We wanted to see historic Europe in a guided carefree way. The actual cruise and destinations were awesome. We seen so much history and met some wonderful interesting people. Emerald really did a good job organizing the itinerary. However there was so much coughing and people that were very sick. The ambulance came to the ship 5 times and took people away. My wife contracted pneumonia and is still ...
We were going to London for a family wedding chose this Emerald cruise mostly due to the dates and their solo cabins.
The cruise included free airfare and since we were going to London, Emerald booked us flights to London rather than Prague, several days earlier, without any additional fees. We booked our own flight to Prague and still got the included transfer to the hotel. ...
We had sailed Emerald before and rated it highly, so when we decided on the Danube they were our #1 choice. It’s an attractive well maintained ship with plenty of crew. The weather wasn’t so great so the top deck got little use, but that’s April in Europe. The pre cruise stay in Prague was really good, a very nice and helpful tour director and a comfortable hotel (Majestic Plaza). Well organised ...
We are experienced river cruisers and usually love the on board experience, our cruise on the Sky was the opposite. We transferred from the Star due to low water levels and the experience could not have been more different.
The ship wasn't full but the noise levels in the restaurant were intolerable. Groups of younger Americans competed to see who could make the most noise, including whooping ...
We choose because of going with VBT bike tours. We were treated well by the cruise staff and VBT leaders. Layout of cabin perfect. Beautiful room and panoramic picture window.
Great location new to us. Weather surprisingly perfect. Coffee excellent. Appreciate free water bottles in room and on leaving ship. Spacious storage of cabin. Best layout of a cabin on a cruise we have ever had. Good ...
This cruise was arranged through Vermont Biking Tours VBT. The cabin were similar to Avalon, Viking, and Uniworld quality. The staff was excellent speaking English very well and very professional. However, the dining experience is much to be desired. Breakfast and lunch were adequate. Dinner was another matter. The dining room was noisy and it was very difficult to converse. The main course ...
We actually started in Prague, then overland to Budapest where we boarded the Emerald Destiny. However due to low water levels we had to leave the Destiny around Rudesheim, travel by bus and board and continue the cruise on the Emerald Sky to Amsterdam.
The whole transfer was managed superbly without any hassles. In fact the ~200km bus trip gave us a different scenery .

Wanted to see the Rhine and Danube in comfort and good food with nice company and excellent service. This is what was achieved.
Great bunch of Australians and New Zealand guests on board.
The staff were superb, probably the best crew ever on any ship or hotel where we have stayed. The boat was roomy, very clean and all inclusive meant all inclusive without having to pay for any extras. ...
The ship is wonderfully built, very clean and functional. The rooms made the most of space and had great storage. We were on the top sleeping floor and found it very quiet, although some of our fellow passengers did not have the same experience on the lower floors. The daily excursions were run without a hitch and ran like clock work. The food was 5 star and abundant. The crew took care of ...
We had a wonderful time on our cruise. Every stop was beautiful. Our crew was always friendly and helpful. We chose to do both the Prague extension at the beginning and the Budapest extension at the end. Our local guide in Prague (Martina) was wonderful. When we wanted to attend a concert, she made suggestions on which one we should go to, and called to make sure there were tickets available. ...
