NOT SUITABLE FOR NON SMOKERS
"I cannot recall being on a ship previously where smoking was allowed in a closed separate area." They have a section where smoking is permitted but the smoke permeates the entire casino and even drifts out to the Reception area...."Read More

NOT SUITABLE FOR NON SMOKERS

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Emerald Princess

This was my 15th cruise of the year but my first on Princess. The check-in process was farcical but most of the blame should be attributed to the U.S. Coastguard who picked the eve of Thanksgiving to inspect the ship. The day before the sailing I had received an email instructing me to be there by 12.30pm. Ridiculously late with the information. I rushed to arrive and got there at12.45. I ...

Great Crew, Good Food, Fun Games, Entertainment and Ports. Poor Embarkation and Unsafe Excursions.

Princess does a great job of selecting and training their staff to be friendly, knowledgeable and fun. We enjoyed the games, dining and entertainment. All six of us had fun playing bocci ball, golf, croquet, etc. The food selection was good and tasty. The Indian curry was a big plus. The comedy, dancing and singing were fun. We took at least one excursion at every port. We all enjoyed the ...

The bad and good from our perspective

This was Plan C in terms of our preferred destinations due to covid. We are a younger couple and have cruised in the past. The BAD: Cancelled/changed itineraries: including Colombia, and grand cayman and both replaced with bahamas. (Colombia was the reason we booked so we were sorely disappointed i do give props to princess for trying to fix the situation!) Cancelled our costa rica ...

A Bit Dissappointed

We choose this cruise because of its destinations. Panama Canal, Cartagena, Costa Rica, Grand Turk, Jamaica. I will applaud them for there covid enhancements, people wore their masks and everyone was respectful of this and of spacing. We were disappointed that the ship although clean and kept up it is a bit outdated. The activities were mediocre to boring. Understandably, with Covid ...

Just ok during COVID

This particular cruise was on my bucket list for a long time. I'm quite particular when it comes to cruising, because I think it can be a little too regimented for my taste, but going through the canal was something best experienced on a cruise ship. There are certain issues that come up with all travel that are simply not in control of Princess. In this circumstance, we were delayed boarding ...

We went on this cruise so that we could see the Panama Canal. Overall, I guess it was a good cruise. The captain and leadership staff was not nearly as informative of situations and concerns on the ship as in other cruises taken during Covid times. 4 hour delay from leaving Ft. Lauderdale (no reason provided or announcement made). 4 hour delay leaving Panama (no reason provided or announcement ...

Cruise was a replacement for 03/2020 cancellation. Some aspects were above average, some average and some poor. Condition of ship was poor considering in was refurbished. lots of rust, decks on lido in poor condition. Our refridge had to be repaired, electrical current coming through metal base on beside lamp and only water options in shower` were Hot and Hotter no cold water control and ...

The port of calls was the main reason we chose this cruise. The ship didn't end up going to Columbia as planned because it had to divert course since there was a medical emergency on board. We were good with that as if one of us needed emergency care we would want the same. The staff was so unbelievably friendly, so helpful. The crew really made this cruise, all of them were good, some were ...

We did a full transit in 2004 on the Coral Princess ,and wanted to see the NEW improved canal since the additional locks were added. Over all it was a great crossing and neat to see the new canal and gates. the crowd was older and more scooters on this cruise than on previous Princess cruises. The activities onboard were kind of lame and geared toward an older crowd , so a lot of trivia and ...

Third Princess Cruise, First on the Emerald

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Emerald Princess

The Emerald was in great shape. We had concerns after reading post dry-dock complaints. But we experiencd no issues. Our balcony cabin on Baja aft, was the quietest cabin we have experienced in 8 cruises! The new bed was great...more storage then in any other cabin in our cruise experience. Water, plumbing, A/C was all fine. Room steward Kim was excellent. The public spaces were all updated and ...
