappointed in the food from the restaurants so we mainly stuck to buffets well burgers and chips pizza and hot dogs was available 24/7 everything is cheap on the ship including alcohol i wouldn't suggest u buy the drink packages as it works out cheaper to just buy ur drinks cash its like only 3 or 4 rands dif im sitting with so many drink vouchers still remaining. also people said hide you alcohol bottles in our bags and go in there was no need as the bottles in the duty free shop was so cheap cheaper than our own bottle stores i would say DO NOT BUY BOTTLES AT THE RESTAURANT u can get the 2 bottles for the price of one in the duty free shop we went to pomene island it was amazing the quad bikes is a must just the fun on riding on a dirt road is nice the water is amazing its really warm spent like 2 hours in the water didn't want to leave food is free on the island as well if you have drink vouchers u can also use it at the msc bars on the island motion sickness 2 people who came with us did get see sick but we just took medizine tablets and was fine again i would suggest when feeling sick just go out on the 13th deck and relax abit you will be back on your feet in no time Read Less

MSC Musica, what a majestic ship, you feel like royalty as soon as you embark, with all the lavish lounges and entertainment areas. The poll area that makes you feel you are on an island already. As you get on greeted by all the friendly staff, you just know this will be a cruise to remember. You will receive a program in your cabin every evening so you can the next days activities accordingly. This really helps so you don't miss out on any of the fun activities on board. The entertainment staff is called the "Dream Team" and that they truly are. THey can keep you entertained for hours on end. The service on the ship was great friendly staff in all areas sush as bars, lounges, spa and gym. Msc offers a wide variety of excursions of the ship as well. Please feel free and safe to try out any of these at an extra charge of course:) Traveling to the emabarkation port was quick and painless. you take a bus from the airport to the harbour for a minimal fee. this is a very convient service. The ship is always clean. Even the cabins gets cleaned by "fairies" as you never see the housekeeping staff. The cabin might seem small at first, but it realy is all you need as there is so much todo all you use the cabin for is to catch some much needed zzzzzz's :) If you get of a ship done by MSC and tell me you are hungry, you did it all wrong. (LOL) Dining experiences on the ship was awesome, from the more informal Buffet dining to the more refined Restaurant dining. All the food is prepared by top chef's. And after all that you can stiil snack in between on som Pizza and Burgers, that is almost available all day. Each night you get treated to a show in the theatre that will not dissapoint. Disembarkation unfotunately is a negative as you get up very early have breakfast with your eys closed and then gets basically shoved of in lines like some sheep being herded. All in all this was a great value for money cruise and I would recommend this to any one wanting to travel the open seas on a budget. Great work Msc keep up the good work! Read Less

Chosen cruise was a family cruise and loved it. Restaurants was well filled and had good service levels in the restaurants. Buffet was excellent although there needs to be some sort of system in place when collecting ones food at the restaurants. It can become chaos at times. The other one big thing was when boarding the experience was not nice as we did not know where to go stand when we arrived, nobody was outside directing people. we just had to figure it out. Cabin was clean, bathroom was a good sized. Entertainment was excellent and well worth the watch. Traveled with kids, kids enjoyed the kids section on the ship. We are planning to do this cruise again as this was our second trip thus far. The ship was beautiful and only negative I had was that there was no kids water section which the previous ship had. On deck entertainment was a little unexciting as i would have liked more interaction. overall the trip was enjoyable. Can't wait for our next sail date. Read Less

We took this cruise to celebrate my daughters first birthday. The cruise itself was good, but due to high winds we were not able to dock on the last day. As a result we had to spend an extra two nights at sea. With 2 small kids on board it became quite difficult to manage as we were not prepared for the extra 2 nights. The facilities were great, especially the kids club. We were most disappointed with the food in the restaurants. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t great either. The last day in particular was quite bad as the ship started to run out of food. Overall a good experience but not quite what we expected. We were made to cover the cost of beverages for the extra two nights which we were obviously not prepared for. Even though it was impossible to provide for all guests there should’ve have been care taken towards families with kids. Read Less

