We chose this cruise because we wanted to go to Petra and the Dead Sea.
However, from the minute we were picked up from the airport in Dubai, things went horribly wrong.

We boarded the ship in Dubai, to Barcelona, having originally booked to stay on her to Miami, until a change of dry dock was made.
Prior to boarding, we stayed a few days in Dubai, & had such a lovely experience in our hotel, that at we wondered if the ship would be a disappointment. How wrong could we be !

Firstly I know this ship has just gone in for a six week refurbishment. That being said having cruised with Royal many times ( Diamond Plus) I found myself constantly defending their policy’s but I can’t defend the indefensible. When will they stop this nickel and dime policy, over priced tours ,menus unchanged in years,shows that boarder on children’s party level.

Cruised from Dubai to Southampton from the 19th.April-10th. May ----had a sheltered stateroom -4021-which our steward , Dayle , kept immaculate , there wasn't anything that was too much trouble for him even supplying us with fresh milk daily rather than using sachets of milk. By far the worst cruise we have been on.Dubai to Yokohama
Have done over 20 .cruises
Cabin never cleaned properly.The frill round the bed was all ripped and hanging off.The settee was broken and to be taken away and repaired.This was before the cruise started
The balcony door frame collapsed and had to be repaired on 4 occasions.

The review made earlier on the exact cruise is spot on, its as if the person has taken the words out of my mouth. We chose the cruise because of a once in a lifetime ports of call. Recent cruise april 2018 from dubai to yokohama saw the reception desk overrun each day with complaints. Poor food adolescent daytime activities.poor nightime shows.bad tv.pool accident resulting in death took medical staff far too long to attend. Untrained staff. Food in nightime dining hours old. We recently went on the above cruise during the month of April 2018. I would like to make a few comments about what we found good and what we found not so good on the cruise.

Embarking in Dubai took about 10 minutes to get out of the taxi and onto the ship. Destination Japan and the languages announced on board has gone from 6 to 8 and now include Japanese and Chinese (not a problem for me) The ship is lovely with lots of bars and quiet areas to sit.
