This cruise was part of a Globus land tour of Greece. Embarkation was one of the smoothest ever experienced I'm sure because the Ship was only 3/4 full. We enjoyed the free drink package at no extra cost which was a real treat. You had a great selection of beer, wine and spirts. The service aboard was both professional and extremely friendly. The food was fantastic! We ate in the main dinning room 2 nights and enjoyed a great steak and a wonderful Chicken Kiev. Lots of choices with really great service. As others have reviewed, the excursions were a bit rushed. We were lucky to be on the first tinder to Santoriani, so we were able to get the photos we wanted. There were 5 ports of call on this sailing, so you were pretty busy! I really was surprised in how much I enjoyed this cruise. I've cruised many times before on much larger ships. Don't be afraid to try it! Read Less

I was really looking forward for this vacation, but it became terrible after booking this cruise. The ship was small, old and there was really nothing to do onboard. They didn’t even have the pools available to swim. I have been in different cruises before and I figured it was alright since the port destinations would make up for it. I was wrong, the excursions available were very unorganized. Staff was rude and unfriendly. There was no planned activities. Staff was not knowledgeable on instructions. They would announce meeting points at a certain time and they would be late. Food was terrible. Not much to do in she ship. I was traveling with 7 family members and we all felt the same way. I tried expressing my concerns to the cruise staff, but it was a waste of time. They simply didn't care. Never traveling in this cruise line again. Read Less

Choose this cruise to experience Greece and its food, drink and culture. The good is that Princess did an awesome job on embarkment (no wait) and disembarkment. Excursion organization and cleanliness, and great staff. It couldn’t have been any better. I rated 4 stars because I wouldn’t take this cruise again. It was boring. Entertainment was for older people ( we were a party of 8 in our late 50s and early 60s). Pool parties and piano bar weren’t what we had on other cruise lines. After dinner we struggled to find things to do. We were looking for dancing or comedy. There was one great band with a woman singer that we found 2 nights and that was the entertainment highlight. We had people in our party fall asleep and leave during auditorium shows. We did trivia a few times and that was fun. Food and drink were awesome. Service was exemplary. Shore excursions ... mostly good, organized, good guides and clean bus on all with no waits. Crete we did a beach excursion and when we got there there weren’t enough lounge chairs for our party to be together, stained cushions on loungers and you couldn’t swim cause of the rocks .. not what we expected. Now Corfus excursion was awesome town and cooking class. Highlight of the trip. We booked wanting to see white beaches and bluest water with the white buildings and saw none:(. Too windy to go to Mykonos (which we booked for) and princess did nothing for us that day ie, free drinks, more entertainment so that felt like a wasted day. One more thing, we were on a Greek cruise and the nightly dining had no Italian or Greek food or appetizers. Would highly recommend they change this to have 2 or 3 options for the area every night. Also the wine and beer of that region would be a plus. Would recommend this cruise for older people. Read Less

We went on this cruise because we had been on the Marella Dream in June, we had such a good time on the Dream we decided to go on the Discovery, so we could compare the two. we enjoyed both to be honest, although the Dream is smaller and older ship than the Discovery I'd say the Dream just piped the Discovery for us. We thought the Dream managed the people it had on board better than the Discovery, it just seemed to us that there were to many people for them to cope with comfortably. Don't get me wrong the staff were fantastic and worked very hard to make our stay as good as they could, we just thought the management had packed to many people on the ship. To give you an example if you were out and about at night there didn't seem to be enough seating for all the customers, I'm not sure if some parts of the Discovery were more popular than others but it did look odd that there were a lots of people having to stand because there were no seats available. Food on the Discovery was good and plentiful, we did have an issue with the bacon on the breakfast buffet which I have written to them about but that was all, just going back to the subject of room, we went as a couple and when we went to the 47 gallery or the 47 restaurant we wanted a table for two which we did get, but the tables were only separated by a few inches so there was no chance of a intermate or private conversation because you were so close to the next table. Now again don't get me wrong we are not loners and can mix with the best of them, but if I wanted to make eyes at my wife I don't want the women on the next table getting the wrong idea because we so close together. The cabins were nice and the staff kept them clean, the places we stopped were good, except Santorini which was a disappointment the place would be lovely if it wasn't for the vast amount of people, we expected it to be busy but goodness me it was packed to the rafters. My wife has a disability and walking is a problem so it was even harder for her to get around because the crowds, there were no places to rest for her because all the places were full, so we decided to go back to the ship, but even this was a big problem because the queue for the cable car back down the mountain was so long its was a long hot wait of 20 minutes before we got back down. So if you go on this cruise been warned its busy and hot at the top the crowds are mad and in our minds Santorini has that far away look, it looks better far away. All the other destinations on the trip were better and we enjoyed them. Over all we had a good time we will go again with TUI next year on a different ship and see how they do, look out for my review. Read Less

