Mini-Suite with Balcony (ME) Cabin Reviews

Enjoyed our cruise : Cabin D219
Sail Date: May 2019
Good space in mini-suite. New TVs nice but need to be on-demand. The sofa was disgusting and needs to be replaced. Mattress is too soft. Otherwise, all was fine. Good balcony space.

I expected it to be a little bigger but it was fine for 4 of us. The pull out sofa has 3 sitting sections but only 2 pull out to a bed. The cabin does have a pull down bunk which was nice. The bathroom was good size with the bathtub but shower curtain smelled of wet towels. The bed was comfortable and clean. The balcony light did not work and one of the nightstand drawers stuck. Not enough hangers for 4 people. My son said he did notice the rockiness of the ship being so close to the front of the ship. If you are prone to sea sickness I wouldn’t recommend. Our cabin steward was a little older so not as fun and friendly as many we’ve had on past cruises. I even asked where the towel animals were and he said they were only for children. We had 3 minisuites in a row that he took care of, one with an infant. She never received a towel animal. We finally got one the day after I mentioned it. For a mini suite, I expected a little better service. Read Less

We were on Dolphin deck in a mini-suite. We wanted the lowest balcony cabin we could find in case there was rough weather. We also welcomed the extra space the mini-suite provided on this long cruise. The room was ready when we arrived, but it was a hasty job due to the late disembarkation. We were missing several towels, as well as ship's laundry bags. Our previously-ordered bathrobes had not yet arrived. The last guests left a pair of women's underwear behind the sofa. The window was extremely dirty - my wife had to negotiate with the room steward to clean off a little dirt. The partitions of the verandah were stained with bird crap; for some reason, this was never cleaned off for the duration of the cruise. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The bathroom was clean and orderly, but a problem with the sink faucet meant we got hot water instead of cold. A Dolphin deck balcony on this ship means you are always out in the open. The verandahs above you are tiered, meaning everyone can look down on you. There always seemed to be a lingering odor from smokers - some other guest may have been smoking nearby, or we were picking up the exhaust vent from the crew smoking area forward of us. Read Less

We had a mini-suite, which gives a nice seating area and balcony. The bed is fantastic! It is comfortable with great linens. I wish they worried as much about the very uncomfortable towels. The Princess improved beds deserve lots of praise. The furniture was fine but has seen better days with a fair number of scratches etc. Although the balcony is not covered, we never felt exposed or looked down on. There are high walls between them. It did not bother us but there is a bit of rust outside. The bathroom is fine. There was a full tub/shower combination and plenty of counter and storage space. There is one electrical outlet in the bathroom. The balcony comfortably holds a table, two chairs and two footrests. There are two flatsceen TVs, which is funny as you have to learn to aim the remote so as not to turn on the wrong TV. (Harder than it sounds!) Internet access was ok in the room. It is a long walk to the laundromat but I think the aft rooms might have some engine noise. Our steward was prompt and did a good job. Read Less

Our mini suite was a good size for a family of 4. One double for mum and dad, one pullman/bunk that came down from the ceiling and a sofa bed that came out of the sofa. Only problem was the kids fighting over the beds so you have been warned that they are different! I had to bribe one $$ to sleep in the bunk. But I was prepared for that and she got her own holiday money to spend out of failing to get the sofa bed. We asked our stateroom attendant if he could put it back so we got the lounge space during the day. We had a coffee table, a full sized 3 seater sofa (that turned into the sofa bed at night) and an armchair. Nice amount of space for 4 of us. Winner! It was clean but there was an odd smell occasionally near the balcony for the first few days..I think maybe the carpet had gotten wet? I wasn't sure but the carpet could very easily get wet if someone leaves the door open as the balcony is completely uncovered. Not so great, but more because it's totally unusable even with a tiny bit of rain. Otherwise it was a great room, quiet spot and no noise from anywhere above or below. There was however some vibration at times but not for long. Well maintained by friendly room attendant. I don't think I could go in any other room but a mini suite if travelling as a family. Well worth the extra $$. Read Less
HBH Cruise to Fiji : Cabin D110

The cabin was good, we had expected a double size balcony as the brochure depicted, but it was only slightly deeper and the same width as a balcony cabin. We did have 2 foot stools not lay-beds.
