"A ship officer eventually spoke over a microphone telling us that we would soon be moving forward and after one final scrum, it all disappeared behind us and we were on board at last!Embarkation was great to begin with as the bags were taken, then the rows of ladies quickly sorted us a token but step 3 - the ‘sit here and wait’ part seemed chaotic and cold, especially to a group of mainly 60 to 80+ year olds most of whom were travel tired and just wanted to sit down and be informed of the next step or even how long they might have to wait...."Read More

1-10 of 53 Princess Emerald Princess Cruise Reviews for Senior to Alaska
Our second cruise with Princess and both in the same cabin, seven years apart. The ship looks well used, inside and out, though it still functions well, thanks to the efforts and boundless enthusiasm of the hardworking crew.
The best place for us on this ship has always been the Piazza. It’s central and has good coffee and cakes for a morning graze whilst you get to watch the world go by, hence ...
Having never cruised Princess, 2 positives stood out. The technology of Medallion Class, and their check-in process. Now did the app work perfectly, 100% of the time? No. Of course not. I’ve never had a day at work where my internet was perfect, but I’m not quitting my job over it. We are also in the middle of a freaking ocean, so it’s pretty impressive to have any service at all. The food was ...
Overall, we recommend both the Emerald Princess and also this itinerary. We had a fabulous time and really enjoyed the trip! The Panama Canal is a "must see" for any traveler and Princess does it right! We had Traditional early dining at 5:15 in the Botticelli - it was great - very attentive staff. We also ate at SHARE (excellent) and Planks (Good). Pools were good but crowded, Movies under the ...
This was a short 3 day cruise from LA to Vancouver. It is spring break so there were lots of young people and kids onboard, many celebrating special events like birthdays. We dined in both the Crown Grill and Share and the food was great. Service in the main dining room and the food seemed the usual Princes approach. There was concern expressed by someone that since the ship is heading to dry ...
Embarkation went smoothly; there was consideration for our limited mobility (we both had walkers) and did not wait in long line-ups. Our cabin was on Plaza deck and as we approached we heard a considerable level of noise in the hallway which was a mystery to us at first. The cabin was spacious and met all our needs.
Accessibility aboard the ship was never a problem, except in the hallway ...
Good times on the Emerald! We were celebrating a big birthday & a wild & crazy 2nd wedding. Very good time had by all. The Skywalker lounge was a great meeting point for everyone.
I found the staterooms were rather small so definitely book a mini suite with a balcony! Beds were incredibly comfortable. Service was very good, too. We had a minor issue with our bathrobes NOT being in the room ...
We took this cruise because of all the sea days plus the ease of getting to Vancouver.
As there was only the Emerald in port, embarkation was a breeze. We booked a Suite so there was a dedicated line for check-in.
Speaking of Suites, here is where I get snooty. We have cruised many times, usually atthe Suite level. Princess does not treat their Suite passengers with nearly enough ...
We chose this cruise for being round trip from Vancouver.
Embarkation was very fast since we were almost the last to board the ship. Our luggage arrived inside our cabin very quickly. The seas were rough leaving Vancouver and we couldn't sit by the pool till day 5 where we watched Mamma Mia!
We were disappointed with the selection and food in the dining room. The Crown Grill and Share ...
My husband and I chose this cruise because we wouldn't have to fly. Our home port is Vancouver. Also, neither one of us is a beach vacation person but we did want to see Hawaii.
The good: the food was pretty good. We were booked for anytime dining but only went to the MDR once. It took about 1.5 hours to have dinner there and for us that's okay once in a while. So we stuck to the buffet ...
This ship goes to fantastic Islands like no other! You will want to go back right away as soon as you leave them! The Cruise Director and staff on this cruise work very hard to make sure all the guests are well entertained. The food in the dining room is superb! The Captain and his team were detained in their journey when a passenger became deathly ill and after travelling a whole night on the ...
