Three IS the Charm

What a great cruise, our third time on the Explorer and it just keeps getting better! Embarkation was a breeze, on the ship within 15 minutes of being dropped off. We were treated with beautiful weather, even the sea days down and back were a lot warmer than we anticipated, that was definitely a bonus. The best part of this ship is her crew, they are some of the best we have sailed with in over ...

This was our 3rd trip on the Explorer of the Seas within a year. She is a beautiful ship, however it is getting close for time for a refurbishment. You can see wear and tear in the carpet, bathroom facilities, elevator buttons, etc. First, I would like to say thanks to a couple of people that don't normally get noticed. Would like to start off with Wendy, the Loyalty and Cruise Sales Manager, we ...

This was probably one of our top 3 cruises to date. This was our fourth time on the Explorer of the Seas and our next cruise in September 2014 to Canada and New England will also be on the Explorer. Yes, the ship shows its age and lack of recent refurbishment, but true beauty comes from all facets! The Explorer crew is one of the nicest, best crews we have experienced recently. The Cruise ...

We recently sailed for the third time on Explorer of the Seas and had a great cruise. Embarkation was efficient. Ship was clean and in very good shape. The crew was one of the friendliest we have experienced. The Captain Henrik Loy was great. He gave daily televised briefings that were informative and interesting. The cruise director Leigh was good and his sidekick Erky from Turkey was ...

Our cruise started with a smooth embarkation. Entered the terminal, check in and onto the bus to take us to the ship. Found our cabin with no problems. We had a Promanade cabin on deck six. Unfortunately when I looked out the window all I could see was the sign that said "Royal Promanade" and the guest relations desk but I did not plan on spending a lot of time looking out the window. The ...

This was my 3rd trip on Explorer, and I have one more booked before she leaves us in November 2014. I always get the same aft facing balcony #9690, as I enjoy that majestic view of the wake of the ship behind us. Could watch that all day long~~ If you've never treated yourself to this type of cabin, go for it! (another secret: the balcony is huge. has deck chairs in addition to the normal chairs ...

We were on the Explorer from 11/3 - 11/14/2013. Overall we found the trip to be excellent. We drove from Buffalo to Bayonne and stayed overnight in Stroudsburg, PA. WE parked at PREMIER PARKING about 1 mile away from the port. Our experience with this company was excellent. Embarkation: Smooth and quick until it was time to actually board the ship. We got a card with number 22 for our order to ...

My husband and I sailed on the Explorer of the Seas on the November 23, 2013 sailing from Bayonne to Labadee, Samana, St. Thomas and Puerto Rico. The itinerary also had four sea days which were really nice. We stayed in Owners Suite 1600, which was a great location. I added a more detailed room review with a link to photos separately. The ship is in great condition given her age - if you look ...

We just returned from a 9 night cruise to Bermuda, San Juan, St. Martin and Labadee. Overall we had a wonderful time but I thought it necessary to share some thoughts regarding the areas that really need some improvement. Our family consists of myself, my husband and our 7 year son. We have cruised many times and this was our 2nd cruise on the Explorer and with Royal Caribbean. Our last cruise ...

We had Grand Suite 1268 and loved it. We had sailed that cat couple times 10 years ago on Voyager. Grand Suite gets Gold Card for entry and perks during cruise. Cabin space and balcony room excellent. We arrived at Bayonne about 11:30, spent 1/2 hour crawling in car line until at baggage drop off area. Baggage drop off easy then drive around corner into long term parking $19 a day. The lots could ...
