When we traveled with MSC in 2006 we already realized they are not at par with other international cruise lines, but we wanted to treat my mother with a cruise for her 80th birthday and booked a 5 night cruise with them. MSC deteriorated a lot since then and the embarkation and disembarkation was a nightmare for my elderly (80 and 85) parents. MSC seems unable to handle the crowd and there were no ...
Check in was drawn out - Computers kept going offline and dragging out the already drawn out process.
Food was utterly AWEFUL (vastly different from when we went in 2013), really - a HUGE disappointment! There was only ONE late night food option: (pizza - what there WAS of it) and a la carte dining was totally pathetic.
The "beverage books" that we bought were a joke! You had to purchase a ...
Due to it being the first trip of the South African season, it was really crowded and the embarkation was a nightmare. We were sent a message not to arrive before 10:30 due to the disembarkation. We arrived at 10:30 on the dot to long queues. We then waited. And waited. Eventually around 12:30, we were allowed into the terminal out of the hot sun and then queued some more. There were many ...
The reason for taking this cruise was to surprise my wife for our 10th year wedding anniversary, I planned and saved for a while to achieve this as it was allot of money to book this cruise as well as the excursion packages. I also bought a "Bon Voyage Deluxe Package" which included "One bottle of sparkling wine Pongratz Cap Classique, two MSC flutes (souvenir to take home) and tray of ...
Introduction
As background, we are experienced cruisers who typically sail in suites, predominantly on NCL and MSC. This is our third cruise on MSC and our third cruise in the Yacht Club. We booked this cruise about a year ago, before the ship launched. We previously booked a YC2 on the Divina and a YC1 on the Splendida. Both cruises were excellent. With a brand new ship and an expanded Yacht ...
Convenient travelling back home to South Africa from Europe.
We have cruised with MSC on a few occasions and have always had first class service.
The Service and quality of food on this particular Cruise was dumbed down for some reason.
We want to Cruise with MSC again and will do so if MSC can ensure that this will be the last time they dumb down the Service and Quality of food and all ...
Restaurant food very mediocre - poor quality and presentation. Vegetarian option attrocious.
Not good to have to sit with the same people for dinner for 23 nights. Need dine around option.
Far too much queuing for everything. Drinks packages very questionable.
Speaker - Hugh Mitford possibly the worst speaker I have ever heard - not surprisingly his lecture series was ...
Firstly the itinerary was excellent - including Suez Canal, Dead Sea, Seychelles, Mauritius and the highlight for me Petra, however Seychelles and Mauritius were marred by engine trouble which left only a few hours in each port, such a long way to go for such a short time.
We found the excursion prices quite reasonable (may be other writers' have not been on Cunard and seen their prices). We ...
We were looking to return to Royal Caribean for a much needed holiday. Having previously had a wonderful experience with Royal Caribean over 16 years, we were very dissapointed to join the Navagator of the Seas and find a ship so tired in many areas and in need of major investment. The presentation and quality of the food in the dining room also had a great deal of room for improvement. Our ...
