Get this cabin. It is outstanding. So much room (we brought four full bags and STILL had 3 closets we didn't use!). Having two showers and two sinks was an absolute luxury, and it is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in (Huge King Size Bed!).
The biggest benefit (besides the large veranda), is the access to the Neptune Lounge right across the hall. In just 4 steps you'll find yourself in the lounge, which is constantly being stocked with treats all day long. (Smoked Salmon, Cheese Plates, Imported Meats, Macaroons, etc).
It also has complimentary Juices (Cranberry, Water, Orange), a complete Hot Tea selection, and a very expensive Coffee Machine that grinds and creates Coffee Drinks (Latte, Espresso, Cappuccino, etc). They also offer an Honor Bar at 4 PM that allow you to Mix and Make your own cocktails (you are charged, but those drinks are really powerful!)
The lounge is very expansive, and will serve as your living room when not relaxing in your surprisingly large cabin, and having a concierge right across the hall is just awesome. Roms and Michael (our two concierges) were amazing and really made our cruise special.
The cabin also comes with binoculars, umbrella, bathrobes, and 24 in room dining from the Dining Room. The television is huge, and it even has a pull out couch. Plus, complimentary laundry service which is an absolute must on an Alaskan cruise as you are changing outfits every 8 hours or so (Fitness Clothes, Excursion Clothes, Gala Nights, etc).
Honestly, just a great cabin and well worth the upgrade price since you will be spending time in it! Read entire member review >>
This cabin has the new upgrades and we liked the layout better that other HAL Neptune Suites we have stayed in. Bed was comfortable, TV is now about a 48" on the wall opposite the bed with lots of free movies available most are less than 5 yo. Lots of closet space and added plugs and USB ports for all our electronic stuff. Internet on the ship is dial up slow, but it works for mail, facebook and texting. Bathroom got a major makeover but they forgot to give us back all the wall hanger space for our stuff. Neptune Lounge was great for snacks and coffee and the two Ladies that ran it made everything right. Kudos to Mary Ann and Kim. Also a big pat on the back to our room staff of Komang and Asep we kept everything straight for our trip. Read entire member review >>
The most comfortable suite cabin I've ever seen aboard a cruise ship. The refurbishment has brought the suites at this level into the modern era with subtle muted colors and very comfortable furniture. There were no Plastic cushions on the couch - all replaced with upscale fabric - the older HAL ships still have plastic furniture cushions - not what you expect when you book a cabin at this level. Cabin was a fantastic size for both of us. Well fitted out with our own coffee machine. Fresh fruit and ice daily. Room was spotlessly cleaned twice a day, nothing was too much trouble for the room attendants or the concierges'. Daily laundry and just Excellent service with happy helpful staff. The cabin was FANTASTIC to say the least as the suites were just updated last winter. The bathroom with it's new built-in night light was a welcome addition. The updated entertainment system included a 55" interactive flat panel tv as well as a Bose sound dock that you could use in the cabin or on the veranda. The beds on HAL are some of if not the most comfortable of any cruise line I have sailed. The access to the Neptune Lounge was a fantastic perk and the concierges were fantastic to say the least! It was also very nice to have laundry and dry cleaning included as I didn't have to pack as much and was able to bring most things home clean. Read entire member review >>
Loved having double sinks and a shower and separate tub. Makes getting ready in the morning quicker. The room was a great size as well as the balcony. We had a table with 4 chairs and two other chairs with ottomans. Plenty of room! Loved having the espresso maker in the cabin. Used it every day. We were a short walk to the Neptune Lounge and not far from the elevators. Our cabin attendants were excellent! Read entire member review >>
The cabin had recently been refurbished and I suspect actually completely gutted. It was quite nice and spacious with plenty of storage. The bed was awful and the sheet quality poor. Cleanliness upon embarkation was an issue. In San Juan we bought Lysol to disinfect the suite. Cabin service was poor to fair at best by our room stewards. Lack of command of English led to many simple requests (i.e. more soap) being ignored and replied to with a blank zombie type stare. Read entire member review >>
