We arrived in Dbn via the airport and used the transfer busses which was excellently organised. We did not explore Dbn prior to our cruise as we had a direct flight from Jhb to Dbn the morning of embarkation. EMBARKATION: When we arrived at the harbour it was absolute chaos, it seemed like majority of the passengers had been waiting in line for hours due to a system problem with home affairs? We had to wait in the lines for about 2 hours without anything to drink (because you are not allowed to take anything onboard the ship). We had two toddlers, a pregnant lady and a pensioner in our group and the long wait in the extreme heat (even inside the building) was torture. We really feel that MSC should warn people about the possibility of delays at the harbour and advise people to bring something to drink/eat for incase. There is no where to sit but the floor and there was a lot of elderly and disabled people who really struggled. THE SHIP: The ship is beautiful and maintained very well. Some advice on the pool area, arrive very early to get a seat in the shade otherwise you are stuck in the sun - and with kids one cannot sit in the sun for hours without any shade. The pool is salt / ocean water - my little daughter cried about her eyes burning so take swim goggles for incase. Take some US Dollars in cash to gamble in the casino - it was just peace of mind to rather spend cash instead of charging it against the room and stressing that one might overspend. Buy a prepaid photo package - the photo's are very expensive almost $20 per photo. Also buy drinks/ice cream packages it's worth it. THE CABIN: We stayed in a balcony cabin, which was beautiful and very spacious. With a double sleeper couch. One of the kids was supposed to share a room with Granny and Grandpa however it was so spacious that both kids slept with us in the room. Lots of cupboard space as well - bathroom and shower was really not that small. I was stressing about showering two toddlers every day however it was a piece of cake, they eventually started showering alone and could open the tap by themselves. DINING: We loved the buffet/cafeteria dining for breakfast and lunch, the french fries was amazing so fresh and yummy. Fresh fruit, lots of different desserts, cold meats and cheeses, pizza, anything you can think of. And in the afternoon I loved the freshly baked biscuits with a cup of tea. For dinner we preferred the Restaurant option, we just loved the starters, mains and desserts (the baked Alaska is a must) for 11 nights. The quality was really good (lobster, prawns, steaks, pasta's, ravioli, risotto, fish), and it was exciting not knowing what to expect. The kids also loved it (the even had soup for starters and loved it, and they loved the jelly desert). There was about 6 options for every course sometimes more. ENTERTAINMENT & ACTIVITIES: Entertainment at the pool was so much fun, they really kept us entertained everyday. The shows in the Teatro at night was excellent and worth it! SERVICE: was very good, no complaints. Medrano & Edward was our waiters at L'Oleandro Restaurant, always friendly and lovely to be served by them every night. Lee serviced our room, and we loved his friendliness every day. PORTS & SHORE EXCURSIONS: not very good, it was peak season and the public areas was over crowded. It was more fun to take a taxi and rather go to a beach that wasn't that crowded however the beaches was beautiful the water was crystal clear and warm, kids loved swimming in the tropical ocean. Out of the three days in Mauritius we booked two excursions via MSC and the other day paid a taxi driver to take us to Grand Baie which was more fun. However that's our opinion, even in Reunion we would've preferred to take the shuttle which we didn't know about until the day we stepped off the boat in Reunion. In Mauritius they gave each person a bottle of water prior to the excursion every time you booked an excursion via MSC. So we expected the same in Reunion and therefore left the ship without anything to drink, they didn't give us anything and it was extremely hot. Only about two hours later we could buy something to drink at a market where we could swipe our card, as we didn't take Euro's for only one day in Reunion. However it was an experience we will never forget. DISEMBARKATION: On the day of disembarkation everything was behind schedule (leaving the ship and arrival of the busses) and when we finally stepped off the ship we had to fetch our suitcases (6 big suitcases and 6 hand luggage bags) no trollies available, we had to drag / push our luggage (we where a group of 6 people: 2 elderly people, 2 toddlers {aged 3 and 5}, 1 pregnant lady and 1 man). We had to stand in an extremely long line with hundreds/if not a thousand of other passengers in the heat for 2 hours more or less to wait for our bus. It was really ridiculous, once again with elderly people, disabled people, children etc. Again without any drinking water because one wouldn't expect a second disaster after embarkation was such a mess. Luckily there was a vendor selling coldrinks and chips, and luckily we had cash to buy the kids something to eat and drink. Furthermore we missed our 11h30 flight, only arrived at the airport at 12h10 and had to pay R400 per person extra in order to move our flights (R2500 in total-what if we couldnt afford it???). We sat at the airport until 17h35 waiting for our flight which was delayed twice, once again really frustrating and unfair. MSC should warn their passengers to arrange flights after 14h00 for incase there's delays like we had with disembarking. KIDS & CRUISING: the kids loved it, they keep asking when are we going on the big boat again. However we will wait for one of the newer cruise ships to grace our shores. Those have beautiful waterparks for the little ones. Even the Sinfonia or Opera have, I think the kids will love that. The balustrades are really high and safe for kids in the balcony suites and most areas of the ship. In some areas of the this ship it's a bit more dangerous where theres only a steel balustrade however we watched the kids very closely. FUTURE CRUISING: yes, we will do it again...however i think a cruise to nowhere is a better option. It's like living in a hotel for 11 days, eating, drinking, relaxing, gambling, being entertained day after day. What a pleasure. Visiting an island for one day even three days is not worth it...I will rather fly to Mauritius / Reunion and spend a week to explore the island properly. However we still enjoyed it. If MSC could just sort out the embarking and disembarking it will make a huge difference in the experience. Or maybe we just had bad luck? Thank you for a wonderful New Years Cruise - 27 Dec 2018 to 7 Jan 2019 Read Less

