It is my 3th cruise... and Costa Deliziosa is the worst ever. We sail from Venice to Grecia and Montenegro... The logistic was terrible. They should choose more waisley the times in the ports. The time they give us was in each port SUCKS. Everthing on board costs a lot of money it's OVERRATED....the entertaiment in specific the shows was like seeing beginners in a performace, ZERO professionalism. We are from Monterrey, Mexico and our experices have been with Carnival, Royal, pullmatour... Costa is nothing compared with them. It 's very obvious that they exploit their staff because you can see them everywhere, everytime. Additionally they perform lots of maintenance during after hours, they shut off the water supply 3 days in a row... and in the bathroom there were no soap bar, extra tissues and you had to keep asking for these things. The channels in the tv also are very poor... Read Less

We saw an ad and decided to call and do it! This cruise happened to fall on our 50th Anniversary and we wanted to give our self a gift. We booked. I do believe, being our first time to use Viking, we spent much more than we maybe should have and did not do everything we could have. After you go once, though, it is easier to understand the ins and outs in order to save money on the next one. Once in baggage, we were greeted by the Viking Staff and everything was handled from that moment on. We did a pre-cruise stay in Florence so we were taken straight to the Villa. We had a host guide and she was awesome. Our daily trips out and were seamless each day thanks to Roberta. We were taken by motorcoach to the port close to Rome and boarded our ship with absolute ease. We were allowed to go to our cabin almost immediately. It was neat, clean, streamlined. Our balcony was great. The refrigerator was fill of drinks, water, spirits. Since we had bought the drink package, it was refurbished as soon as we used something. Our cabin host was Hery and he was always asking if we needed anything. Our room was kept spotless. Dining was great. The buffets we appealing, clean and filled with great entrees, sides, deserts. They were really good. However, our favorite was Manfredi's. The steaks were cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. The sides were great and desert awesome. The wait staff was so good to us. We enjoy putting together puzzles and liked doing that. We enjoyed the entertainment provided by the Viking Star crew and our Cruise Director, Jenny, was an integral part of the entertainment., We loved Mark who played the guitar in the lounge every night. He was willing to play whatever anyone asked for and was amazing. Our service at each and every place on the ship was absolutely stellar!! Our ports were great and our excursions extremely insightful. The only drawback about the excursions is that so much time was spent educating us on what we saw and the places we visited that there was very little other time to stroll on our own and shop. We would absolutely take time out to venture on our own next time. We met the most AMAZING people on our trip and made great friends. We all decided we will get together to plan our next cruise! So, obviously, we would go again. We did have a mishap or two which we know that the cruise line will take care of . Things sometimes don't go as planned but our review is of the overall cruise and that we will travel again with Viking! Read Less

I chose this cruise because I was excited that we would be at port most days and I really wanted to visit Santorini, Greece. Unfortunately, we were notified the day before we set sail that the itinerary had been changed and we would not be going to Santorini after all. They offered us $100 compensation per state room. They had also removed a stop to Montenegro and had shortened 5 of our other stops. I was informed by management that we had lost an engine and were running at half speed which is what caused the changed in the itinerary. Suddenly, we were spending significant time on the ship rather than exploring the Mediterranean. I tried to make the best of it. The staff were all very friendly and helpful which did help ease my disappointment. We upgraded to include 5 nights of specialty dining. This was good as the food in the main dining rooms was fine, at times good, but at times the food was not hot and often very salty. Each day we were at sea I looked for entertainment on the ship. This left something to be desired for a middle aged person such as myself. I wasn't interested in Bingo or the art auctions. The classes offered almost always felt like they were trying to sell you something on the ship. The live music was all mostly classic rock and easy listening. There's only so much drinking I really care to do and it was too cold for the pool. This left me fairly bored most days. They had some decent shows at night and I checked out the night club and karaoke once or twice. I'm not sorry I went as I made some good friends along the way and got to see some great places. However, I will not be cruising with Norwegian again which sends people out on a busted ship and then does not compensate properly for changes they make. Read Less