Aegean Shores – TUI Marella Discovery 2 (7 day cruise) This was our second TUI cruise and overall it was enjoyable and due to the ports of call. Booking I booked through the TUI offices in West Lothian and spoke to a lady called Lynne. She was absolutely fabulous and I can’t thank her enough for her time and assistance. Flights and Transfers The flights were on time and the in-flight service was excellent. My only issue is that once checked in we then had to collect our cases on arrival and haul them to coaches. Previously, once we’d checked in, the next time we saw our cases was outside our cabin door. Cabin Our cabin was spacious and I only have praise for housekeeping staff, Irinya who serviced our cabin on a daily basis and was excellent. Food We ate almost exclusively in the 47° restaurant for breakfast, dinner and the occasional lunch. The waiter service was friendly and efficient. Sometimes we had to wait for a table but never longer than 20 minutes. The food was varied and of good quality. Unfortunately the food elsewhere on board was not so good. Snack Shack – This busy pool side food area serves chips, battered fish and chicken wings, all day EVERY DAY! This became very monotonous which was frustrating and disappointing. Also the sandwiches were wrapped in a paper bag and had minimum fillings of very poor quality. The salads came in a flimsy cardboard container that fell apart once you picked it up and the salad was 80% lettuce. The Glass House – Only visited this once and that was enough. Very poor selection of food available which was hidden behind glass counters, very poor quality and variety. The Islands – Busy self-service restaurant, only visited this for afternoon tea. Again very disappointed in the quality and variety of food offered here. Sandwiches made with thick sliced bread and minimum fillings. Selection of cakes (if you could call them cakes) was of very poor quality and the only hot choice on EVERY DAY was sausage roll! With the exception of the 47° restaurant the food on offer was of poor quality and cheap! Drinks It is an all-inclusive package so most drinks are included in the price. My only issues with this are: * Unless you pay an extra £50 bottled water is chargeable * When ordering drinks if you don’t specify the brand name of the alcohol you want you get served the cheap rubbish! * The bar staff were very thin on the ground and on occasions you had to wait some considerable time to get served. And the bar staff had trouble keeping a check of who was next to being served and on occasions just wandered off. * The cocktails were very disappointing, the bar staff simply threw them together so each time you had one they tasted different. Also the glasses were never decorated or accompanied with fruit that you would expect to be part of the cocktail experience – again very disappointing. Entertainment This was the most disappointing aspect of the cruise, with the exception of the Broadway Show Lounge. Elsewhere on the ship the entertainment was shabby, boring and a holiday camp could have provided a better standard. There were 3 grand pianos on board, one in the 47° restaurant, the Atrium and the Live Room. The only piano played was in the Live Room. So no background pianist during dinner or in the Atrium, despite the fact a pianist was on board. In fact on one occasion two of the entertainment staff were holding an evening dance class in the Atrium bar and the music came from a laptop placed ON TOP of the piano! It seems more common that the Atrium is used for entertainment when a pianist playing music or taking requests would have been more than sufficient and relaxing. On the last night the entertainment staff gave a farewell musical event in the Atrium bar, they were all casually dressed, un co-ordinated and singing to a backing track which was very amateurish, uninspiring and cheesy. The opera singer was superb but singing Time to Say Goodbye on the last night was a cringe-fest. On the day of departure many of us had late flights but had to vacate our cabins by 08.30. As a result passengers were sat in the Atrium and other bars killing time and milling around. During the whole day no entertainment was provided and the shops were shut. Passengers sat around as if they were in an airport departure lounge or doctors surgery, very disappointing. Clearly an example of key staff assigned other duties and a possible reflection of how understaffed the ship was. Excursions The excursions were more expensive than our last cruise and we only booked two as a result. The Athens excursion cost £65pp. We set off about 9am and were back on the ship by 1pm. During this time we spent just over an hour at the Acropolis, the rest of the time was spent on the bus with places of interest pointed out to us as we drove past. This was by no means value for money and I certainly would not recommend this excursion to anyone. Although our guide was excellent and well informed and her capabilities not a result if any input from Marella. The bicycle ride in Crete cost £36pp. On our last cruise we took a bicycle excursion in Ibiza which we thoroughly enjoyed. They are not cheap but as we enjoyed the bike ride we booked again in Crete expecting similar. I have to say that the staff in charge of the bike excursion were fantastic (Sophie & George) and I have no complaints about them, however I do feel disappointed with the excursion. My complaint centres the duration and time spent actually cycling. Within 20 minutes of starting we had a 45 minute stop in Heraklion, which was fine. We then cycled for approx. 30-40 mins to some obscure beach and spent about 11/2 hours there. We then headed back to the ship and arrived approx. 2pm. All in all very disappointing due to short duration and minimum time actually cycling! Summary Aspects of the cruise were enjoyable and met our expectations but it was crystal clear that TUI were trying to cut costs wherever possible, particularly the standard and quality of food offered, the entertainment and the number of staff. It’s tempting to say that it was a floating holiday camp when, with a little creative thought and small expense, it could be so much more than it was. It has certainly made us think twice about booking again with TUI. Read Less