This was our first cruise and we really enjoyed it. The only problem that I encounter was on deck 7....I would suggest that all entries to the Casino to closed at all time. The Casino is a smoking area and is opposite the theatre. When gaining access to the theatre from Deck 7 children and non-smokers are expose to those smoke fumes from the Casino side. Other that, my first cruise was awesome and definitely cruise again and also will recommend cruising to my friends and family. Dining (1st seating deck 5) was excellence and on time. Here i must mention that the friendly waiters did really good job in serving us. All the meals ordered was correct the first time. We selected this trip as it was arranged by Bokradio and this is where it was advertised regularly as well as we are listeners of this radio station every day. The number of Afrikaans singers whom committed to the trip also contributed to our decision to go on the trip. The arrangements were excellent and as myself is a double amputee we were accommodated through early on board as well as preference treatment when disembarking at the Cape Town harbour on return. As a disabled person we were accommodated in a quite large suite and I could easily move around with the wheelchair in the room as well as the shower was also comfortable. The food, service and music was excellent every day. Thank you for also having a special place on the pool deck for disabled people it was needed and really appreciated. Just one comment I would like to make on the pool deck is that people should not be allowed to put towels and stuff on all chairs for their friends it should be first come first serve.I have seen this created some unhappiness with some people. We were traveling as a once in a lifetime family vacation. We have boys with wide age differences (29 to 14yrs) so getting everyone in one place that provides every level of entertainment was a challenge. We purchased FTTF which is worth the money (especially for a trip like this where standing in lines would make everyone cranky)so embarking and disembarkation were smooth. My 14yr old did not choose to enroll in camp (wish I could have forced him- it is so much fun for the kids and they are occupied and NOT by you) but he wanted to spend time with his brothers so I couldn't argue that, but in the past we have made a deal that is he spent 2hrs and didn't want to do it we would not make him-and he has never chosen not to enroll before-make your kids join. Food was as always plentiful and very good. Our 1st port was Cozmel and we chose a beach snorkel and lunch which was perfect -it was just the right time, the food was great and the tequila tasting was fun and informative-they were very accommodating of our 14yr old as well. The excursion in Progresso was the issue> started by being gathered in the dining room where our excursion staff spent the entire 45 min wait for our turn playing with little kids and singing shark, shark -sorry I don't mind occupying littles but they ignored all the rest of us and never gave info or answered questions so then down to the docks which were crazy and they couldn't seem to get us into correct size groups-ok not starting good but still optimistic. Get to the van and they have water and snack-very nice but the van is maxed on occupancy and non of us fit -the seats are grinding into our knees and everyone is trying to turn sideways to sit> off we go , driver speaks NO English no one on our bus speaks Spanish, we have a guide on with us who is giving us a description which is cool but all of a sudden we are at a police check point with full garb -guns over the shoulders-everything , and our guide says " I have to leave you now this is a police state" -what does that mean , he grabs some money off the dashboard-gets off and doesn't come back-we drive away. We try asking our driver and he speaks no English -I have my entire family on and no idea if we are safe or not! I am watching signs and we are still going towards Chichen Itza so I am not totally panicking so suddenly we are pulling over to the side of the road and stopping for times- the driver makes us understand another van is lost, we make him understand one of our travelers has to go to the bathroom (thank goodness I knew the word bano -and I'm not kidding) we stop at a roadside gas station and go again, we actually got to the ruins and our guide as well as others were there but they just rushed us through as we had lost time, we were maybe there 30 min's (our guide was actually with us-he had tried to tell us to walk around ourselves but people kept asking him questions so we did get to hear some about the ruins). Back in the vans and off to the Cenote swim, we were to have buffet lunch there, we have 45 min total to change /swim /change /eat and be back on the bus -WHY EVEN DO THIS? if you can't accomplish an actual excursion don't offer it! OK we change , we swim, we grab food -we are told if we are not at the van on time we will be left -now there are other tourists that are hanging out-we are literally on the van as they are going to eat -apparently someone waited for them. So ride back -still no guide , as we are traveling our driver is visibly nervous and we pull up on another police checkpoint and they are pulling people out of cars and have guns and dogs -these appear to be tourists, we are again scared to death , we manage to get through and are flying down the highways, we get to a pull off and our driver stops and our guide jumps on -he says we are late and the ship will not wait> we were all like we bought this through Carnival because they wait he say no-no they won't wait, the ship must pay too much to be here after they are supposed to - we have to hurry, so we pull in to the pier and run like crazy, through the market place which is locked up and they get us through some back door and out to the pier- the ship is ready to deport and there is a plank down but there is what looks like a higher member of ship crew arguing with a woman in a business suit and she is yelling run and he is speaking what is I think Italian but it is obvious he wants to pull in the gangplank. We get on and I will be honest I went right to my room to cry -this was an extremely expensive excursion and I was just done, no one in my family even wanted to talk about it. I went down to the excursion desk about 2 hrs later and told them what happened and a gentleman identifying himself as the excrusion crew manager stated he was on the excursion and it was absolutely perfect , he said he was at the pier when we got out and made sure everyone knew it was just fine- I have no idea where he was but he was NOT on our van or in the vicinity when we pulled up and he certainly did not make sure we knew it was ok. I filed a formal complaint and Carnival informed me they excursions are not a part of them -it is seperate , the excursion company sent me a letter about 4 wks after my cruise stating my complaint was unsubstantiated. CRAZY!! Do not trust anything they market -this was terrible!! When we talk about our trip no one every brings up that day-it was simply best left not talked about and I have waited 8 months to write this to calm down but I am just as mad about the whole thing yet today. We will travel with Carnival again but we will never trust their excursion team!! Noting the cruise itself was for New Years Eve and the boarding was smooth, we had faster to the fun for all our rooms so getting to the cabin was a breeze. My adult kids had fun and loved the casino. Wish my teenage son would have joined club -but he chose not to this time (club is great if you can make them go). Food was really a hit with all boys and the drink package was great for the adult 2- they used every drink allowed. Our Cabins were perfect we had a balcony for hubby, myself and 14yr old and the boys had inside plenty of room in both for all of us. Service folks are absolutely excellent ,never had any issues , cabin was always clean and ready for us. Our experience with director was one of the low points -really wanted to join in and be involved but he really focused on a different group. All in all we will cruise again -in fact in a few months, we will also use excursions just won't trust the advertising and keep it to very basic. Read Less