The cabin was absolutely beautiful. I believe that it was refurbished in recent dry dock as it looked in pristine condition. The bathroom had a jet tub as well as a separate shower. There was a dressing room with extra closet space! Great seating area and huge 42 inch TV. Fabulous! Read entire member review >>
On this cruise we had a Neptune Suite on deck 7 and it couldn’t have been more perfect. If anything, it was a bit large for just the two of us. There were 6 closets and many drawers to put our things in. We had a king-size bed, a sofa, 2 chairs and a table. In the bathroom we had double sinks, a tub/shower and a separate. Our verandah had a table and chairs and 2 chairs with footstools – and lots of room! We enjoyed sitting out there, especially when coming in to Stockholm and leaving Stockholm. The carpet was a bit worn, but not too bad. The biggest problem was cigarette smoke coming from other verandahs when we would have to leave (and yes, HAL still allows smoking on verandahs) Read entire member review >>
Loved it. Lots of storage space. Bathroom larger than some. Clean with excellent steward service. Balcony was larger than others we have had and furniture comfortable. We were fairly mid ship but higher so felt the roll during a wind. Doesn't bother us but look for cabin on a lower deck midship if this might be a problem for you. Read entire member review >>
The cabin was three down from the elevator mid-ship. It was across mid-ship from the Neptune lounge and was very quiet with little traffic. The cabin was in good working order and was very spacious. Gumy provided excellent service and we never wanted for anything. We did not need the umbrella. The binoculars were nice to use to check out the other ships at our ports or tender locations. The cabin had incredible storage space with double sets of closets, drawers under the bed and storage in the ottomans in the cabin. There was a good safe. The robes and slippers were nice. The large bathroom with tub/shower and shower was extremely useful. The water jets in the tub were relaxing as were the provided bath salts. The flowers were kept fresh as was the fruit during the entire cruise. We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin, its location and the service from Gumy and his assistant. The flat screen TV was enjoyable and had movies and many channels that provided useful cruise information. The balcony was great with a table and four chairs as well as two chairs with ottomans and a little table. We took the tea light candles outside and a few very relaxing late evenings enjoying the ocean sky views. The dividers between the balconies provided excellent wind breaks and the balcony was most enjoyable and was never too windy. Suite 7050 is directly across from the Neptune Lounge (a suite guests' retreat with its own concierge services, snacks, TV, & sofas, etc. Within our cabin we added a fold-out bed so our adult son and daughter did not have to share the sofa fold out. It made the room a bit tight, but it was a very good-sized cabin, so you could shimmy past the beds & sofas and go do what you chose. The veranda was large, with a table for 4, and 2 chairs with ottomans. The curtained dressing area beside the bathroom allowed an extra spot for changing clothes. There was more than enough closet and drawer space. 8 suitcases were placed easily inside each other (making 4) and stored under the bed. The guys bought an internet package for $250 for 1100 minutes and set up a " central macstation" at the desk beside sofa nearest the door. Internet is wireless on the Eurodam and charges for time could easily be minimized by typing e-mails and such in advance and then copying & pasting them into text windows while back on line. 7033 is a Deluxe Verandah Suite and is FABULOUS! Large cabin, with a wall clock (last ship I was on did not have clocks in the rooms at all)! Loved the location 1/2 way between forward and midships elevators and very close to the Neptune Lounge. There is tons and tons of closet space and drawers galore. Loved the binoculars supplied in the cabin - great for getting close up views of the fjords. They also supply a full sized umbrella. This is the way all cruising should be! We were thoroughly pleased with our suite. Spacious stateroom and balcony with comfortable furniture. Bedding was superb. Very ample closet and cabinet space, and we always bring more than we need. The things that really matter to us--A/C, plumbing and water pressure--all worked perfectly. The location was great--very convenient to the elevators and Neptune Lounge. Since there were no public areas above or below us, the only noise we heard was an occasional slammed door. Our stewards did a great job and the ladies in the Neptune Lounge were very cordial and accommodating. Read entire member review >>
Excellent! We loved the location and the wicker furniture on the balcony was very comfortable. Lots of storage, several plugs for electrical devices.
