Frustrating
"Overall we had a great time, but we did have to be adaptable and just roll with the punches with the port times andMost were well before the cruise, which made it easy to adjust, others, however were while we were on the cruise with very little notification, the night before the port call without a chance to book something else...."Read More

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Eurodam

This was our fourth HAL cruise, and we were very disappointed. Holland America has been wonderful in past years, and we have extolled it's virtues, but this Eurodam cruise seemed understaffed, and the service was lackadaisical at best. We booked a Signature Suite but found that it was just a larger verandah stateroom with absolutely no "suite" amenities. Upon initial boarding, there was no ...

We chose the 20 day repositioning cruise from Vancouver to Ft Lauderdale mainly for an opportunity to relax and be pampered..not as much for the ports of call en route. My husband has mobility issues and we didn’t expect to do many excursions ( I did 3 and he, 2). We welcomed days at sea. We chose a Signature suite because more spacious. The bathroom was lovely and we did like extra room ...

Cruise to Alaska was Wonderful but Holland America...Not So Much

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Eurodam

I have been on 3 cruises before, two to Alaska and one to Hawaii, all on Princess. The first trip was amazing. The next two cruises showed signs of cutting corners to save money, like no fresh cookies at promenade eatery and over half of the lights burned out in the string that goes from bow to aft, little things. So decided to try a Holland America cruise to Alaska on the Eurodam. There were ...

Some pros. Some cons.

We just got back from an 7-day Alaska cruise on the Eurodam. The service was impeccable. The food isn’t gourmet, but it’s quite good for mass produced fare. (Except the steaks at Pinnacle Grill were as tough as hockey pucks. ) We stayed in a verandah room with a balcony. There is plenty of room for storage. But the cabin is showing signs of wear (chipped furniture, moldy shower curtain, rusty ...

Post Covid Dilema

My husband and I chose this Cruise because of family. From the reviews I have read recently. it seems that all the lines are having trouble post Covid. This was our first time on Holland America, and to be fair, the service was excellent even if short handed. The waiters and room staff worked very hard to please everyone. We found the food to be awful. Tasteless, overcooked, and mostly ...

7 day Alaska cruise on Eurodam August 2023

Our 1st time on a cruise. Not real impressed with the physical condition of the ship. It supposedly was remodeled or updated in 2015 but it doesn’t show it! Many places & common areas smell bad~like urine & old sour mop water! The pool towels and third viewing deck blankets smell like mildew ALL OF THEM EVEN AFTER MENTIONING TO GUEST SVS.! I constantly held my nose navigating from one floor ...

An Average Experience with one Major Problem

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Eurodam

I say average for several reasons. The food was good. Not great but good. The ship is long in the tooth. Our suite had numerous features that did not work. Woodwork was delaminating and looked bad. The room attendants were great. The entertainment was ok. Shore excursions were very good to very poor. Management is definitely "you will do it our way". So....net net...average. Worth the ...

Onboard life good, but in-port experience poor.

Overall, post-COVID life on the Eurodam was about 95% of what is was before the pandemic. We sailed a few days later (May 20, as opposed to about May 12) than usual, and although we noticed some cuts, ship life was still good. The cabin crew is outstanding, the ship was clean and attractive, the food was very good (we like the Lido for wider selection), and lectures were also good. This year they ...

Friends invited us to join them on a cruise to Alaska. I've never been on a cruise before and was really nervous about being on the water. It was perfect weather for t shirts and shorts the entire trip. We went to Juneau, Sitka, etc. We saw whales, black bears, sea otters, seals, eagles and lots of seagulls. There were very few vegan or plant based options. Only almond milk as a non dairy ...

We've just returned from a 10-day, Panama Canal Cruise, starting, and ending in FLL. Before I begin expressing some of my dissatisfactions, I want to give high praise, to the ship's employees. They were Excellent!!!! I have been on numerous cruises, with other cruise lines, and found this Holland American Ship, lacking. I have never experienced, an additional fee, for any dish selection, ...