Our cruise was an amazing ! We loved every precious moment of our time. We utilised the Easy board option which is a BLESSING! Quick and fuss free. I cannot understand why people do not opt for this option! We were able to enjoy the festivities on Deck 13 , within minutes of collecting our pre- paid packages(effortless the method of collection) and dropping off items in our cabin. One actually feels like Royalty when you breeze past all the waiting people and embark. The cabin was clean , well ventilated when we arrived , considering the suffocating humidity outside. Our dining was absolutely the BEST! Oh MY WORD! Don't get me started........ I am sure we were assigned the CREME de la CREME of available staff in the dining room. ROMEO CHUA and VIKRAM SINGH , have to be the MOST AMAZING young gentlemen who we have EVER had the pleasure of meeting on our cruises. I actually had a tear in my eye the night we bid them farewell! ( not even joking) They were so interactive , humorous and exceptionally efficient. They are most definately an asset to MSC. The menu was delicious , I was never disappointed. We only enjoy sitting in the dining room , entire experience is just ideal for us. General service was great , staff were friendly and efficient in all areas of the boat. I loved the shows on this cruise more than the Mediteranean cruise. It was Spectacular! The talent of performers , WOW! unbelievable. It was a mixture of wonderful displays of telent. We have a daughter of 16 , she had the time of her life.! Connected with similar aged kids and had a blast until the very last moment of the cruise. Many tears were shed that morning when the Good byes were done. They had spent the entire cruise together from the moment of embarking! I cannot wait for my next cruise , for me personally.........CRUISING is the ONLY way to ENJOY a great holiday!!!! Read Less