The bed was at a great height and was a King, very comfortable. The Air Conditioning was great, we like it cold when we sleep and it was 68 on my temperature gauge that is also our alarm clock. Read entire member review >>
Large closets, large bed, large veranda, large bathroom-for a ship
Very comfortable room and the most comfortable bed ever with lots of pillows with varying degrees of hardness and softness. Plus is it is across from the Neptune Lounge. When we were in the suite we did not hear outside noises. Read entire member review >>
Nice cabin, well laid out, roomy with plenty of closet space. There is a cd player with free discs available in the library. Comes with an umbrella and binoculars. We were directly across from the entrance to the Neptune Lounge so there was some noise but not excessive. It was convenient to pop in for a cup of coffee. Read entire member review >>
Suite 7053, Deluxe Verandah Suite, Eurodam, Holland America
The size is great, especially for two people, the closet space is more than adequate, the bathroom is adequate (although we didn't feel our bathroom was clean), the verandah is roomy with a table and four chairs, and two additional chairs and ottomans.
The suite needs to be cleaned and better maintained and the bedding cleaned. Read entire member review >>
Midship location. Since it is almost directly across from Neptune Lounge, it is extremely convenient. We never heard any noise from either above or below. And since it was midship, it minimized some of the rocking motion on the North Atlantic. The room was spotlessly clean, and the cabin stewards were always attentive. Read entire member review >>
Our cabin was an SA category suite. It was quite spacious for the three of us. We had it made up with two twins and the couch for the third bed. There was a dressing room and what I would consider a huge bathroom with a separate shower and then a tub with a shower. There were five large closets so storing clothig was a breeze. The veranda was wonderful. We heard very little noise the entire cruise and smelled no one smoking. It was wonderful to also have the Neptune lounge for snacks and someone there to assist us on various things. Read entire member review >>
7051, Deluxe Veranda Suite SA category. Perfect location just outside the rear door of the Neptune. No noise, far enough from pantry room. Mid ship, one half hall from elevator. Absolutely wonderful location. Read entire member review >>
Our suite was directly across from the Neptune Lounge entrance. It is not too loud and we love the convenience of popping in for a snack or to speak to one of the concierges. Read entire member review >>
Room smallish but perfectly adequate. Tastefully decorated with a leather loveseat, a comfortable chair, and a vanity with a stool. Balcony great. Love their bathtubs which also give you a roomier shower. Quiet, bedding awesome. Read entire member review >>
Our deluxe veranda stateroom was great, comfortable, and well maintained by our stewards. We have stayed in the deluxe verandas before on HAL and have always had great accommodations and support from the staff. Other than the noisy ceiling on the first night, the room was quiet and convenient to everything we were interested in. The concierge (sp?) staff was outstanding. These SA staterooms are well worth the extra cost. Also, the use of the Neptune Lounge really makes the cruise a special treat. Read entire member review >>
We were in a Deluxe Veranda Suite (category SA -- suite 7052). It was a very comfortable stay. The bathroom has both a tub (with whirlpool jets) and a separate standing shower. It offers a huge amount of closet and drawer space. They provide a large selection of pillows (we had to implore our steward to take some of them away). Our only complaint is that the veranda had only tables, chairs, and ottomans. We would have like reclining lounges instead of the chairs (which did not recline). Otherwise, this was a great suite. We were directly across from the Neptune Lounge, which made it easy for us to pop in for snacks, cups of tea, help from Mel, the Concierge, etc. Read entire member review >>
This time around, we heard no sound from the cabins on either side of us. There was also very little in the way of creeking or those strange sounds that you have trouble identifying.... Read entire member review >>
7067 - Deluxe Verandah Suite: Huge room and private balcony, big screen TV, private lounge for same suite level guests, included room service 24/7 (limited menu), lots of closet space, sound proof rooms, jacuzzi tub/shower surround & 2nd separate shower, double sinks, separate vanity area, comfortable couch and chairs in seating area, and no interior cabins across the hall, only exterior cabins at this level. SA Deluxe Suite; plenty of storage; the smallest balcony of any other ship in the HAL fleet (and, the Eurodam is their largest ship, now); great location with a few steps to the access of the Neptune lounge; wonderful cabin steward (La Ode). Read entire member review >>
Nice SA Deluxe Suite, but a very small balcony. Plenty of storage. Great bathroom. No sink in this dressing area like other ships have. Wonderful and pleasant cabin steward . . . his name was La Ode. Read entire member review >>
Nice not being below the Lido; some noise in 7043 from the Pinnacle staff going into the Neptune. Pretty convenient location. Great space in the cabin. Could use some more drawer space, but the closets are great, and storage for bags under the beds. Two sinks in the bathroom is very nice, as well as a shower and tub (have to figure out how to get the shower in the tub--need some instructions!!) Read entire member review >>
