We sailed out of Bayonne, NJ on 8/16/2012 so convenient being we live on Staten Island. I was a little nervous at first after reading the previous reviews for this ship. I was nervous for nothing. Explorer of the seas was hands down a great experience. Yes, there can be some improvements but it did not but a damper on our vacation at all.
My 2 children always wanted to stay in camp. They had so ...
We heard a lot of people complain while on this 9-day Eastern Caribbean cruise -- and though I have some minor complaints, I wholeheartedly can say I had a great time!
A little background: This was my 27th cruise. I have traveled on Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Celebrity, Norwegian and, back in the day, the Bermuda Star Line. My 84-year-old mom (this is her 37th cruise) takes my family on at ...
Hi all! Here is my review of the 9 day Bermuda- Caribbean cruise. This is only my second cruise, both of which were on EOS. As everyone else says, boarding at Cape Liberty was smooth and quick. We got to the port at around noon, and were on the ship within 30 minutes.
As far as the ship- she is still lovely. I thought the staff did an excellent job of keeping her clean, and yes, she is showing ...
Embarkation:
It seems that Cape Liberty is making things a lot easier as far as getting through the terminal. I still think they can do better about getting you to the ship i.e. the famous bus ride. You would think they would work out a way to bring the ship back a little, so we could just walk to it like they do in Baltimore.
The ship is showing its age but as far as being clean...everyday ...
This cruise was so much fun! We are a family of 19-10 adults and 9 kids. There was plenty of activities for the kids throughout the day, that we basically saw them at dinnertime. We ate every night in the MDR, portions were small, but our waiter would bring extra entrees for us, even if we didn't ask.
Service was fabulous! Both waiters and housekeeping couldn't do enough for us. The windjammer ...
My family enjoyed a fabulous 9-day cruise on Explorer of the Seas June 21-30, 2012. Our kids are 15 yrs and 12 yrs and they can't stop talking about it. Since I found these member reviews so helpful before my trip, I wanted to share my cruise experience with you.
Pros:
- There is truly something for everyone. The list of daily activities in the Cruise Compass was endless. If you have ...
Parking & Embarkation: Very easy to drive to the lot and parking was a breeze. It was quick and easy to get on the ship. We headed straight to the Windjammer for some lunch around noon. Room was ready at 1:30.
Room: Nice and clean. Having a balcony was a big plus.
Dining: Had the late time dining which was great. The schedule allowed us to see shows before and after dinner. Waiter was ...
first off just want to start by saying this is not my first cruise with Royal Caribbean. Have sailed their smaller ships leaving out of Florida. First time leaving from Cape Liberty.
O.K. So everything seemed to be going great. Parking lot is right by ship. Dropping your luggage off with porters looked more confusing then it actually was. After dropping luggage off then off to park car. After ...
Returned from a family cruise today onboard RCCL'S Explorer of the Seas. I'll break down the review day by day.
DAY ONE - CAPE LIBERTY:
Left home 10:00am with car service to terminal, arrived there shortly before 11a:00am, dropped off outside the large tent, left suitcases with porter, went through security, then get SeaPass cards, have group photo taken, then sat in the priority embarkation ...
This was our first cruise we traveled with our 13 and 14 year olds. I was worried if the ship would be great due to other reviews on here. Just to get this out right off the back. If you're picky and looking for a top of the line ship with a brand new look and top of the line food then you need to keep looking. This is not to put down the ship at all I just felt the people that complained where ...