We were not impressed with this old tired ship. Furniture is not only dated but worn out. It has plumbing issues so bad that with three hours notice we were told that drilling and plumbing repairs would be happening from 11pm-5am!! Sorry for any inconvenience! That’s about the attitude of the Ship throughout the trip. We had to be diverted from Venice because of flooding which was not Norwegians fault however where did they take us....to the nearest dump of a port no one had ever heard of...Ravenna Italy. There is absolutely nothing in Taveena so the ship arranged two shuttle buses to take approx 1200 passengers into town!!! We waited in the cold night over two hours trying to get on one of these shuttle buses then gave up. Food quality was so bad we finally took to eating at the buffet. That should tell you how great the restaurant’s are...the menu was almost the same junk every night with just a different way of preparing same. On five occasions we had to send the meal back to the kitchen as it came out almost cold. Out of thirteen shows only four could be considered entertaining the rest were fill ins with mediocre performances. Example was a chap from Germany who was basically a one man band. Hopeless. Cabins are very small and poor furniture in them. Our friends didn’t even have a chair for the little desk in the room. Shower had mold in the tiles. It was just awful. The only saving grace was our cabin steward who did his best to help us. Would we ever travel Norwegian again...not likely especially when they also make you pay for everything!! Water included. Drinks are the highest in the industry plus they add on a mandatory 20% gratuity charge. Average drink is around 13$ US!! And up. Read Less

We sailed on the third cruise of Sky Princess, 7 days in the Med. This was our 19th Princess Cruise so we do have a basis of comparison. I echo the sentiment of a previous reviewer about the inadequate elevators. The forward bank of elevators, outside of the Princess Theater, had only three of the four elevators in operation for the entire cruise. This is one of the busiest locations on the ship. The operating elevators through out the ship were extremely slow. Or was it too few elevators for the number of passengers? The earlier reviewer didn't mention the Nora virus. The second cruise was plagued by the Nora virus, passengers and crew members. Between the second cruise and third cruise boarding there was additional sanitation of the ship, which delayed boarding, room availability and embarkation. During our cruise the Captain reported several times a day about the enhanced sanitation required. Between 9 - 14 passengers "reported" being ill during our 7 day cruise. As a result, enhanced sanitary procedures took place everywhere. This was most notable at the buffet where everything was served. Passengers were not allowed to touch serving utensils, dishes, glasses, etc. This was an additional burden on the crew as well as passengers. This was our first experience with the "Medallion" and it worked most of the time. Several crew members complained about them. There was a learning curve to their usage. Food was very good and there were a number of new, for fee, dining locations. Sabatini's menu had changed, no steak and several other item changes.. Ship shops were definitely up scaled, more expensive and we had just been on the Sapphire Princess the week prior. We watched rehearsal for a new "production" show but the Sky Princess offered only one "production" show for the trip...Rock Opera. The show received a standing ovation but others complained later about how loud it was. Read Less

We were a party of four and we left Barcelona on the 25th Oct & just got back home on the 1st of November. It was our first Cruise and it was fabulous. Our only hiccup was that unfortunately my cabin mate had a bereavement in her family and had to disembark on Monday. There was NO specific person to deal with us in this situation, to help with disembarking, find flights home etc. we had to deal with staff at reception and they were not very helpful and not sympathetic. We had to buy a 24 hr WiFi package @ €39.90 so that we could look for flights home. Reception did print out the flight tickets on the morning my cabin mate left the ship. The rest of the party could not get flights home & we had no choice but to stay on the ship for the rest of the cruise. We had an excursion booked for four on the Monday my cabin mate left, we cancelled the excursion for two of us but we were still charged 50% of the cost. I was really annoyed about this because we had a genuine excuse to cancel. We decided that two from the party would continue to take the excursion as they could not cancel without being charged. We would have all gone to the airport with our friend otherwise. These would be the only negative comments we would have about the cruise. On our last night we went to reception and met Nirmatee Baungally a guest service agent and she was fabulous and so helpful. Keep an eye out for her! The staff on board were just fabulous. Wellington, Thalita and Tamires Cristina in the Bellissima Bar were just wonderful, so attentive, friendly and so much craic. If you meet them please let them know that the 4 Irish Ladies sang their praises. Arta the waiter in our restaurant who took care of us for 7 nights straight was a pure pleasure to deal with, he made our dinner experience every night very special. We also met Tatiana Franco a Program Publisher who gave us loads of information and was very generous with her time. All the staff were extremely friendly in the bars restaurants, shops and housekeeping. The food was very good, we had a drinks package that catered very well for our needs. The party atmosphere every night in the Bellissima lounge was second to none and we felt were we were definitely on holidays. All in all if you are willing to be friendly and have a good time the MSC Bellissima will not disappoint. We will definitely be booking again. (I told all those staff members that I have mentioned that I would be giving them a good review and I took their names down as we were so impressed with them) Read Less

