The ship was great, but don't go on this trip!

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

The ship was nice, people were great. Dining room dinner menu disappointed and we ate in the windjammer most nights. When we did eat in the dining room, it was good. The ship was on the small side, but it doesn't need to be bigger with ports so close together and one cruise day. First port, Hamburg Germany on a Sunday. All stores are closed on Sundays, forget shopping. Are you serious ...

Having had a brilliant cruise on Navigator last year, we booked to do the same itinerary with friends from Scotland. Our 19th cruise - and 8th with R.C. but what a huge disappointment - so much has changed. The admin staff were 'polite' to the point of rudeness. The ship was tired and dull - downright grubby in places. Mirrors in dining room had a film of grease over them. No real ...

We have sailed several times with the royal carribean and normally I love my cruise - however the last cruise I had in August, will sadly probably be the last cruise I choose with Royal Carribean - the staff as always were perfect and could not do enough to make our holiday special - however we had an unbelievable number of teens on our cruise who congregated each evening in level 8 - my floor - ...

Embarkation seemed to be going very smoothly and we were given our sail passes and made our way to the ship. At the gangway we checked the passes only to discover they had the words ‘Diamond Plus’ on them, we were unsure what this meant so on closer inspection discovered that the sail passes were in different names to ours and had the wrong cabin number on them but our photographs had been imposed ...

Overcrowded & Boring

After cruising with P&O last year we thought we would try RC. I travelled with my partner and my son. We are in our forties. We were given an ocean view stateroom and although clean it was tiny! From day one we realised the windjammer (more like the limb jammer) was a nightmare! Food was awful, people don't wait in line, no seats, basically chaos! I got breakfast one morning and walked round ...

Standards are Dropping

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

This was our 3rd cruise with Royal Caribbean, but will be our last due to the drop in standards that we experienced. Many of the finer touches are no longer being provided. Even simple things like nibbles at the bar to accompany your drinks was non-existent. Service in the Palace theatre was sparse with only 2 waiters serving the whole theatre unlike previous cruises when there were at least a ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

While the service crew were outstanding, and tried their hardest to make the cruise pleasant, the truth of it is that this is a Sea Bus. It is overcrowded (which makes good service very difficult), the ports of call are boring, with very little to see or do (a lot of passengers stayed on the boat and didn't even bother to get off), and far too much time is spent at sea (about half the days are ...

I particularly chose this cruise for the destinations, and the fact that it would provide activities for my 15 year old Grand daughter on her first cruise. She was very excited as had her all about the many previous cruises her Granddad and I had made with various cruise liners. She was greatly looking forward to her first Formal night, what a disappointment, not everyone in the dining room ...

Having cruised a number of times before my wife and myself thought we would give Royal Caribbean a try. Well lets start with the plus points first embarkation and debarkation were excellent hardly spent anytime waiting well done to all involved. Cabin was clean and tidy and always looked after well by our steward 'John'. All the bar staff and waiters were extremely polite and pleasant. Overall the ...
