Chose this cruise for the ports and weather. The ship and facilities were disappointing. Lack of stock in shops. Entertainment when at dinner and over by 10pm. Geared to asian clientele. Food only average. Mashed potato with everything not fine dining. Dirty areas round pool and in theatre. Ship tired and going for refurb. Overpriced tours. Insect bites. We paid a lot and not value for money. ...
We chose this cruise to see this part of the world but while the ports were worth a visit the organised trips with RC were grossly over priced !!!!!
Vision of the Sea is tired but the main crib is with the greed of RC like other reviews i found the amount of times we had to say no to photographs is out of order.
After getting to our room i went for a shower only to find that there was no ...
This was our 1st cruise with Royal Caribbean having previously traveled with most of the other major cruise lines. In general we were somewhat disappointed with the cruise and particularly the on board service and the lack of entertainment options during the day. Also as a person who has enjoyed craft activities on other cruises it was disappointing that participating in this activity incurred a ...
11 night cruise Dubai to Singapore.
Stayed 3 nights in Dubai at the Intercontinental Festival city pre cruise which I would highly recommend. Embarkation at the Dubai terminal seemed a crazy mixup of disorganised chaos, however I can honestly say that it all worked fine for us. I have a mobility issue & the staff checked me in quickly & I was on board the ship within about a half hour. I did ...
Myself, recently retired and my wife nearing retirement,we finally embarked on our first cruise holiday. The first mistake was not checking out on visa requirements, regulations an costs which our travel agent nor the cruise company informed us about apart from saying it is our responsibility. Despite our far and wide air travel experience,we discovered the hard way,India is very different, true to ...
Apologies this is a rather lengthy review but I feel it is needed! We have just returned from a 17 night holiday dubai to singapore - 2 nights in dubai 11 nights on the mariner and 2 nights singapore . good flight to dubai and a wonderful stay including high tea in the skyview bar Burj Al Arab amazing! then to the ship ! having cruised 9 times before but never with RCI I guess our expectations ...
We travelled to Dubai on 13/05/12 and spent 2 nights in the Hyatt Regency (separate review on Trip Advisor).
Set sail from Dubai on 15/05/12, going to Goa, Cochin, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Spent 3 nights in Singapore in the Marina Mandarin (again separate review on Trip Advisor).
Boarding - was a nightmare, seemed very disorganised and a few people passed out due to the heat. As we ...
We had 5 days in Dubai before we sailed and this is truly an amazing city. Loved the old city and marvelled at the buildings in the new part. One day was spent in Abu Dhabi and that too is another city I will never forget. The Grand Mosque should not be missed. 1 night spent at the Burj Al Arab where we were totally spoilt and I can now say "I have stayed there" when I see it on TV.
The ...
The ship was on it's way to Singapore and then to be a gambling ship traveling around the Asia Pacific region from what we heard. Crew had a lot of Chinese staff who were in general well trained and friendly. In my opinion the Cruise Director Gordon was annoying, and we went to few events where he was.
The cabin was a nice suite but underneath the pool deck, so you would hear chairs and tables ...
About us: A couple with children (that were left at home with my parents) travelling on our first trip together post being married all those years ago, and celebrating my husbands 40th Birthday.
Boarding: We didn't have any issues at all with boarding, and heard loads of horror stories about other peoples experiences. We arrived at the terminal early, as I had emailed RCI earlier as initially I ...