After spending four very busy days in Rome, we embarked on the NCL Jade for a two week cruise of the area. Embarkation was the smoothest I've ever seen in my cruising history. Maybe it was because I'm use to going on the larger ships, but we waited in line maybe 2 minutes before getting our stateroom cards and other information. We were in cabin 10624, which had a strange smell coming from the bathroom, but it was only noticeable for a couple of minute every time we walked in. Other than that the bed was very comfortable and the cabin was a little larger than on the newer ships(especially the bathroom). There was a dripping noise that we heard off and on while in the cabin. I think it came from a large pipe outside on our balcony, but not sure. For dining we had only one dinner in a specialty restaurant, that was Teppanyaki, which was delicious as usual. We ate a few times at O'Sheehan's, which we've always liked on previous NCL cruises. This time it didn't seem quite as good, Hamburgers and Fish very very greasy compared to other experiences we've had. Everything else was very good though especially the chicken wings.. We ate in the main dining rooms twice, service was great and food was good. Other meals while on board were in the Garden Cafe. I can always find something in there to eat. The quality of the food in there for dinner was so-so. This cruise was about the ports so the entertainment didn't measure up to what we've seen on other large ships, No Jersey Boys or Million Dollar Quartet but it was ok. Our cabin steward Dexter was one of the most attentive and caring that we've ever had. It was his first contract so maybe that explains it. But he was great. I filled out a Cruise Hero card for him. I had no complaints about any other service by ships crew. The 13 ports we visited in 14 days was why we booked this cruise. It was both exciting and exhausting at the same time. Sailing between Italy and The Greek Isles, back to Croatia and Montenegro, there was so much to see. My wife wrote down a journal every night about what we did that day so we could keep things straight. The Jade over- nighted in Venice, which gave us two chances to get out and see the city. A lot of the ports we visited would be worthy of going back to. It's very hard to really see Florence for example in six hours especially when it takes well over and hour to get there. We felt the same about some of the other ports too. We had an 11:30 flight the morning of disembarkation, which is a little tight, so we talked to Mario at Customer Service. He told us about a small group getting off the ship at 6:10 and we could join them if we carried our own bags and were there at 6:10. That was wonderful . We had a driver pick us up at the terminal in Civitavecchia at 6:45 and we made it to the airport in plenty of time. Overall for us a trip we will always remember. Read Less

First of all like to say the cruise living is fantastic and as usual was very well looked after by wonderful staff. Cons- Beautiful new ship with plenty of room to wonder around without feeling crowded. Alway found seat in Buffet area with new layout, plenty of couples seat and tables for larger groups. Food in fine dining restaurants was always good although usually lukewarm Entertainment was probably best I have experienced on princess cruises. Cruise Director was always upbeat and keep everyone well informed with upcoming events. Pro's - Seem very Low key for Inaugural cruise and would have expected a bit more fanfare with such a event- Lifts were the worst i have experienced although I manly walked the stairs. The worst complaint for me was the lux attitude to washing hands in dining areas with wash basins on side, most people avoided washing hands which I think will course problem in the future. Wine prices in fine dining was way over the top-14/15 $us for a glass with a very small serve. Overall enjoyed cruise and ports and will continue to support Princess. Read Less