The cruise is really good the activity's for kids are a climbing wall a mini golf 9 holes 2 swimming pools one inside and one outside also there is a games room called hideout for the children to chill out and play on the Xbox and the football table. The entertainment is fantastic with 4 different venues to choose from and they have a casino. the bars were clean and sold a verity of alcohols from shots to beer to cocktails. the crew are so friendly saying hello and always ready to help really good custom. The sail away party was absolutely fantastic with live performances from DJ Tomas and a band that I cant remember there name and a flag parade to see were parts of the crew come from. definitely arrange with TUI they are stars amazing job Read Less

We chose this trip by chance, and I had the most wonderful 3.5 days in the cruise. Before the trip begins I know there will be little time on the islands and Athens, but this was what I've chosen and approved before payment. Everything was just perfect. We've stayed in juniour suite, which was quite big room for a cruise, everything was clean, and whenever we stop at the islands and come back, we found our room cleaned just perfectly. Dining was much better than I've expected, service was very rapid and kind in the restaurants. All the staff was friendly, kind and with smiling faces.Night shows were excellent, and luckily among 1600 people, around 700 of them from World Cruise Party and it was very entartaining to watch them partying around the pool. Pool was very small but who wants to swim in a pool when you are in endless seas!.. I adored our ship, the rescue boats hanging near the sides make the ship a bit nostalgic and cute. You may take your time while crusing, in your cabin to rest, in different lounges to listen to music or drink something, eating, sunbathing at the pool side, gambling in casino, walking at the deck, watching the waves from the deck and etc. In Patmos, Santorini and Mykonos boats got us from the ship to the ports which was very fun since to watch our ship from a boat was very exciting. Our turkish guide was excellent. I'll remember this cruise with very lovely memories. Read Less

This sailing was incredible from start to finish! The staff were all friendly, helpful, and couldn't do enough for you. The ship was an older classic style yacht, very comfortable but definitely a dated look to it. The cabins were small but comfortable, the beds were a little on the hard side for my taste but were still cozy enough to get a good night's sleep. The food on board was wonderful! The kitchen staff outdid themselves at every meal. I swear we barely ever stopped eating on board, as soon as breakfast was cleared, someone was out offering fresh slices of watermelon, then lunch, then a dish of sorbet on the sun deck, then an amazing dinner and cocktails, definitely overdid it but everything was impeccable. The cruise director was always knowledgeable about our ports, giving us plenty of insight on what to do while in each country (Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece). I do think the excursions could be improved upon though, they only offered a couple excursions in each port, and they were participation based, so if the one you wanted didn't have enough guests, it didn't happen. That being said, the only port I think an excursion is truly necessary is Albania. My favorite stops were Korcula, Kotor, Anti-Paxos and Paxos (Anti-Paxos had the best beach and bluest waters I've ever seen in my life!). I would gladly travel with Variety in the future, and look forward to the day I get to sail with them again! Read Less

