Ships are having a tough time

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Eurodam

Love crossings. But, hate masks. Also, many cabin issues (toilet overflowed, shower flooded bathroom, water from shower saturated carpet outside door, etc). Were given $200 room credit but on next to last day and had to spend onboard. Crew, as always, was amazing. Of everyone I encountered, only one clerk in the shops could stand a better attitude. EVERYONE else was helpful. Lido personnel ...

Trans-Atlantic Crossing 2021

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Eurodam

The passengers on this cruise seemed to fall into two broad categories: people who were using credits from cruises cancelled during Covid and people who just aren't willing to fly. I fell into the first category. I enjoy just being on the ocean, sailing somewhere, anywhere. What's there not to like? The people in the second category did not expand on the reasons why they spent 2 weeks making a ...

Last HAL ship of 2021 Europe COVID season heads to FLL with little entertainment

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Eurodam

WE chose Holland America's Westerdam OCTOBER 18, 2021 repositioning from Venice to FLL to return to cruising at what we thought was the end of the COVID pandemic., October 2021. WRONG! The 2021 cruising season morphed into a strange version of the book "Ship of Fools" . Four different HAL ships ( Westerdam cancelled) had their itineraries and cruises cancelled and consolidated onto the ...

Worse cruise ever!

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Eurodam

Old ship, not remodeled. Staff on the ship work very hard, could not overcome poor management and worse leadership. 1- no smoking ship but when we complained about the cabin next door smoking all time. They were to busy to do anything. Several trips to the front desk. 2- very poor communication from the top. 3 - should have left and returned from Venice but instead we got a very ...

Covid Changes

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Eurodam

The expected changes due to the pandemic were the requirement to wear a mask any time or place outside your stateroom. There were temperature checks available and PCR testing was done at least twice during the cruise. The important test was just before getting off of the ship so as to be able to meet USG rules for getting back into the country. The staff was relaxed about using a mask in the ...

Amazing Cruise Even with Covid Restrictions

I booked this cruise in June and thought things would be better by August. As we all knew Delta variant came around and I was unsure about going but so glad that we did. The crew could not be happier or more attentive. The embarkation was not as hectic as I thought although they could have had fans in this huge tent we waited in. We got there at about 2pm, was given a group number to wait which ...

The Cruise from Hell (HAL)

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Eurodam

We booked three back to back cruises which totaled 29 days. We found the food inedible on the Eurodam. The food was so bad, I could not eat it. I lost 14 pounds on the cruise, which is probably the only good thing that happened. Meats, and fish did not taste fresh, and they were always overcooked. Vegetables were often sparingly served, and the sauces, and combinations that the kitchen came ...

More than I was expecting

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Eurodam

Was looking for a crossing where we could play bridge, and see some Spanish ports. The Eurodam was very nice. We had stopped going on HAL for several years because of mediocre food and numbers passengers with walkers. We found the food to be excellent, except for the alternate restaurants. The Asian one was very good, but the ultra gourmet restaurant, De Librije, was a joke! Presentation was ...

Happy Memories

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Eurodam

User Avatar

Last days of October, first days of November provided exceptionally good weather in the Western Mediterranean area. That of course helped in having a wonderful experience. Even in the evening the outside temperature was balmy with an oily, slick sea. I booked a cruise inclusive flight and transfer with HAL and both the embarkation and disembarkation process were impeccable and speedy. The ...

Fabulous Spain Itinerary

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Eurodam

User Avatar

We selected this cruise based on the itinerary and loved it! The ports of call were cities we knew very little about, which made it even more fun. We only did the Spain leg starting in Barcelona. With only one day at sea, it's perfect for those who have attention deficit disorder, lol. The crowd is a little older - average age maybe mid 70s? We are from New Orleans and believe we have some of the ...