Room steward Jun was amazing. We received excellent service in all venues. The NCL shore excursions were exactly as described and we'll done. The service desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, this was our best NCL cruise ever, number 11. Our embarkation was non eventful and we walked right on, our disembarkation was the same. We recommend coming to Venice a few days early to explore the city and take care of any jet lag as there is little down time during the cruise. We feel we got value for our travel dollar. We strongly recommend this itinerary, we are thinking it will change a little next year as the Venice cruise restrictions required the skipping of Motor, but we never missed it because of the superior ship and crew. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, all the food/dining area was great, the shows were out of this world, and I just had the most amazing time. There was always something to do on the cruise as well. My friends and I, not once were bored at the cruise ship. We had a great time going to the salsa classes, partner shows, 5’clock somewhere bar was the enjoyable karaoke nights, or just chill and enjoy the view by the pool deck. Oh and let me mention, the music was always on point, from playing known classical, to some reggae to dance to. I literally had the time of my life. I don’t think I’ll ever go on a different cruise, Norwegian is the one to pick. Trust me on it!!!!! Read Less

Let's start with the great.... the entertainment was off the charts, much superior to any other cruise we have taken, all STELLAR! Embarkation and debarkation were organized and a breeze. The food and service was best in the specialty restaurant Sabatinnis. If you love Italian food, don't miss it. There were plenty of choices in the Speciality restaurants and although we did not try them all, we heard from other guests that they were all excellent. Elevators did not accommodate the massive numbers of guest and wait time was long. Be careful with shore excursions which are not created equal. Also, when you pick an excursion that includes your meal, you give up your ability to pick a great restaurant and are forced to a prix fix that was menza mens. That should not happen when you have one day in Italy.... a slice of chicken breast would not have been my pick. All in all, it was probably the best week of my life, perfect weather and magnificent Ports helped. The most difficult part was leaving. Read Less

We sailed NCL once before and loved the itinerary. We like the itinerary scheduled for this cruise but found it disappointing on several stops. 1st, the stop to Kotor was canceled but the excuse given was that the departure from Venice was delayed 2hrs. I take issue with the cancelation since we made a two hour stop at a port just beyond Kotor and arrived there about 6 hours before we were expected to arrive in Kotor. Clearly, NCL avoided the port fees in Kotor but made no effort to mitigate the loss to the passengers. 2nd, the stop in Santorini was a bust. We arrived along with 5 other cruise ships and it took hours to get to the cable car. We and several dozen other passengers punted and went back to the ship to the bar. 3rd, the stops in Corfu and Mikonos barely gave you enough time to grab a meal and head back to the ship. We knew this before hand and chose not to take an excursion because of the rush. The Norwegian Star was clean and well maintained. We loved our room, the service, and the amenities. The food was good, best in the upcharge restaurants but neither warrant further mention. We were very pleased with the cruise director and his staff but.....there was really very little to do on board. We would cruise again with NCL but only if the itinerary were very special. Read Less

The ship itself was outstanding, with great amenities. The Gym/ Spa area was outstanding, especially the "Thermal Spa" area. The restaurants were all outstanding and catered to different needs and tastes. An unexpected surprise was the planetarium theatre where we saw a couple of shows about the universe and the aurora. The "common" areas provided space for quiet relaxation and opportunities for your choice of musical interludes. The entertainment selection was excellent, with many different types of music... classical (piano and strings), acoustic guitar, musical themed concerts, rock band. The individual cabins were just right in terms of space and amenities... and the heated floor in the bathroom was a nice touch. Being a smaller ocean cruise ship, all cabins had outside windows and balconies, which made the travelling more interesting. The Viking staff were all excellent! From the Captain to the cabin stewards, everyone had a smile on their face, catered to your every need and made you feel welcome. Awesome photo opportunities! We chose Viking after talking with friends who have done Mediterranean cruises and recommended a smaller ship experience, as well as doing some research on the best cruise line rankings. We were not disappointed!! The ship is amazing and comfortable. It is so easy to relax, or find things to do. What really makes the Viking experience stand out is the incredible staff! Everyone, and do mean everyone, is very friendly and helpful. Many of the waiters and bartenders knew our names after the first day and we had some amazing conversations with them about their home cities, working on the ship, ports of call, and our families. Amazing people! And the food was 5-Star! The chefs are incredible! This was our first time to Europe so we wanted to experience as much as we could in as many places as possible. That was why we chose to go on a ship, and chose this particular cruise with 10 ports of call. It was the trip of a lifetime! We did several of the included tours which gave a very good introduction to the cities, and then went off on our own exploration. Viking makes it very easy to get to and from the ship so you can explore as much as you like. We also upgraded our excursions in several ports and they were well worth it! Rome, Pompei, and Venice were some of the ones I would recommend looking into. The guides were all local and very good. The other great thing was that Viking had onboard historians that gave talks before each port of call. They were very entertaining and informative. It was also great to get the daily newsletter in our room with information on the next days activities on board and ashore, specific on excursions and times, and any specific details that we needed to be aware of in the next port. The overall experience exceeded my expectations on nearly every level! We are already looking into our next Viking cruise and have recommended them to all of our friends. It truly was the trip of a lifetime! Read Less