I decided to book the Greek Mystique cruise as my wife has had surgery recently and really needed to recuperate and recover. After check in at Gatwick we didn't see our luggage again until delivered to our cabin I can not tell you how amazing that was not to have to face the hustle and bustle of the airport baggage carousels! I rater enjoyed the main resturaunt as they operate an open seating dining plan so we were able to dine with new people every evening, which when we usually cruise on Seabourn and Azamara we have a fixed table and dining companions for the duration of the cruise -so Marella has hit on a good idea on the occasions where one may be sitted on a dining table with 'cruise snobs'.Which in the past we have had to endure! We are retired although a young 59 and 61, we tend to book 4 cruises per year one for each season. We have one Seabourn and one Azamrara then 2 cheaper options which this year is Marella and Cruise & Maritime to try the other end of the market. The ship Celebration was old as described on CC.reviews, but it was perfectly clean and comfortable. We prefer to have waiter service at meals as my wife isn't always able to stand and queue for periods of time and apart from the very last morning when there was literally not a seat to be had this worked perfectly for us. Our cabin steward was superb so although tips are included we left him cash in an envelope cabin was cleaned and towels replenished twice daily. My wife purchased two Radley handbags which she said were great value. we are not drinkers so didn't opt for the AI Drinks package(due to my wife's medication). We did take excursions which although costly were not exhorbitant but much more importantly safe for my wife's comfort. We ate in Mistrals which was a delight -highly recommended especially drunken prawns delicious! The Ports of call were delightful especially KOTORin Mo ntenegro and sailing out of Dubrovnik at night ! STUNNING. keeping the best till last- just has to be the entertainment. THE showteam were leaving and a new team and Cruise Director was starting the week after we disembarked. They were amazing and the show Africa was wonderful. We really thought it couldn't get any better until Monday when the Guest Act came on to do his show. His name was Christopher Gee and he was superb, my wife laughed so much it was sheer joy to behold. And his comedy impressions were stunning-the thing we could't work out was how can every voice he did be so accurate and yet he even manages to look like each person he takes on. His Tommy Cooper had everyone in stiches, and his Eric Morecambe had us all fighting off a tear at the much loved comedian but the absolute hIghlight was his one man tribute to Dave Allen it was so perfect even down to him holding a whiskey glass with only half a forefinger, his attention to detail was astounding. He recieved a richly deserved standing ovation! The neXt night was his second show and there simply wasn't a seat to be had and extra chairs from the bars were brought in, but the show was totally different Alan Carr/Michael Macintyre/Ozzy/he also did an hilarious BORIS AND Donald Trump had us ill with laughter very up to date you could hear a pin drop and that was after midnight. He was very personable young man and told us he will be on Marella Dream later in the year so we are booking that one too! We love the shows and we don't watch a lot of comedians to be fair- but I just had to post this review as everyone is quick to complain but not always ready to say a big well done Marella for booking a comedian impressionist that did nor offend one single person no un PC material or smut involved just FUNNY!!! The entire ship was talking about him the next day. in all one has to commend Marella ,especially at their price point as I assure you we have got much less from paying 4 times more!!! Read Less

My husband and I decided to finally take our honeymoon trip (almost 3 years later) as we were saving it for something big. We have always wanted to visit Greece (was on our bucket list) but also craved the adventure part, so we decided to go on a cruise. As we were browsing cruise lines in internet we agreed that we didn't want a big cruise, we were looking for something more personal and special, and we now can say Variety Cruises offers exactly that deal. Our journey aboard the Galileo was one of the most exciting experiences I've had, starting by the breathtaking views and relaxed vibe. One of the highlights is the staff, they make sure everyone is comfortable at all times, very diligent and empathetic people with a genuine smile on their face, that made them look like family at the end of our journey. They even learn everyone's name and make sure nobody's left out. One of the positive things about it is that they gave us plenty of time to visit each of the Greek islands, you can enjoy the daytime as nighttime. We made friends easily on the Galileo and enjoyed every moment of it. We have no doubt that we'll make another trip with Variety Cruises in the future, couldn't recommend it more.! Read Less

Holland America’s greatest flaw is not providing enough accurate information. This is not a new problem. We have observed this on all our HAL cruises. Celebrity does a much better job. There are so many ways that the information services could be improved. For example: •Put the port talks on the TV like you used to. We can’t always attend in person. •If you list port information on the TV, give real information and not just photos. And show all the ports, not just a few. •If an excursion is only for back-to-back cruisers, say so in the description. Don’t make me go to the desk and stand in line to find that out. •The maps in the brochure and the interactive maps didn’t always agree! Good grief. •There should be a way to hear the announcements in the room. It is very hard to hear them otherwise. We have to run to the door and open it when we think we hear an announcement, and we often miss it. Other cruise lines have a switch with an option to hear in the room or not. •There are others.... can’t list them all. The food on the ship was OK, but I only had one meal that I thought was excellent. On the positive side, the bed in our cabin was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! The cabin attendants and waiters were superb. And I love the soap and shampoo with their nice fragrance and tingle. Read Less