This was my 3rd holiday upon the MSC. Being from Durban, I knew the city well and getting to port was easy. The embarkation process left much to be desired though as queues were long and stagnant for hours. However, once aboard, our holiday started in grand style. The ocean view cabin was quite spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids. The closet had enough space to unpack. We explored the beautiful ship, and were impressed with its design. The restaurants offered a good variety to please most tastebuds and the themed evenings made it memorable as well. The buffet allowed the kids access the pizza and burgers and a whole lot more for most of the day. The burgers were unfortunately not amazing. We took advantage of the many bars available to indulge in some cocktails. I must be honest, there was no consistency in the preparation of the cocktails and perhaps more training is needed I this area. However, this did not dilute the relaxation or experience for me in any way. The nightly entertainment an the theatre was world class. We were awed every time. The entertainment team were also very impressive. Most nights, there were deck parties which were fun. The lounges also had very talented musicians and live music was found at each one. There was some repetition regarding these sets, but it was still enjoyable. The music was mostly mellow and complimented a glass of wine well. The kids were also considered by MSC and they catered for them well. My kids, however, did find it a bit overcrowded and felt that there was a bit less for their age group (9 years old) to do. They used the option of going when they felt like. The family disco was disappointing. The concept is great and many parents looked forward to having this earlier party with the kids. The entertainment grew should look into this and perhaps plan a party that caters for families. Once we arrived at Mauritius, we had the option of booking tours or exploring the island on our own. This flexibility was great as we were able to plan our days according to our own schedule. Things were very organised at these ports there was minimal hassle getting on and off the ship. As always, the crew and all the service providers, were fantastic, friendly and willing to assist. My overall experience on this cruise was overwhelmingly positive. In my opinion, it is one of the best ways to travel with kids. We ha e already started contemplating our next vacay and MSC is on top of the list. Read Less

The people was good. Nice meeting people from different countries. The organizing of the excursion was done well. The meet and greet of the Captain was lovely. The view from the Ship was tops. My wife loved the shopping on the Ship and she did buy a lot of staff's. The advice from the staff that was given to save money on the Ship was nice. What we enjoyed was that the kids was save and they could go on they own and come back to meet the parents. Plus the kid's club was well run with passion.. The shows was the best . The end of the trip was the worst part as we became family on the Ship for 11 days and it had to come to an end. I will be going again . Read Less

After a very sad and upsetting year, tragically losing my husband, I took our two daughters on this getaway to islands we had only ever heard about and dreamed about. We were beyond excited but the whole experience completely surpassed our expectations. The ship was so much more than we had pictured and the idea that such a magnificent artwork, with so many guests and staff, could sail so effortlessly was overwhelming. We loved the evening productions and our daughters, Jos 20 and Simone19, were caught up in the pool deck activities with such enthusiasm. Our island outings have left us with such wonderful memories and experiences. We did the private island, beach and scenic drive to the 7 soils. Each day we were so impressed by our tour guides and the smoothness of the outing. Our island meals were a great way to experience the local culture and cooking -really enjoyed all of them. We met some wonderful people on the ship and we are hoping to keep up with those friendships. Starting the new year with all of the above has revived us and we appreciate and celebrate our new beginning, thank you MSC Musica for giving us the holiday of a lifetime. Read Less

I could have pizza whenever I wanted. Buffet breakfast and lunch were phenomenal and sit down supper in the evenings added a touch of class. There were amazing shows every single night. By far one of the best experiences of my life. Thank you MSc Musica. Embarkation and disembarkation ran extremely smoothly. The ship itself is beautiful in every way. The service we received from the crew was refreshingly friendly and helpful. The cabins were very comfortable and made the stay enjoyable. There's so much to do you'll struggle to do it all. We explored Mauritius and Réunion. It is something I will never forget. I cannot wait for my next cruise! I would definitely go again. Read Less

The ship was lovely, and beautiful decorated , althoug it took a bit of time to get use to the layout of the ship, could get confusing at some times. We absolutely enjoyed the cruise, the 5 star treatment and just relaxing at the thermal spa. Hubby and I traveled with our 2 children. Lots of activities planned for each day @sea and lots of food. The entertainment in each of the lounges were really good. Faisal (from Indonesia), made our day even better each time we stepped into the Oleandro restaurant - ensuring that we always felt welcome. He also took an extra step to keep the kids entertained with his napkin origami and paper origami. Great hospitality and service, thank you Faisal and the family hopes to see you soon. Even in Mauritius it felt so good to come back "home" to the ship to a hot shower and knowing that someone was waiting in the restaurant with a hot meal (including dessert :-) every night The Teatro shows were excellent and we looked forward to having supper in the 1st seating and then going to every night to theatre @9pm. A favorite was for some freshly made delicious Italian pizza on deck 13 after the show. Lots of fun and great memories! from the Iyers Read Less

