Ship tenders and long waits

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

This was an amazing cruise and we were glad we went. But there are some things that RC could do better. Bus pick up in Venice-make sure you have luggage tags on your bags because when you give them to the bus, you will not see the bags again until they show up at your stateroom later that day. If you don’t have your luggage tags on, it will take extra time standing in more lines. To get to ...

Not so great service for a suite guest

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

I booked this trip based on past good experience at Freedom of the seas from San Juan to southern Caribbean. I booked the same room Ocean View Panoramic Suite (No Balcony). But the services I received in the ship is far less than the Freedom of the seas. 1) no special bathroom stuff such as shampoo, condition, etc., it is the same as regular room; no slippers, same regular towels that are ...

Great ship, sorting a few niggles would make it superb.

In a strange way, ships like the Explorer could be considered 'perfect' cruise ships. They have a little bit of everything. I read an article recently that said ships like Mariner of the Seas (and therefore Explorer) represent the best cruise value you can get at the moment. Everything you want is there, even if some of it could be improved to make it perfect. The famous 'promenade' layout of ...

I was planning this cruise for a year, but was back and forth between this and the Grand Mediterranean visiting multiple cities, but was finally convinced Greece was it after multiple adds and pop ups on social media, and quickly became the must see location for 2023...and was so happy I did, this was my first cruise of three as I was doing back to back I'm also happy Explorer was the ship, ...

Extremely disappointed

I traveled with my family(husband, 3 kids, sister, nephew and mother) we were in 3 different cabins and they could not accommodate us to be closer together, we were all in completely opposite sides of the ship. I was surprised to find out everything was additional (restaurants, coffee, drinks child sitting). Overall disappointed and surprised at the lack of entertainments. Needless to say the 4 ...

I have been on 10 cruises before this one, none of which were a Royal Caribbean cruise so I wanted to try RC. I was expecting it to actually be better than most of the cruises I have been on, as that is what my friends had experienced. However, it was the worst we had ever been on. The list is so long, but here it is. 1. My son received his GC for Christmas, so he “redeemed” his around ...

Another Great Experience on RC

Service We always have excellent service from room stewards, dining room staff, and other crew members on Royal Caribbean. They are friendly and leave a genuine impression that they are trying to give you a great vacation experience. We had only one miscommunication regarding changing our dining time, which they were able to fix without any issue. Some of the crew doesn't speak the very best ...

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

Without going into a lengthy explanation here are the higlights: 1. The food was horrible in every restaurant except Izumi and CHOPS (those cost extra). We had mold and hair in our food on 4 ocassions, cold food, wrong order, someone else's food, food so cold hollandaise sause was solid like an omelet, uneatable food and appetizers brought after dinner to say the least. 2. The ship is ...

The absolute worst customer service I have ever seen on any cruise line.

My family and I had booked the explorer of the seas hoping for a wonderful vacation over the holidays. Little did we know it would completely turn us off of cruising for good. The customer service was absolutely atrocious. When we booked our room we had made sure that they were joining balcony rooms due to the fact that I have a large family and one room would not be enough. The lady who we booked ...

Needs some updates

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

We chose the cruise because we wanted to be away for both Christmas and New Year's. The cruise accomplished that, but we were not as impressed with RCL as we have been in the past. Why? Here goes my list. (1) We had a balcony room, but the balcony was smaller than on other ships. Also, the bathroom was incredibly small. I kept banging my arms in the shower, and I am not a large woman; my ...