Cruise was part of a tour package and things started off well. My experience is definitely colored by the air conditioning not working in my cabin until the last night despite numerous maintenance requests. I would try to find a much smaller ship if I did it again, most ports are in small towns and getting everyoneon and off the ship is quite an adventure. Given these difficulties, they did do a fantastic job in this respect. The shore tours were for the most part amazing and were done through local guides. Service and food onboard was abysmal! You know that clear crust that forms on fried eggs if you don't clean breakfast before work? On the second day, I noticed this on them and it got progressively worse. You have no choice either you are seated, so unless you go to breakfast in groups of 10, you will be mixed with random people unless you're lucky and get a smaller table. Wait staff was always so busy cleaning, that little waiting was ever done. Very few drinks are included in you drinks included so plan on an extra 14 euros per day per person. You will also have to find a water every time you need water. Give them your card and they will bring it back with 300ml bottle. Plan on chronic dehydration or buy your own larger bottles on shore somewhere. Don't plan on having wifi even though it is technically available. It is sold a few hours at a time (no option to buy amounts of data so you can stay connected with friends and family). Not that it would help since wifi is only available in public areas, not your cabin! Read Less

No sleep for first three night due to noisy mechanical faults in corridor affecting eight cabins in a row, blocked toilets everywhere on board, water coming up through vent in showe least 2 inches deep. Workmen outside cabin for three days unable to fix the faults. Filthy sunloungers covered in food spilt drinks etc these loungers never wiped over before they was put away. The smell of dirty old fat with poor quality food from the outside Liddo bar, inside the Liddo restaurant was average to poor quality food barely warm daily. The Medusa restaurant average food again not hot. Dirty decking areas from spilt drinks with glasses remaining from two nights before. False advertising and misleading pricing in the on board shop, lipsticks clearly priced direct underneath the item with NO other items in the window at £6.50 but in the shop priced as £16.50, manager uncooperative and rude when this was pointed out. This is only the tip of the iceberg, I have photos to support everything I have stated. This was our very first cruise but we went with my sister who has been on 20 cruises and the second time on this ship, she couldn't believe how standards have fallen and how must smaller the all inclusive package had gotten, all inclusive doesn't mean that at all. There is a definite feeling of TUI (Thompson) crabbing every penny they can and even misleading people to get it. We chose our cabins with 20 cruises worth of experience and paid £47 each more to ensure peace and tranquility, how wrong could we have been. I don't take any medication at all but after three nights with very little sleep I had to result in asking another passenger foe sleeping tablets. The all inclusive package was reduced and difficult to work out with staff making mistakes resulting in passengers being billed. The itinerary was changed from Turkey to Greece disappointed we still chose to go only to have the new itinerary cut short due to late docking or no docking at all in Rhodes, this was due to the tug breakdown. This ship goes for a complete refurbishment in November and quite frankly it is in desperate need of it now, our cabin number was 5022 through to 5038 all suffered the same troubles. Read Less

We booked Thomson due to previous experiences, but on arrival the room was filthy and very dusty, the windows throughout the entire ship needed cleaning. The bar service was awful, some were very slow and very rude, they need retraining. The restaurant service was very good, although the food in the main restaurant was awful. The chicken tasted like it was days old and the beef was too overcooked and looked and tasted like a cheap cut. The Lido restaurant was the best place to eat, although there was not as much choice as other Thomson Ships. The public toilets were also very unclean, smelly and not checked enough. The ports were excellent, although they should have put on shuttle busses in some ports as the walk to get into the nearest bar was approximately 2 miles away from the ship. Not on for people who find it hard to walk. The entertainment on the ship was excellent. The show team were at a west end standard. The entertainment hosts were very friendly and always very approachable. Embarkation was also very un organised and took too long to get through especially after a very long day travelling. Overall it seemed like they have neglected the other ships in favour of the newer ships. Read Less