I also told my family and friends about the live activities taking place in the theater and lounges eg live performances.MSC promotes bonding between family, friends and I saw myself at the disco which is not happening here at home due to children. We selected this 11 night cruise on the Musica as it was to celebrate my 50th Birthday with my husband, 2 children , one girlfriend, my mom and my husbands mom and I wanted to make it special for everyone and go were none of us had been before so I chose the Mauritius cruise for the 7 of us. Easy in Board is amazing, it helped with the moms and kept us all sane at the same time-the process was pain free and heat free. We recommend this to all our friends if they are going to take a cruise. Embarkment and disembarkment was perfect, staff assisted everyone and as far as I could tell there were no problems. The Musica is stunning to say the least, the decor is out of this world. We all 7 had balcony cabins which is wonderful as it helps if you need some space to yourself and don't want to be cramped in a small room. Sitting on the balcony watching the waves and seeing the new places from our suite we visited was wonderful. We could leave the door open at night with no fear of an intruder coming through the door. The balcony suite was perfect, 3 of us stayed in the one unit and we had 2 other balcony units for the rest of our group. They all loved it and appreciated the wonderful holiday that they were given. The photos are priceless and many memories made. We had one stipulation in our group and that was to eat dinner in the dining room every night together. Our waiter was amazing and grew a special bond with our 17 year old son - it was amazing to see our son eat so many different types of food and take the waiters opinion very seriously when ordering his meals.A huge level of respect grew between them. Our water with the drinks and breads was equally as professional and after a few days he knew exactly who ate or drank what and was ready for the order every night. We all did different activities and enjoyed the variety of entertainment. There was something for everyone. I personally loved the Tucano Lounge musicians, they were my favourite, I could not wait for every night to go and watch them. Each member of our group enjoyed various entertainment and activities and no-body was left unhappy as there was something for everyone. Some did shows, when others played Bingo, then some enjoyed the Casino, some enjoyed the Piano music and the list goes on and on. The service was great, any problems were resolved immediately and all staff were curtious and respectful. Some of our group went on the Catamaran excursion and that was absolutely amazing, watching my son swim in the middle of the sea without a care, watching the old foggies enjoying themselves. Wonderful staff and amazing excursion, we had a wonderful day of sun, sea, food, good company and rum. Our older son and his girlfriend did other excursions which they also loved, the photos show how much they enjoyed themselves. The excursions are managed well and you feel safe and comfortable all the time.To be honest I preferred Reunion to Mauritius. My husband and I loved the trip, this was our second cruise and we would love to do another one in the next couple of years. Our 17 year old experienced something very different to the keyboard and computer he is used to at home. Spending time in the jacussi, to the swimming pool, shows , gym and so on and so on. He loved the trip, seeing him laugh and enjoying himself and spending time with his brother was priceless. The 2 moms had an amazing trip, they enjoyed spending time with their family and the boat had so many different things for them to do to keep them busy. Our older son and his girlfriend enjoyed every minute of the trip. We would love to do another trip, we feel that these types of cruises are financially good as you can plan what you want to spend before hand. They also take you all over the world and we would like to do the Mediteranean next. I was unable to add my photos to the review. Read Less

We have selected the cruise going to Mauritius and Reunion because we have never been there and believed we would score to see them both in one shot. The value for money and the experience worth it every cent. The clean cabins, spotless common areas and facilities made the voyage pleasant. The variety of foods and drinks was on a top level. Very helpful staff and prompt response from the crew made everything easy for us. We saw not only the natural beauty of the islands but got close feeling of the history and culture of those places. I would recommend this trip to everyone who has a traveler spirit and adventure hunger for something different. Our children enjoyed the ship activities. The only note is that if you have a bigger family (more then 2 children) you will have a problem and won't be able to book the trip cause the cruise does not cater for more then 2 children in a cabin. We were lucky that the grandparents were with us hence shared their cabin reservation with our third boy. Well this is a problem for future trip planner because we won't be able to take other family members or friends with us. I need to say however that the room was more then big enough to accommodate us all as the double bed was / is like a king size bed. Additional day at Reunion is a must - this was the only disappointment for us. The island deserve at least two days and hope the management will consider this for the future. Read Less

