We arrived at the Southampton terminal around 12:00 and were placed in a waiting area where free cakes and coffee was available we barely had time for a drink before we were rapidly booked in. Being familiar with Emerald Princess we quickly found our cabin and were soon ensconced in restaurant having lunch. In our cabin we found that all the bedding had been upgraded with lovely new mattresses and ...
We booked this cruise, our first Princess Cruise, mostly for its itinerary in Scandinavia, which interested us greatly. We weren't expecting a lot from the ship itself due to its negative reviews. However, we were pleasantly surprised!
To begin, the ship was stunning. The piazza is gorgeous, and the public areas and lounges were very well designed to host a large number of people, as we ...
We chose this Scandinavian cruise as it is a part of the world I have always wanted to visit, and Emerald Princess happened to be there. We visited Zeebrugge, Copenhagen and Oslo, and had a visit to Helsinborg in Sweden aborted due to bad weather. I had not heard much about Princess before, and I was nervous about travelling with an infant after reading articles on this site warning about what an ...
Note: this review is very much food focused!
Everything about this cruise to Scandinavia was fantastic. This was not our first cruise (NCL & RCCL) but our first on Princess.
Travelling with my elderly mum who has coeliac disease (needs a gluten free diet) we arrived at check in desks in Southampton approximately noon and we were on-board by 1pm. We went straight to our cabin something ...
Embarkation was very smooth and took less than 15 mins
As usual the cabin was spotless and our steward Edward was a total star. Very pleased the cruise director Kelvin Joy was still on the ship as he is a real gem with a wicked sense of humour. It's difficult not to enjoy the entertainment when he is involved and his team are also excellent.
We chose anytime dining and didn't have to wait ...
We chose this cruise because it included the North Cape of Norway, the northernmost tip of Europe and went to several ports we had not been to.
Embarkation was excellent as was disembarkation. Minimal waiting time to get on and our cabin was ready for us immediately. Our luggage arrived very quickly.
We enjoyed this cruise 100%. The staff and the ship were first rate and it feels like a very ...
We have done lots of travelling but never to Northern Europe. We have been to Scandinavia but not to some of the other ports. Since parts of Europe are getting more dangerous we decided to go while it was still reasonably safe. It was cool and rainy some days but the amazing tours and scenery made up for the weather. Would highly recommend this cruise. All the excursions we took were above ...
We were a party of two couples ages 66, we flew British Airways direct from LAX, First class so we would arrive fresh. Our luggage was lost by BA, very poor customer service, had us waiting 4 hours at the airport telling us that the luggage was there....it was found day 10 of our cruise. Princess Cruises was more than helpful, allowing free phone calls to British Airways, on several occasions, ...
First let me say we are elite on Princess and love the cruise line. We only wanted to be gone around a week and have an easy flight from New York and so we chose this cruise. Our two days in London were fabulous ( I wish we had more time) we took the Princess package with their reliable pick-up at the airport and a very nice clean modern business hotel The Pullman St. Pancreas with a fabulous ...
Embarkation - Busy but well handled. Food: In Horizon's, always good choice and quality generally very good. Serving areas looked too small but never really had an issue getting our food. Seating area obviously busy but, again, always got a seat. Usually had to share a table but great way to meet people. Da Vinci/Michaelangelo restaurants - Ate twice in Michaelangelo and service was slow but never ...