We had a great time; last year we were on the Galileo and this year on the Harmony G; (next year Cuba). The Harmony G is a good ship with a good lay-out. There is a nice deck in the back but you cannot walk around the boat outside or go outside in the front of the boat (on the Galileo you cold walk around the boat outside and had a lot of outdoor space and we liked that better) Having been to Greece the year prior, we explored on our own this year and were off the ship most days right after breakfast and returned after dinner. We wanted to get as much of the local culture as possible. I did extensive research on Trip Advisor and looking at Google Maps to see the areas we were going prior to leaving home. The islands are friendly and easy and fun to navigate. The only excursion we did was to Delos and that was really cool. Be aware you do not have to take the same boat to and back from Delos - after we realized this we stayed an extra 2 hours to explore the island, café, museum and small shop. On Crete we hired a driver to see more of the island than just Knossos and were gone from boat 12+ hours but had a great time exploring on our own! The service was good but better on the Galileo and overall preferred last years boat but both trips were great. The crew on the Galileo spoke much better English. The demographics of these trips are mostly older 65-70+ ages. We were 1 of 3 younger couples (in 50s) both years we went. Last year it was a mix of Australian, European and Americans. This year a group of Americans had their own guide (private tour) and that was 60% of the boat and most all of the others were also Americans - much different each trip. The food on the boat was really fancy and a little too "foodie" for us; we like basic food; if you like exotic food with some spices you will like it; many people were not thrilled with the meals. If you like small ship cruising, I think this is a great company and a good value. You have to have a sense of adventure because with changing weather you may not see the islands on the schedule. Last year was very windy and the trip was much different than advertised but we went to other islands and had a great time exploring those other islands. This year there was no wind and the seas were flat the entire time and the schedule was exactly as the itinerary stated. Read Less

Me & my husband have cruised on a few ships before, so were really looking forward to the Argean Meze on Thompson Dream. On the positive points- the crew and majority of the staff are in the main really pleasant. The food is relatively good with surfice vegetarian & other alternative diets available. We ate mostly in The Lido restaurant on deck 9 which is buffet style. We found the food to be hot, and nicely presented, different soups served each day- which were really tasty. Breakfasts & lunches were nice with lots of choices. We ate a couple of times in Mistral restaurant on deck10 but as this is near the pool area it can get crowded quickly and is noisy. There are 2 restaurants on ship that you pay a service charge of approx £20 that we didn't bother using. The negative points as follows: the ship is very tired and dated and in need of total refurbishment. Visible rust on balconies and an unpleasant drain smell from the toilets especially on deck 8. We had a balcony cabin on deck 8 ( we were informed when booking that there are only 10 of these onboard that had recently been refurbished) we have stayed in cabins and suites with balconies previously so was expecting certain standard. However cabin was very small and balconies have large gaps each side thus impacting on your privacy. The Clarins toiletries were the best thing about the cabin! The adult only area on deck 11 ( one of the reasons we chose this ship). Had been converted back to family area due to customer feedback- we were informed in the welcome pack when onboard- we think we should've been made aware of this prior to the holiday.. Decks 10 & 11 were very rowdy and kids were running everywhere- all the sun beds were always taken so we did not spend anytime up there. Entertainment was mediocre at times & not to the standard we've experienced on other ships. The excursions were good although would be much cheaper if you arranged them yourself. All in all an "OK" holiday but would not go on this ship again regardless of its destination. Read Less

Best price great destination . They offer high standard food very good service, the cabins were excellent. The entertainment team offered a great show. We had a fantastic time. The staff was excellent the were very organized with the embarkation and debarkation. They had a big choice of drinks , cocktails, milkshakes. They offered a big selection of catering grill night greek cosine mediterenian , Chinese. Choice of food for children pizza burgers hotdog. The entertainers were great they offered a very well organized and directed shows the dancers were excellent. They offered a disco after 11 also greek music. The offered a big choice of shore excursion . The destination were excellent. I suggest that the ship should stay night at Mykonos and reduce the time in Rhodes island. The ship person ell was helping passengers in disembarkation. The price include excursion in efesos. The guide was very good she gave us a lot of information about efesos. Read Less