The Ship -Musica was absolutely stunning, the rooms felt a bit bigger and the decor was amazing. The lounges and theater just too beautiful. I just loved walking around and admiring the ship inside. The reception has a water fountain and a piano which is extremely relaxing & calming. (despite kids running around) Dining- A la carte dinners were not to be missed not once except for the day in Mauritius where we only got back to the ship at mid night! (Yes the ship is open 24/7 for you to come and go as you pls) Then we got pizza's from deck 13 buffet restaurant as they cook pizza constantly throughout the day and night. Loved Breakfast time too such a huge variety to choose from. Entertainment - Great, shows were great (the ones we went to at least) Loved some of the duos that sang in the evening, just wished they mixed the songs up as we began hearing the same songs being sung every night. There were fun games in the Crystal lounge later in the eve after dinner which included battle of the sexes and other similar games bringing guests up to the stage; which is always a good laugh. Deck parties were awesome and there should have been more of them for sure. Disco was just a huge disappointment, way tooo many kids running around there. It opens at 11pm why there were still kids around at 1am i don't know, parents just leaving their kids to do whatever they like.... And they say its a family cruise! I believe whether its a family cruise or not there should be rules as there is underage drinking and more going on in the disco area. The deck games were always so fun and entertaining. We loved our designated service staff Adi (Indonesian) & Jorge (Cuban) they were just the best and knew what we wanted to drink and had it ready for us. Melvin from Cigar bar also knew his daily visitors to his bar knew what they drank and didn't need to show room cards as he knew the number already. Mauritius was amazing we went to Ile Aux cerf day 1 with a group of friends we had met on the ship, Hubby played golf on day 2 and went to The Heritage Hotel for the day (beautiful) and the last day Blue Bay which is an amazing place to snorkel as its water estuary as has so much coral and fish and reunion looked beautiful but we decided to stay on board (nothing against Reunion) weather was cloudy and wouldn't have had a great view of volcano or such. My children cant stop talking on how they enjoyed the trip. The food was fantastic. The entertainment was awesome. This was a lifetime experience I will never forget! Will definitely cruise again.... The Ship is beautiful and very well maintained. The cabin are neat and big enough. The food is fantastic and enough - you can eat the whole day! The service is out of this world. everyone enjoyed the activities and created an awesome spirit amongst quests. I like the idea of having a gym for those who are fitness fanatics and those who would like to keep their bodies in shape due to all the lovely food and treats available 24/7. The only painful experience was the embarkation which took hours, however, I am aware that this is the responsibility of Home Affairs SA. Suggestions on how to increase the awesomeness of the Ship: Have a big clock at the swimming pool deck in order for quest to take note of the time and not miss out on the 1st seating dinner or the 19:00 show. Most quest don't take their watches/cellphones to the deck area. Have a bit of wastebins on the swimming deck area to assist with the discard of papers etc. Have some treats for the kids in the form of partypacks (i.e. small party packs with sweats, chocolates, lollies and chips). Kids get a craving for these. Read Less

