We chose the cruise because of its destinations ( Middle East, Suez and Italy). We were a bit concerned of the many seadays and overall choosing an italian cruiseline.
We had a cabin with balcony, deck 5 "Fantastica". Nice with good bed and pillows.Could have used more electrical outlets.
The ship is huge. That means you've got to walk a lot. Interior decoration is modern and tasteful.

Booked cruise to come through the Suez which did not disappoint however on landing from flight from UK we were taken to a hotel for breakfast as we were told we cannot board ship til lunchtime. There were 1400 passengers boarding in Dubai!! We choose this cruise for its itinerary and a very competiive price. We have 21 cruises behind us and this was our third with Costa so we knew what could be expected and not. Embarkation in Dubai after 6 pm was very swift, no doubt helped by the fact that many passengers had already boarded the day before in Abu Dhabi.

Chose this cruise for the ports and weather. The ship and facilities were disappointing. Lack of stock in shops. Entertainment when at dinner and over by 10pm. Geared to asian clientele. Firstly I know this ship has just gone in for a six week refurbishment. That being said having cruised with Royal many times ( Diamond Plus) I found myself constantly defending their policy’s but I can’t defend the indefensible. When will they stop this nickel and dime policy, over priced tours ,menus unchanged in years,shows that boarder on children’s party level.

Part of a holiday which visited Golden Triangle in India before joining QM2 back to Southampton. First time on this ship. Last Cunard cruise was QE2 just before it went out of service.
The cabin was well laid out but I did not want a sheltered balcony which is like a metal box cut in the hull with no view if you are sitting down.

We chose this cruise to experience the Suez Canal and for that the cruise was very successful. How did I rate the cruise overall - average I suppose?
