Tips to know ahead of time
"So yeah, it's strange to be able to grab the amazing free pizza near the pool (delicious and a highlight of the food) or grab a burger or hot dog at the pool but no complimentary drinks to be found anywhere.Other windows have solid boats in front of them so do you research ahead of time if you're looking for a great obstructed view deal...."Read More

Some good experiences and some not so good

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Emerald Princess

We chose a Mexican Riviera cruise for a family event (10 people). Overall, it was pleasant but there were some bumps. We had a Club Class Mini-Suite. The bed was very comfy and the room had plenty of storage. Everything is a bit dated, but it was spotlessly clean. Our room attendant was fantastic. Reserve Collection dining was very nice on embarkation day (we had lunch there right after ...

3 1/2 stars: This is a very very very long review. You might be reading this in a panic thinking, what did I do...I booked the Emerald and everyone is leaving horrific reviews. So I thought I'd write a review that might help people make the most of their vacation if they are already locked in at the 90 day mark. OK. It's not THAT bad. I had a great time knowing some things ahead of time. I ...

Emerald Princess: My 1st Princess Cruise.

I'm writing this review of my (very first non-Carnival!) cruise aboard the Emerald Princess. This was a 5 day cruise with 2 days (an overnight) in Cabo from 5/27/23 to 6/2/23. I will preface this review by confessing that I am a regular cruiser on Carnival; I am not bougie and didn't really have any high expectations for this trip, although I've heard, of course, that Princess is classier and ...

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Emerald Princess

Our review is based solely on our personal observation on this 15 day cruise. For us, never again will we take that long of a cruise. The main reason is that the guests are generally seniors,, We are 65 and 68 and we found most people considerably older than us and many have never heard the word restraint when using perfumes and other scented products. By day 10 my allergies were through ...

First time on Princess. It felt like "old folks" day at the casino. Average age was pushing 70. The ship itself was very chopped up. Not one single deck to walk around the entire ship. The only deck for outdoor walking was just below the lifeboats and closed down half the time for painting, etc. Couldn't they have done that during the Covid shutdown? It was only possible to get from aft to ...

Getting on the ship was terrible, people were waiting over 2 hours just to get inside the building. They were only letting in 2-3 people at a time. The overall appearance of the ship was good. The food in the upstairs buffet was not very good. The dinning room had 2-3 good nights to choose from and the rest were not so good of choices. It's a good thing they have salmon on the everyday side of the ...

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Emerald Princess

This was my longest ever cruise, at 15 nights aboard the Emerald Princess. I got to be reacquainted with the good, so-so, and bad in the 2+ weeks. Embarkation was a nightmare. The inbound arrival was 5 hours late in disembarking. Check in actually stopped, as they had no place to put anymore people without violating the capacity for the fire escapes. Unfortunately, the Los Angeles vendor staff ...

My First Cruise with Princess - the Panama Canal

Sailing through the Panama Canal was checked off my bucket list. We selected this cruise through a local travel agent (not our regular agency) because of the itinerary and the deal. We got a mid-ship, port side balcony cabin on B (11th) deck. This was our first Princess cruise and we came away agreeing that it would probably be our last. But first, I will say some of what we did like about our ...