The breakfast buffet was a bit hectic being December time and the amount of guests so the lines were long and we struggled to find seating so our food was cold. The sit down meals for dinner though were good I really enjoyed the meals . The shuttle services to and from the Islands were fast and effective. Our cabin room with the balcony was spacious and clean, we were very impressed with the housekeeping staff. They were always friendly in the passage ways and we never put any of our goods in the safe and nothing was stolen. Another highlight was the theater performances and the entertainment staff. i have always wished to go on msc cruise not a specific one, last December 2018 my family and cousins decided to give it a try,we were 24 in total, it was a breathtaking experience, the ship is clean and beautiful, the staff is amazing, the entertainment is galore!! you can never be bored, i loved the shore excursions as well as it makes the cruising exciting. The food is available 24/7 you cant complain. The only setback is non availability of FREE WIFI, its very costly buying and using wifi, the ship should consider offering atleast free wifi as this would also market them, our children mostly were so frustrated having to buy wifi as it was our only source of communication(as we were in a foreign land) with our relatives and friends out there, also communicating amongst ourselves wanting to know where others are seated if they arent in their cabins. The ship should also take emergency drill seriously, we all gathered in the room we were summoned to but i did not hear or see any demonstration, i just copied people standing close to me by tying floating jacket and then i saw people exiting the room then suspected the drill is over. My suggestion is gather people in the room, have a p.a system so everyone can hear the demonstrator, have a demonstrator on top of the desk for all to see. Also have life jackets all over the ship not just in cabins. Read Less

I was very happy with my cabin, it was spacious and accommodated the three of us comfortably. The restaurants entertainment, and shows exceeded my expectations. We had a ball of a time participating in the activities planned. Loved the treasure hunt. It might not be a bad idea to announce the up coming activities, not to miss out on anything. The photos taken are good but very overpriced. Please consider affordable packages. The highlight of the cruise for me was the all day pizzas. I loved it❤️ Too many people for the pools and jacuzzis, my 11 year old niece didn’t have a change to go into the jacuzzi. The crew members were extremely friendly at all times. Thank you for that. I will definitely go again on a cruise, next time a little bit longer. Best family holiday ever. Read Less

We chose to cruise on the MSC because firstly, we have done it before and have always had a great time and secondly this was our first trip with children and we knew that there were lots of activities to keep both us and our kids entertained and busy. We also liked the fact that the itinerary allowed us to stop at three different destinations. We found the islands well-organised, although busy. The days on the beach were incredibly relaxing and we were lucky enough to get off at all our destinations. We thoroughly enjoyed the endless choices regarding food throughout our stay and found that the dining rooms and buffets were well-run with excellent service, both day and night. Partana Putra was our waiter and he was absolutely fantastic! The entertainment on board was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed the theatre every evening. Our room was always in impeccable condition when we returned after a busy day and made us feel well looked after. I have to touch on two things that need attention. Firstly, although the children's were well-oragnised and the staff friendly, I could not understand why the 7-11 club was never open. Every time I took my children I was redirected to the 3-6 playroom. It was very crowded and every time we went to check in our kids there was a queue that was not well-managed. I don't understand why there are rooms for different ages and yet no separate programs. On one occasion I took my kids in the evening and there was a programme in the 7-11 room but it was so chaotic and loud that none of my kids would stay. The rooms are rather tiny and it would be nice if the evening activities were less energetic and gave those kids who want a quieter space to chill out and do more calming activities. Secondly, I would just like to say that although the disembarkation procedure was very efficient onboard, but the minute we left the ship there seemed to be chaos and disorder. Many of our fellow cruisers sent their children to push ahead so when we got to passport control, the adults would come from the back and jump ahead of 70+ people. There were no MSC staff or harbour staff overseeing this and it was very disappointing. There was a huge fight that happened between two people and it was a very sour end to a wonderful holiday. This is a great holiday with excellent food, entertainment and general good service all-round. Read Less

Firstly we want to thank MSC for a fantastic cruse to the Portuguese Islands. The easy on-board to us is the best way to board. The hosting, the entertainment, the movement of passengers from the boat to the island and back was done in a orderly manner, the time on the island was made very pleasant, the staff on board of the boat was most helpful at all times, the entertainment director and his staff including the cast that performed was very good as they included the children as well. The food on the boat is the best quality you can find and the overhaul experience was fantastic, will see you soon. There is some staff members that stud out for us, as they treated us in a very high standard and respect and all ways friendly and they are ( Francesco Verdolia “Dining Services” from Italy we feel is a asset to MSC ) , ( Irjana Bacia “Bar Services” I am not sure of the spelling ), ( I Putu Bagus Ari Winanda “Asst Waiter” from Indonesia ), ( Pasquale Aversa “Headwaiter” Italy ). A few points to take note of: 1. If MSC can negotiate cheaper excursions for e.g.: just to go to Maputo was R263 per person ad for a family of 4 is +/- $80 and you have not even bought any thing yet. 2. If MSC can let the passengers use South African RANDS when in South African waters. 3. The Pomene island experience, as it gets very hot on the island and the sand gets very hot it burns your feet, passengers must be made aware of this in order to ware the correct footwear. Read Less

