Baltic Cruise – 9th -23rd July 2016

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Emerald Princess

We chose this 14 day cruise for its itinerary as we had only every visited Bruges before. Never started a cruise from Southampton due to the difficulties of getting down from the North driving with a stopover was our best option to ensure we got to the ship on time. This proved to be a good choice as it took 7 hours to get within 2 hours away the next morning due to traffic. The check in at the ...

A Very Average Princess Cruise

Should you not read all this letter, you should read the last 4 paragraphs. We chose this cruise on Emerald Princess because we wanted to try a Baltic cruise and the date fitted in with our visit to England from our home in Tenerife. It was our first cruise with the Princess line and unfortunately will almost certainly be our last. We found that during the day while the ship was at sea the ...

North Cape

Enjoyable cruise, comfortable ship - the real star of the cruise was the Norwegian scenery, particularly the wild and remote North Cape, and the midnight sun. The ship's staff were superb, polite, helpful, doing everything they could. I had an inside cabin, fine, comfortable and quiet. Food was very good, and queues not long - with the exception of the slightly dysfunctional and badly managed ...

Northern Lights Cruise

my general feeling was it was an average cruise, nothing out of the ordinary. The ports were reasonably interesting but somehow the cruise was lacklustre. Food, entertainment was ok, me us in dining room were frankly boring and lacked flavour. Cruise ship tours were all overpriced and we did our own organisation, only did one ships tour to North Cape, no comentary, just a coach teip to North ...

My wife and I went on the Baltic Cruise with Princess in July 2015. I had mixed feelings about it. We had previously gone on the Alaska cruise with Princess and it was wonderful. The Baltic Cruise was a good way to get a sampling of Scandinavian countries. The stateroom was comfortable, the staff was very helpful and the food, although a bit institutional, was good. Princess also added some ...

Return to the Baltic, this time a Princess Cruise ship

Since we were in London in May of this year, we just flew in the day before the curise. We took a British Airways non stop from the West Coast of the U.S. and stayed overnight at the Sofitel Hotel at Terminal 5 Heathrow. This is a great hotel at the airport, easy for late night or early morning flights. Our journey to Southampton, was with a Princess transfer. We did have to take our cases to ...

Great Itinerary, so-so cruise

As others have said, we took this cruise for the itinerary. Since it was our first cruise, we did not know what to expect. I booked our extra nights before & after the cruise in Copenhagen through the Radisson's website. This cost half of what Princess would have charged so I don't know why anyone would book through them. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel. Princess was going to charge ...

Baltic Cruise on Emerald Princess (Berlin/Warnemunde)

The ports of call were Tallin (Estonia), St. Petersburg (Russia), Helsinki (Finland), Oslo (Norway), Stockholm (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark), Arhuus (Denmark). Most people choose to embark in Copenhagen but Princess allows passengers to embark in Warnemunde, which is the port for Berlin. Berlin is about 3 hours by train to Warnemunde. We bought our train tickets online at www. bahn.de and caught ...

What happened to Princess?

I am sailed 7 times in 10 years. I have sailed with Celebrity (a long time ago) and Royal (about 7 years ago). All other cruises have been with Princess. I always thought that Princess was a bit better in every way. While I do not know if other lines have improved or declined, I can say that Princess is declining. It seems like they are trying to save money and hoping we do not notice. Well, ...

Great Itinerary, Lowering Expectations

We picked the Emerald Princess primarily for the excellent Baltic itinerary. The ship itself is very similar to two other Princess ships we were on (the Sapphire and Star) and, like the others, a very attractive ship with good use made of the cabin space. Service has suffered as it seems they've cut back on dining staff, but overall was still reasonable and the food still some of the best we've ...