Always wanted to see Mauritius and love cruising. We had to fly in from Port Elizabeth to Durban and decided to arrive on Christmas day before embarking on 27 December 2018. The embarkation went relatively smoothly, except that the customs' computers were off line for about an hour. We had the Easy on Board tickets so that helped immensely. Disembarkation was a lot slower due to there being 3 other cruise liners in the harbour so the port officials had their hands full there. The luggage collection could be made better by having a larger space made available and wider isles inbetween the cases. It was rather chaotic with only 1 exit available. Our cabin was situated on the 9th deck and well positioned. We were 3 adults and were very satisfied with everything as well as the service. Service at our Table 505 in the L Oleandro dining room was first class. Our waiters Eko and Jay were fantastic. Eko went above and beyond his waitering. He never once complained about anything. Always had a smile on his face. The evening shows were okay, but the delay between the meals and the shows were too long. There should at least be 1 show during the day. We did not partake in any of the shore excursions as we found them too expensive. We did our own thing. Many passengers were saying they would have preferred 3 days at Reunion and only 1 day in Mauritius. The people of Mauritius were ripping the tourists off! Over-charging on their transport and water taxis refusing to accept coins. This we found absolutely ridiculous and due to these points will not go there again. Read Less

We looked forward to a longer duration of our cruise and had a wonderful experience. However, we were dissatisfied with the dinner seating issue which was eventually resolved. Embarkation was a bit of an issue due to Home Affairs being offline. The ship was great with plenty of entertainment on board. More caution needs to be emphasized to guests that have not booked shore excursions as we were caught off guard with taxi costs from Port Louis to explore the Island. We were charged MAU 5 000 (five thousand Rupees) equivalent to almost R2 400.00 for about 6 hours of touring. We found out the next day that we could have used buses not far from the port for just 38 rupees. Special thank you goes out to Melvyn Noronha and Atish from Mauritius; their service and hospitality were excellent. They really hosted us extremely well and made our bar needs priority. They have a very friendly approach and hosted us to the best of their ability. I take my hat off to these two individuals; they an asset to your company. On the whole, entertainment, cabin cleanliness and food was great. We will definitely choose MSC for our next holiday. With the exception of a few issues pointed above, we would like to thank you for the great holiday, we enjoyed it thoroughly. Read Less

The embarkation and disembarkation was a nightmare. Hours of standing in line in a hot badly ventilated warehouse. It was very unorganised with people jumping the line and no-one there to stop them. Disembarkation was late and we had to stand in yet another long queue in the Durban heat to get onto the shuttle that we arranged through MSC. We had a pregnant woman, 3 senior citizens and 2 minors in our group and we had to stand in line like the rest of the people while others received preferential treatment because of their size. We all paid the same price for the shuttle. This actually ruined the cruise for me. MSC needs look at their embarkation and disembarkation procedures, it was really pathetic. The food did not impress me whether it was in the buffet area or the restaurants. I would have liked to have had some Mauritian cuisine on the ship. But once again the staff made up for it some what. They were always helpful and smiling. We basically only went to the restaurant because our waitor Didin from Indonesia was amazing along with his assistant Read Less