After having travelled on other ships we were persuaded by friends to try the Thomson Dream, we are pleased we did. From embarking at Corfu we found the staff to be very attentive as my husband struggled to carry our bags a young man helped us and we found our bags outside our cabin door. That night we ate in the buffet style dining room as we could not be bothered to get dressed up on our first night. After eating we sat and had a quiet drink and then walked to the theatre named the Broadway Lounge. This theatre looked grand compared to some we have visited in the past. Myself and my husband do have a passion for shows and like to travel to the West End at least once a month to watch professional shows. However, after reading recent reports on here of how 'low' the entertainment team perform I must say I completely disagree. The dancers, particularly the three small female dancers were exceptional and their performance skills were excellent. The only 'low' point for myself was that the show was not long enough. We did not attend the sail away party as we were so tired from our traveling. On return to our cabin our steward had already been in and pulled the sheets back and placed chocolates on each pillow. Our cabin was on the 8th deck and was an outside plus. It was spacious and clean but we had been in bigger cabins with previous ships. Over the next few days we explored some beautiful ports such as Rhodes, Santorini and Kefalonia but we did struggle with the heat but we shouldn't really complain of this. Rhodes was my favourite as it had some glorious buildings in the Old Town and we both felt that Thomsons gave us enough time to explore off the ship. The food was excellent and we spent the majority of the time eating breakfast in Sirons and the waiter served dining room each night. The foods each time were hot, creative and devine with the portions being small but adequate. The waiters were very kind and helpful and we got to know a few and they welcomed us each night to our table. Again we watched the entertainment all week in the theatre and although I said earlier the three girls were exceptional I did feel that the singers were too, the only weakness for me were the male dancers who could not lift the girls correctly or had the technique needed throughout the dances. My favourite shows were Africa and Moulon Rouge as I loved watching these three small girls dance especially the little blond girl who danced Roxanne, splendid!!!! However, my husband preferred the singing shows such as the cabaret ones. One of the boy singers we got speaking to during our stay and he was telling us how many weeks of rehearsing goes into these shows and how many shows they have to learn, when listening to them they sound very professional and need applauding. When he was speaking of the team it was interesting to know that two of the girls are sisters which when he pointed them out to me I would never have guessed!! We watched a group of them singing one night in the big lounge and again we were impressed. Although we are elderly many of the guests got up to dance and looked like they were having an amazing time. Again we evidence this on another night when a very small dark girl sang by herself, she may be tiny but she had a powerful voice and the guests were again dancing on the dance floor in front of her. With the food, the cabins and the entertainment excelling through our stay we have decided to rebook on this lovely ship for New Year and I cannot contain my excitement. Thank you everyone for allowing me to make some special memories with my dearest husband. Read Less

From The moment that you step on-board you move into a bygone age of service the staff work tirelessly to ensure that ever guest feels special. Where nothing that is too much trouble and the guests whims are catered for from getting a drink to advise on the next port of call of events back home. The cabins were a lot bigger that I was expecting with space to relax if required. The bathroom is small but has everything you need. There is plenty of cupboard space to hang and store you suites and dresses there are a set of draws for everything else. We stored our cases under the bed where there was loads of space. We were a little worried about the amount of plugs in the cabin reading loads of stories and reviews on how bad ships are for such things. There were in fact 5 usable plugs in the room more than you find in most hotel rooms. We made use of the ones for the bedside lights to charge mobile phones just like I do at home. There is a good TV in the room that shares information about the ship and has music and TV channels to watch tip if you are staying in an inner cabin then the channel showing the view from the bridge is a must as they drop the lights at night so you are just left with a dark screen but with be light again in the morning showing you what the weather is doing. We found that the food on board was of a good standard with something for everyone we always found something to eat in the Lido. We enjoyed eating in the Orion restaurant with its more formal setting and full waiter service. There was only one formal night whilst we were on board where everyone dressed up in their finest and looking great. I know some people dislike this part of cruising but I think it shows the best in people that they participated in the spirit of days gone by sailing. Previsions were made for the guests that did not want to take part with service as normal in the Lido restaurant thought out the night. The entertainment on the ship is great from the shows to the singers and bands the whole ship rocks to the vibe of happy guests. The bar staff and waiters work tirelessly to ensure our glass is never empty and the good times flow. We had renovations about how much we would enjoy the whole experience of life at sea. Everyone in our party loved it and were asking when they could do it again. Book with confidence that you will have one of the best holidays you have ever had on board. Read Less

