The only ship of this capability and what an opportunity so we had to take advantage of it. The following describes the actual experience we had. Flight from Paris We were offered the opportunity to pay to upgrade to business class and accepted it, the flight was supposed to leave at 10 a.m. but we did not leave the terminal, on a bus, to the plane until after 10:05. We had to carry ...

Disappointing--very little was photogenic

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Ocean Endeavour (Adventure Canada)

I took Adventure Canada’s High Arctic Explorer cruise from August 5 to 16, 2023 and was very disappointed. (Note: from Resolute to Kangerlussuaq.). The scenery was almost never worth photographing, and there was very little wildlife to see. I freely admit that I made a basic mistake—I didn’t research the itinerary. Anyone considering going to the Arctic or Antarctic should first watch the ...

We have travelled with Hurtigruten before (MS Spitsbergen Norwegian coast) but this was sooo much better. We boarded in Reykjavik and it was a little chaotic - a free for all. We were in an Expedition Suite (ME class) which was lovely. Bed was very comfortable, as were the chairs. There was a minibar fridge which was stocked with soft drinks and beers, 4 bottles of wine and jars of nuts. These ...

Fantastic Ship, great destination

Review for a Arctic Cruise on National Geographic Resolution

We wanted to go to Svalbard and be on a small ship so Lindblad respresented a great choice for us. The Resolution is beyond anything that I could ever imagine. It is so luxurious and sails so smoothly. The way it cuts through ice is amazing. The naturalists and the national geographic photographers were wonderful to work with and were always friendly. The food and services were fantastic ...

Ship is nice and comfortable

We chose hurtigruten cruise because of the destination - Iceland, and past experience with Norwegian coastal voyage. Unfortunately, while the ship is great, our outside cabin is specious with lots of storage, the human component is the Disaster! Starting with the ship docking in the different port from what we have been advised by hurtigruten. Hurtigruten made no attempt to contact anyone ...

This cruise was absolutely fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful. The expeditions were super well organised and extremely interesting. The expedition crew were so knowledgeable, informative, funny and inspiring! Best science lessons I have ever experienced! Field trips are so exciting - for any age! The underwater drone was fascinating especially when looking at shipwrecks and the sea ...

Having travelling with Hurtigruten previously and had an excellent experience, we chose them for the Northern Lights trip. The trip was excellent with different excursions and a a superb expedition team making the whole trip informative, inspiring and interesting. During the visit we managed to see the Northern Lights as well as stunning scenery, whales and other wildlife and go on ...

This is a must do. The combination of landscape, safety, very good and healthy nutrition, calmness and a very interesting expedition and board programs is incredible. The excursions were great. Onboard passing a magnificent landscape and being always the number one customer is incredibly good. You see the fabulous coast line of Norway and pass the polar circle and Nordkapp. The menus and buffets on ...

I have always wanted to explore more of Canada, especially the arctic regions. And Labrador has always fascinated me. This exploration of Greenland, Labrador (especially the Torngat Mountains) and Newfoundland was fantastic. Adventure Canada brings together a wonderful assortment of folks to add color to the trip, from storytellers to archeologists to naturalists. The zodiac rides brought us from ...

An incredible experience!

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Maud

We chose Hurtigruten because we'd never go on a " traditional" cruise. Huge ships, thousands of people, casinos, theatres, dancing, loud music, bingo, posh clothes for dinner is just not us. We do like walking, exploring new places, the natural world, photography. I'm also not keen on flying, so when we found that Hurtigruten now has MS Maud based in Dover, running trips around western ...
