Service We always have excellent service from room stewards, dining room staff, and other crew members on Royal Caribbean. They are friendly and leave a genuine impression that they are trying to give you a great vacation experience. We had only one miscommunication regarding changing our dining time, which they were able to fix without any issue. Some of the crew doesn't speak the very best ...

Here’s my review of our cruise on Explorer. We sailed from Miami (Terminal G) from July 3-9. Fast facts: • We stayed in an Owner’s Suite (cabin 1292 on Deck 10). • This was our 4th RC cruise: 2 on Symphony, 1 on Brilliance, then this. We went from Platinum to Emerald on this cruise, and will go to Diamond after our planned November cruise on Symphony. • We’re empty-nesters, so no ...

For comparison, we are a family of four, myself (51), wife (50) and two boys (14, 16) who selected two balcony cabins (9670 and 9672). Fully vaccinated. Tested negative to PCR tests 48-hours before sailing. Embarkation - In the RC app, you are asked to select your arrival time and are reminded several times, via the app and email, to show up during your selected window. The earliest time I ...

This was my 1st cruise we upgraded to a Jr Suite abd our accommodations were stellar!! LOTS of room. Only complaint was they could not get the air regulated and it was too hot. We were really glad we decided on a balcony. The ship was nice and we found plenty to do on the ship. I had many spa services and enjoyed everything other than high pressure sales. In fact, I thought that the entire ...

First the downs. My disabled husband and I took a 5 day Bahamas cruise on Explorer of the Seas for a little birthday/holiday getaway. It was an interesting adventure just to get started. We originally booked a cruise out of Tampa, but this cruise was cancelled by Royal Caribbean. I discovered this on my own while trying to access some info. I don't know when they were going to inform us. ...

Aging ship, ready for refit

Overall, it was a good cruise. Good value, good time. Great staff who worked very hard. My comments will include some suggestions and minor complaints. I would do it again, and probably will. The ship is aging and will have a 40 day refit beginning in March 2015. She needs it. Here are some things I wish I knew before booking. I hope it helps someone else. Boarding started at noon. You should ...

We booked this cruise several months ago because we got a very decent rate on a JS. We like to cruise in December to both celebrate my birthday and rest up for tax season (DH is a CPA). The Bahamas is not our favorite destination; we booked knowing we'd probably never get off the ship (we didn't). Pre Cruise Roughly a week before we sailed, someone on our Cruise Critic thread noticed the ...

First time cruiser and definitely not the last!

I got the opportunity to take my first cruise on the EOS out of Bayonne (Cape Liberty) in March 2014. The weather at the port was chilly but that didn't stop the sun from reddening my face. I was jacked to get on the ship and take a vacation that had been 7 years in the making. I had never cruised so all I had to compare was reviews...on a side note....90% of the people in these reviews are just ...

This was our 4th cruise with Royal Caribbean and the first three were all great!!! Now, we have experienced something a bit different from what we were expecting….. This was not the cruise vacation we had expected, but then again, maybe our expectations were overly high. Don’t get me wrong, the vacation was not horrible. But it also wasn’t spectacular. Disclaimer: this review is entirely my ...

SHIP BEAUTIFUL, MOST STAFF TERRIFIC

Even though this ship is considered "old" in the Royal Caribbean fleet, I did not note any age. I did not observe any dated or faded décor. We had a balcony cabin, which was spacious and kept spotless. Our sons had an oceanview cabin and again was spacious, as well as spotless. Their housekeeper even folded their clothes! We tipped extra in the end for both cabins. Our housekeeping steward was ...