We applaud the hand sanitizers and sinks, soap, and towels outside all restaurants. The food and service were excellent in all the restaurants. We went on the galley tour and marvel at the efficiency and cleanliness of the kitchens. We also went on the bridge tour and were amazed to see how the ship is sailed. This cruise was chosen for the itenery. The staff were all excellent. The entertainment was 5 stars. We were not impressed with dinner choices in main dining room. The picture is of Santorini, the most scenic of all the ports. Taken from Jade. The embarkation and debarkation went smoothly. We took the fast train from the port of Civitavecchia to Rome. Spent three days exploring Rome and sights after the cruise. The collision was crowded and every place we went was filled with tourists. We got the three day pass to ride metro and buses. Also the fast pass the enter the Vatican and systine Chapel. Everywhere we went it was a hugs amount of walking. All the Italians were friendly and helpful, when we ask for directions in English. Some spoke English and others didn't. We speak Spanish also and found they understand Spanish as many words are similar. Personally we found Rome to be quite hectic and lots of traffic. Everyone was in a hurry. Seems like they are stressed out, too much! The metro (subway) at times was packed and I felt clostrofoblc. None of the younger people get up and let older ones sit down. I am glad we went to Rome, however may not go back. I think going to Tuscany and staying there for a while would be nice. Read Less

We have been looking for a long time and we thought we got a great value for our money ! It took a long time before I felt comfortable enough to be on a big ship for a long time. All of that worry went out the window when we first boarded the ship...If all the cruises on Norwegian are like this you might just have a customer for life...The entertainment was wonderful and balanced with something for everybody... It would be prudent in this day and age to make certain sexual and gender innuendos that might insult some of your passengers.... not being preachy just a word of caution...Otherwise I will look forward to returning again! The food choices were more than adequate and the service staff was excellent..We only wish that on some of the ports there was more time to to be able and enjoy the surroundings more like an overnight stay__say like a day and a half rather than just a few hours...But the experience was not diminished....WELL DONE! We booked Costa Pacifica for 10 night Mediterranean cruise for our wedding anniversary. It was our first cruise and i would say that it met and sometimes exceeded our expectations. Value for money was great and with few exceptions everything was awesome. Cleanliness overall was top. Reaching places on the ship was easy after we discovered the interactive screens. Sadly, always some of the elevators were out of service. With the exception of our dinner waiter who was later then other waiters, the staff was very helpful and friendly. Food quality and variety for us was exceptional. Many serving buffets and hours. We loved sea fruits, bakery, grills, pastas and desserts. We dinned in My Way restaurant. The menu was different each night, with 3-5 options for each meal, italian cuisine at it's best. Daily and evening events, some free, some paid. We were clearly explained that this is an italian ship and although we enjoyed the italian atmosphere, we felt that some events were for italian guests mainly. English is the second language here. Theatre shows were ok with some good singers, decent dancers and great acrobats. Some comedy also. Internet packets are expensive like all cruises, but there are some social packets and even one option to pay for minute. Excursions were worth it, some a little expensive but it was the best option. We booked northern part of the Lanzarote, Puerto de la Cruz in Tenerife, and the 9h all around Funchal (fabulous experience). We chose to visit Marseille and Malaga on our own and it was a good plan. We absolutely loved the condition of the ship, the design and decorations. Everything reflects a musical theme. Recommend it. Read Less