We did the Mozambique, Portuguese Islands and Pomene cruise on board the MSC Musica. Having cruised with MSC before, I was familiar with what MSC had to offer, yet they managed to exceed every expectation. As always, their service, food and entertainment were outstanding. Embarkation went smooth, but I was thoroughly impressed with the manner in which the crew facilitated the tender disembarking procedures at the islands. Same was swift and well-organized. The Musica is a huge upgrade in comparison to the Sinfonia. Despite the ship carrying more passengers, it never felt crowded (the cruise was fully booked). The great number of lounges and bars provide for a unique experience especially with the live musicians. It is also noticeable that the Musica is a "newer" and "fancier" ship which offers more luxury than the Sinfonia. Dining was excellent, especially the buffet-style dining. The crew ensured that same remained "topped up", hence there was always a sufficient supply of all the dishes. There was a good variety of dishes as well. A further plus point is the bars situated in the restaurants. One could easily order a variety of drinks whilst dining which was really nice as it did not limit you to the complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juice normally served in the buffet restaurants. Service was topnotch and very professional. The crew went out of their way to assist. Same goes for the entertainment - very good! The Portugese Islands and Pomene were nice and there were more than enough excursions to keep one busy the whole day. What was particularly pleasing was the fact that one was able to use the on-board drink packages on the islands. Drink packages are a definite must have for any cruise. The only point of critique relates to the manner in which the emergency drill was done. We had to (disorderly) ensemble in the lounges where the crew showed us how to put on a life jacket. Thereafter we were instructed to watch a safety video in the cabins. This all happened whilst the ship began to depart, resulting in us partially missing the departure. The manner in which the emergency drill was done on the Sinfonia is preferred: put on life jacket, ensemble at the muster stations in an organized manner, crew shows what to do in an emergency and thereafter the ship would depart). In essence, the cruise was money well spent! MSC Musica is a must! If you miss it, make sure to catch the MSC Orchestra in 2019/2020. My next cruise is already booked. Read Less

This was a lifetime experience for my family. The embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly without any challenges. The food was delicious and it felt like the food was available 24/7. The waiters and waitresses were super friendly. We still miss the food. The entire staff was friendly and very helpful. Our cabin was neat and tidy. The interior of the ship is extremely beautiful. It was an awesome overall experience for us. The only setback is the price of the photos is expensive on board, though i bought pre paid package of 10 it was not enough. I would advise people to include a pre paid package of 100 pictures with their booking. Sea sickness was a bit of a challenge for hubby and the kids, but nothing the tablets could not take care of. The kids liked the food and the pool a lot. We also enjoyed ice cream. Personally i really enjoyed myself and would do it again. Eating breakfast by the sea view was my favorite and i enjoyed the entertainment and the activities. My hubby enjoyed going off shore to portugiuse island it was a lifetime experience for him. It was worth the price for my family and would most definetly do it again. Read Less

First time experience. Organised by family member and all family members went on this cruise including grand children. 3 nights cruise is perfect, any cruise longer can get a bit boring. Service was perfect, lots of food and entertainment. Various people from various races were on the cruise and it felt as one big rainbow nation. Cabins were well maintained 5 star. My highlight was the trip to the Portugese Islands by boats. It was a good days experience and was thoroughly enjoyed.. Keep up the good work and service.! Keep up the good work ! Great experience. Must definitely will share my experience to all my friends, families and colleagues. Cruises to other areas will be great. I really feel that the cruise was value for money. I think that specials are offered during the course of the year and I will take advantage of same. Food and service was great. Read Less
