Disappointing

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

This was my fifth cruise and overall and by far the worst. It was my first time cruising with Royal Caribbean and may well be my last. From the un-organized boarding and un-boarding of the ship to the lack of activities and overall poor service. I will say the dining wait staff and cabin tender were all excellent. I also liked the drink packages available and the option to purchase all photos for ...

Dirty Boat, Poor Service

Well I have to report that this cruise was very disappointing. Not considering the cruise port itself, I think that will improve greatly when the new terminal is completed. Our cabin was clean and our Steward (Stanley) did a great job. We had an old tube type TV that cut off the sides of some of the programming. We found the public bathrooms to be the biggest disappointment. On three occasions ...

Disappointed with Explorer of the Seas on our first cruise....

This was our first cruise and we were traveling with 14 other family members. I will start with what we DID enjoy - the food and service in the dining room was outstanding. Quick, efficient and delicious. Leigh, the cruise director, and his counterpart (Erky from Turkey) made the shows and Game Shows funny, entertaining and seriously made everyone in our party laugh - from adults to kids. The ...

Dropped the Ball and tainted a 25th anniversary

My wife and I have sailed on Royal Caribbean several times before and are Gold Members. Last years trip to the Western Mediterranean was amazing with a few small glitches. This years 25th anniversary cruise aboard the Legends of the Sea to Bermuda was absolutely horrible and after speaking with other passengers, I find we were not alone. I booked this cruise as a surprise for my wife’s and I 25th ...

This was our first cruise with RCL. We have cruise 6 other times on various lines. We were excited to take our first RCL cruise as we have heard wonderful things from other cruisers. The experience in total was incredibly disappointing. Our room steward and the kids club staff were excellent. The other staff members we encountered seemed confused, misinformed, and generally exhausted. Although ...

I have taken a cruise on Explorer of the Seas before. This ship has gone down hill big time. Me and my boyfriend went on this cruise for his Birthday. I had ordered Celebration Items prior to the cruise. Only 1 out of the 3 items were in the room when we arrived. I decided to wait till the end of the night (that being midnight) to see if the items would arrive at a later time in the day. Nothing ...

Very Disappointing Experience

My husband an I salied with Royal Caribbean for the first time at the end of Septemeber. I'll start with the CONS: 1. The embarkation process was like being in a herd of disorganized cattle. We arrived at the port at the designated time slot we were given based on the floor our cabin was on. We were given a number and told to have a seat. We sat for over an hour. People who arrived well after us ...

August 16th we went on a "No Fly Cruise" on the RCCL Explorer out of Bayonne, NJ. What a mistake!! We drove to the port and parked in the adjacent lot. Embarkation was fairly quick and easy. It was the worst cruise we had ever experienced. The itinerary was ok, 9 nights to Bermuda, St Martin, PR and their private beach in Haiti. The weather was ok and we got out of the area before hurricane ...

Such a majestic ship! You must have been a beautiful fair maiden in your earlier voyages. Sometimes you must learn how to bow out, and rest awhile, so that you can be restored to your greatness, for you are owed that honor, for being such a gift for your travelers. Unfortunately, you were commanded to be pushed way over your limits, so I will begin: your plumbing was in such poor condition that ...

Overall we were happy with our voyage.Started out by locking my keys in the car in Cape Liberty parking lot. Met a few good friendly people who tried to help! Thanks Angel. My 54th Birthday with my wife, daughter, and youngest son. We sailed Freedom 2 years ago together for my sons 16th. The kids loved it. The Explorer is a smaller class ship. Yes. she is a little older, but we found the RC is ...
