"We've never been on a cruise where the cabin steward did not introduce himself to us on the first day (and we've been on over 20 cruises). In addition, there was no foot towel for our first day, and there were missing hand towels twice...."Read More

Our recent Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas cruise was an unforgettable journey, filled with thrilling excursions, cultural immersion, and the luxurious comforts of the ship itself. Every detail, from the attentive service to the exciting destinations, contributed to an incredible experience that exceeded my expectations. From the moment we stepped on board, the dedicated crew made us feel ...

Not the best RC cruise I’ve experienced

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

I choose this cruise as it was a “sisters” cruise and the timeframe was perfect. Getting to embarkation was harrowing! I can’t blame RC but the port of Miami needs to seriously address the ingress /egress and congestion. It took an hour to go the 4 miles from the hotel to the port! We had the Key, so once we arrived- we quickly boarded. Lunch for Key in the MDR was just ok. I was ...

Disappointing

The overall cruise was disappointing. I ordered room service almost everyday on the cruise ship and each time the food was cold. They give you leftover fries and wrap them in plastic after they warm it up. Room service took about an hour each time I ordered and food was still cold.. food selections are horrible.. no real restaurants besides the steak house. Beverage Drinks are made up for you ...

Great Adventure

We were originally scheduled for February 2020 and again in 2021 but they were both cancelled due to COVID. Finally getting our itineraries together this time schedule worked perfectly. We enjoyed 99% of the trip. The staff was wonderful from customer service, room attendants, wait staff, spa personnel, and doctors all going out of their way to make it a joy. Great excursions and plenty to do ...

The absolute worst customer service I have ever seen on any cruise line.

My family and I had booked the explorer of the seas hoping for a wonderful vacation over the holidays. Little did we know it would completely turn us off of cruising for good. The customer service was absolutely atrocious. When we booked our room we had made sure that they were joining balcony rooms due to the fact that I have a large family and one room would not be enough. The lady who we booked ...

We chose the cruise because we wanted to be away for both Christmas and New Year's. The cruise accomplished that, but we were not as impressed with RCL as we have been in the past. Why? Here goes my list. (1) We had a balcony room, but the balcony was smaller than on other ships. Also, the bathroom was incredibly small. I kept banging my arms in the shower, and I am not a large woman; my ...

A hidden gem among the fleet

I was incredibly nervous about going on Explorer with our kids, knowing it hadn’t been revamped yet. Yes it doesn’t have waterslides or laser tag or other things the bigger and newer ships might have, but they had excellent food and service which was way more important! We had gone on Oasis in February and the food was very disappointed- my blueberry pancakes were so over MICROWAVED that they were ...

RCCL cruise quality slipping ... VOOM is garbage

Explorer of the Seas 17 April 2022 sailing. Masks were optional ... YEAH ! This was our 8th cruise on RCCL. SJU-St. Maarten- Sea Day-Aruba-Curacao-Bonaire-Sea Day-SJU. My initial impression is that RCCL - Explorer of the Seas is saving money in the wrong places. RCCL post-COVID is not equal to RCCL pre-COVID. Staff seemed over-worked and stressed and the boat was only 75% full. Food in ...

We chose this cruise/ itinerary as a result of “lift and shift” from a canceled cruise. I did not realize the week was school spring break! So the ship and excursions were crowded. Next time - I’ll check. Originally we booked an ocean view room. We had the opportunity to “Royal Up.” Our offer was accepted and were were in a VIP panoramic suite 440 square feet. . Very nice. 10 floor to ...

I am writing to share my experiences being on the Explorer of the Seas out of San Juan at the end of January 2022. My original booking was for April 2020, just as the pandemic shut down the cruise industry. I ended up canceling because of pre-existing health issues the morning that Royal Caribbean announced they had canceled my sailing – later in the day. Because of the timing, I was not ...
