Seriously Spoiled!

Review for Viking Octantis to South America

Viking never fails to offer an exceptional cruising experience. From their all-inclusive itineraries to their casual/fine dining, Viking, in our opinion, is heads and tails above the competition. We love having our flights, transfers and tours all organized for us. And, we enjoy the casual, sophisticated ambiance of the ocean cruise. Truly, Viking offers like-minded people an opportunity to ...

Beautiful new boutique ship

Review for Viking Octantis to South America

A change in itinerary gave this trip a total of 10 consecutive sea days. I wondered whether that would prove to be too many for us and whether we would be bored on a small ship with only a handful of fellow passengers. Turned out I should not have worried. The Octantis is very comfortable and perfectly familiar to anyone who has cruised on Viking Ocean previously. The small size made for a ...

Review for National Geographic Endeavour II to South America

Overall, the cruise was great (crew, food, expeditions, staff, etc)....my problem is with the room and, more specifically, Lindblad's deceptive advertising that resulted in my girlfriend and i paying around $8000 more for a standard room. Don't be fooled, despite what Lindblad shows on their website, other than suites, all rooms on the ship regardless of "Category" are exactly the same and they ...

Review for Delfin III to South America

Wife and I spent 3 nights on Delfin III in Feb 2022 as part of an Avalon tour to Peru. We are in our 60s and cruise alot but this was our first river cruise. We had a great time and highly recommend this cruise! Delfin holds 44 pax but there were only 20 on this cruise due to covid restrictions. We were with another US couple on Avalon tour and rest of passengers were from Peru or Argentina. ...

Superb in every way

Review for Celebrity Flora to South America

The whole Celebrity Flora Galapagos experience was superb, from pick-up at the Quito airport to drop-off at the end and everything onboard the ship (except swallowing sea water and getting the runs from the plankton but the doctor took great care of me). One of our best vacations ever. We did back-to-back sailings to get both itineraries, first outer, then the inner loop. The outer loop was ...

My wife and I spent 7 glorious days for a 40th anniversary present to each other on the Flora. It was absolutely perfect. If I could give it a 12 on a ten scale I would. There were at least 2 memorable excursions each day to uninhabited islands in the Galapagos archipelago. I can say this categorically, if you don’t like spending quality time with endemic species this is probably not the trip for ...

Exceeded Expectations

Review for Celebrity Flora to South America

You should be aware that Celebrity Flora is unlike any other Celebrity cruise. It is an ultra-luxury, all inclusive, location specific expedition ship. What does that mean? Incredible service, incredible food, incredible included shore excursions and tours (they even provided us with wet suits for our comfort while snorkeling!) and all sorts of options. We also enjoyed two nights at the lovely ...

An amazing experience in an amazing place.

This was a heck of a trip. We have decided it was the best we have ever taken. On the final night on board Captain Patricio (one of the nicest guys you will ever meet) talked for a few minutes about how he feels about the Galapagos. He said that (paraphrasing here) that “the Galapagos should be the model for the rest of the earth. A place where every animal and bird has learned to live together. ...

Outstanding cruise with a quarantine ending

Review for Stella Australis to South America

We were the last sailing of the Stella Australis for 2020 from Ushuaia to Punta Arenas. We were lucky to have great weather. The ship's capacity is 200 passengers with 65 or so crew but we were fortunate to have less than 100 passengers. Embarkation was smooth, including a temperature check to be sure no one was sick, and we really liked our cabin on the 4th deck (it was worth paying a little ...

Discordance between goals of passengers and goals of expedition leaders

Review for National Geographic Quest to South America

User Avatar

After doing substantial research, including talking extensively to a Lindblad employee who had been on this trip, we chose this "expedition" to see as much of the Belize reef as possible. However, we did much less snorkeling than expected and only some of what we saw was worthwhile. Our first day of snorkeling was cancelled due to supposedly windy conditions at the reef. Instead we were ...