First time on a cruise went as a group of friends who all live in Cyprus, Some had been before on this cruise but we were 6 newbies to cruising. We took a taxi to Limassol from Paphos arrived in Limassol about 12.30 and were guided to place to get your information pack and leave your luggage took a little while to do this but got paperwork and cabin number had to go through customs and then went aboard ship we had to register a debit/credit card and then we were given a card which you use for meals and drinks. We had already booked the drinks package so everything you got was recorded on this card and you could get a print out anytime but we got our final printout on final day of the cruise. Some cocktails, water and some food ie steaks were chargeable but you were told about this before you used the card. We we directed to our cabin which was an outside cabin with porthole and a double bed, shower , wc, and mini bar. All towels including beach towels were provided. We were very happy with the cabin it was roomy and was just what we wanted. We went on deck and sat with friends for a drink and something to eat. We didn't set sail until 9pm so we had plenty of time to explore and get our bearings. We went down to dinner in the Compass Rose restaurant and our waitors introduced themselves the menu consisted of a starter, main course and sweet if you didn't like anything on the menu there was also a snack menu ie cheeseburger, toasties etc . Didn't have a problem with getting a meal as you had choices to choose from water was free with your meal and of course you could have a drink too. Had some great meals well cooked and tasty although I had fillet steak which was chargeable at £12,95 and I tried it on 3 different nights and it was chewy I did send it back but it was still the same. My friend had T-bone steak and that was OK so maybe just the cut of meat. I did enjoy most of the food though so don't be put off, The show was on after dinner and they were all excellent different every night so plenty of variety and we also had a comedian for 2 nights and he was very funny and everyone enjoyed his shows, We tried a taster at the Casino for £5 where you were shown how to play Black Jack, Poker and Roulette really enjoyed this as never been in a Casino before and we were allowed to have a go at playing without risk for a while. We went and played a few times and really enjoyed it, Went to the Horizons bar, Lido bar,High Spirits Nightclub, Raffles bar and Casino, Broadway Show lounge, Sirocco A La Carte Restaurant, Beauty Salon, we tried everything so you could have easy listening music , shows, and even Kareoke so take your pick, Breakfact was great huge selection of food to choose from and snacks available all day, We were on an all inclusive food and drinks package so we could just eat and drink whenever we felt like it. I did quite a few treatments in the Beauty Salon Hair, nails, facials and massage plenty of packages to choose from enjoyed them all well worth the money. We didn't do any of the Ports and Shore excursions we just went ashore as a group and walked around ourselves had plenty of retail theraphy especially in Kusadasi Turkey Weather was cloudy and rain in first port Mykonos found a coffee shop to have a hot drink as cold and wet. Didn't go ashore at Pireaus (Athens) so can't review that' Kos was great went ashore and found shops and sea fromt OK.Alyana was lovely very clean and nice looking place would love a holiday there.Found a lovely park to sit and have a coffee in weather was now sunny and warm. The only issue we did have was when we were moved out of our cabin for maintenance there was water on the carpet near the door which we never even noticed until we found a drying machine in our room. We were asked to moved so we had to pack again and move to another room which was a lot smaller you had to crawl up the bed as there was no room either side and beds were right up to the wall and the shower was useless as it was pointing into a corner and couldn't be moved so the water was running over the soap dispenser and not on you and the shower tray was filling up and not empting. We complained and asked to be upgraded and moved but were told nothing was available. We were not happy with this so next day went up amd asked for a complaints form we were then told they might have another cabin for us and we agreed to return later and have a look at the cabin offered. We went back and the cabin was a family room cabin light and roomy and we moved again. So we packed and unpacked 3 times. We did ask and received compensation but it was a bit of hassle we could have done without. However it didn't spoil the holiday and we are even thinking of booking again In November.we enjoyed it so much, Read Less

I personally loved this cruise! The crew were excellent, the entertainment was great, the excursions were great too. I loved everything about the cruise. We had an Olive Oil thematic. This meant a few interesting presentations by an olive oil expert (GAEA) , a food blogger (https://www.facebook.com/cookandfeel.gr/?pnref=lhc) and an archaeologist that worked on olives too. All three were amazing at what they did and it made for an interesting and informative. Of course that also meant food tastings that were excellent. Then every night we had a dance troupe (Cirque Fantastic) that always gave an amazing show, with a different theme every night. I'm not even a fan of these shows but they kept me coming back every night. The excursions were great too. You have a few that you can do without the cruise excursions, and a few that you really need the guide to get the full experience. The crew were very helpful in showing us what what on each excursion so we could make our minds about which to take. The animation crew were just phenomenal, and less obvious but the entire support staff did a wonderful job. The ship is smaller and older that a luxury cruise would offer, but I didn't care much for that, what I remember are the great experiences we had on board and at all the stops. Read Less