Overall, we had a very pleasant experience on our cruise and would recommend Norwegian to others. There were a few service concerns that could have been improved, but people were willing to help if we sought someone out. The specialty dining meals were excellent, as was the buffet. Service in the general dining rooms could have been improved. The entertainment was fantastic, and I always felt like there was something to do. Our room was fine for what we needed, but we did struggle to receive some communication that other friends in our group received in their rooms. I didn’t know if this was because they had upgraded to a higher paying room or not. The discounted laundry service was very nice, but I had to go to guest services on my own to get information because it was not left in my room. I also had to call and track down my laundry because it was not returned. We definitely enjoyed ourselves and would like to travel with Norwegian again, but I would just hope that some of the service pieces could be improved. Read Less

1. the food was bland and the selection subpar. 2. There were 5 ports that required tendering. This is a mistake, and a bad choice by this cruise line to have so many tender ports for one itinerary. Each day, there were a couple hundred people waiting on line for tender tickets!! The first port was Kotor. Got to port at 2 pm, they started issuing tender tickets at 9am that morning. Got there at 8:30 thinking we were doing well. We received group 5, so we had to wait until our number was called to leave the ship. There were not enough tender boats supplied by the Kotor government, so we used the ship's life boats to tender in. There were so many people waiting to get off, that by the time it was our turn, it was almost time to get back on the ship! . On the second port tender, we got smart, and waited in line earlier than the call time.( 6am) Well everyone else did too. Received our ticket, which was group #2. Group 2 was not called for over an hour because of the amount of people waiting to get off. The 3rd port tender we waited in line, this time starting at 5am! (5 am??!! This is crazy). This time, we received #1. Good, Right? Wrong. We docked early, and they were already calling #3 even before we got back to our room!! This meant we docked at around 6:30 am, however none of the shops or points of interest were even open yet, (not until 9am) so we lost over 2 hours just walking around the town aimlessly. 3. Our room was 9060 port side balcony. Mind you we paid close to $4,000 for this stateroom on the 9th floor. We choose it because it was far away from the dining rooms, etc. Each night, there were different machine/equipment/grinding noises coming from behind the closet in our stateroom. Another night the HVAC was on the fritz. They could not change our room because the cruise was booked to the max. They attempted to fix the noises, but could not. I find it hard to believe that no one else who has stayed in this room before us, never complained about this room before we started this cruise. This leads me to believe they knew about it and chose not to disclose it due to the full capacity. We purchased ear plugs so we could sleep. HORRIBLE. 3. On a positive note, the staff who were assigned to our rooms was awesome and helped us feel as comfortable as possible and were genuinely wanting to help in any way possible. We will not be cruising with Norwegian again, nor will our friends. Read Less

This was the infamous cruise which left 1200 passengers (including me and my wife) stranded in Monte Carlo. We even made the papers. Don't believe the stories about the weather getting worse and the passenger couldn't be tendered back to the ship. The weather was just a light breeze and the transfer of passengers should have been perfectly OK. The problem was that their was an excess of large boats in the area due to the annual boat show. They caused the wake which made conditions in return back to the ship difficult for the able bodied and impossible for most of the elderly passengers. Communications were poor. After up to a 7 hour wait, the local police and on shore crew members guided us all to spend the night in Monte Carlo's basketball stadium. Sleeping on top of a cardboard box (after evicting the dead cockroaches) on the floor of the stadium was memorable. We were eventually tendered back to the ship the following day. A special mention must be made about the work done by the ships crew. Some worked all day and then all night and then the following morning again. Provisions and medicines had been transferred from the ship in dangerous conditions. One crew member feel overboard and that to luck and some quick thinking but the tender operator managed to survive with just bruising. P and O must really think hard if they plan to visit Monaco when the boat shows on. Regarding the ship. It was my 4th cruise and this ship was my favourite. It's due a refit next year which should bring it back to being one of the fleets top ships. The food on board was incredible. Breakfast was top quality both in the buffet and the restaurants. We had the odd light buffet lunch, where there was a large choice, from soups to snacks to full meals. And the evening meals were just as good. We went to the Sindhu restaurant and had fabulous signature meal. Unmissable. The on board entertainment was good. But after the problems at Monaco extra activities and entertainment were added to the schedule. There was even a show in the afternoon. We are independent travellers when we arrive at ports. However we decided to take the excursion to Seville. The guides knew their facts and managed to bypass the large queue when entering the cathedral. Well worth the cost. Read Less
