OB - Ocean View Stateroom / Be careful

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on MSC Magnifica

Pros & Cons I was very disappointed with the stateroom. I choose Ocean View and I had Boat view. Just be careful when choosing ocean view and make sure that it doesn’t say “OB - Ocean View Stateroom”. This means there is obstruction, meaning an emergency boat right next to the window where you don’t see anything at all. I went to information to find out, and the the lie they said it was ...

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Magic

Let me start with saying I have taken cruises on Carnival before and this one was disappointing. Firstly the ship is aging and not gracefully. The carpet in our cabin was well worn and there was graffiti on bathroom counter. There was a constant light stench of sewage, mostly in the mornings. The design of the ship does not lend itself to ease of movement during peak hours especially on sea days. ...

Absolutely the worst vacation. No interaction with cruise director. No enforcing smoking rules. No enforcing the covering up while dining rule. Literally the most disgusting people onboard. Horrible, horrible experience. Complete waste of money. Disgusting people walking around naked. So much gluttony when it came to the food. I was mortified at how people would waste the food. The food was just ...

Mediocre at Best

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Liberty of the Seas

The food was mediocre at best. I was so disappointed with it that I actually went to the desk and asked for a meeting with the Exec Chef. I am Platinum in Carnival and NCL and I never had to go to the desk for an issue. Additionally the bed kept on poking me in the back for the first two nights so I finally said something to the room steward. Then he put some extra padding which helped. For Royal ...

Good, but not Great

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Liberty of the Seas

Just came home yesterday from a 10 day cruise aboard Liberty of the Seas. I would prefer to give a 3 and 1/2 star experience, but I selected 4 as it was closer to 4 starts than 3. This is a ship that while enjoyable, seemed very packed and not well planned out. Windjammer, so poorly architected. So many choke points while trying to get your food and then such a lack of tables. Items ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on MSC Magnifica

I just started going on MSC cruises a couple years ago and my first cruise was absolutely fantastic! I was hoping this ship would be just as good but it fell incredibly short. The service and experience on each ship differs MASSIVELY so be aware. We were lied to by the booking agent about the type of room we were getting which we didn’t find out until we were on board. Let me start out by ...

Surprisingly great time on the MSC Magnifica!

This was our 8th MSC cruise, and based on past experiences, we had rather low expectations for the Magnifica. However, we were very pleasantly surprised, and thought this was our best MSC cruise ever. MSC has listened to the complaints and changed the muster drill to be similar to that of Royal Caribbean. They have also hired an American Cruise Director, and overall have tried very hard to ...

Do You Believe In Magic?

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Magic

Background: We’re a couple in our early 50’s who have cruised over a dozen times in the past 30 years, mostly on Carnival. We had three less-than-stellar cruises in a row (Carnival in 2019, Royal Caribbean in 2021, and MSC in 2022). We thought maybe we had just “outgrown” cruising and should do more land vacations instead. But when we started planning a vacation for this summer, airline prices ...

One of the best vacations experienced

The ship is beautifully designed and decorated, and well maintained. Looking forward to sail more on voyager and freedom class ships from New York area. We do not like mega ships like Oasis, where you have to book nearly every show 2-3 months in advance. We didn't find the cruise director Mey funny. She was just okay. Her helpers who hosted some of late night games were all excellent. The ...
