Overall this was a positive cruising experience. This was my second time sailing on Disney Wonder, it does not look like a 20+ year old ship, the staff keep her up very well!
Dining: The food in the buffet was unacceptable in my opinion. The breakfast menu never changed, and the food they did have did was not appetizing. The breads and pastries were all stale and the eggs were rubbery. Skip the ...
My husband and I joined his family for a June 2018 cruise in southeastern Alaska on the Disney Wonder for a week of fun, with grandparents (65 years), brothers and wives (34-38 years), and kids (1-5 years). While the kids definitely got the most out of it, we all had an enjoyable time aboard.
The Disney Wonder staff catered wonderfully to our niece and nephews - almost to a fault, since there ...
My daughter talked us into it. We did enjoy it very much.
All the staff were kind, some were getting cranky by day 5 and many of their smiles and responses were forced (can't much blame them, as they do work hard).
The entertainment director, Pierre, made us feel awkward. In the beginning he was so kind and took down our room number three times and said to count on him for anything we ...
We were given this cruise as a "gift" to celebrate a milestone birthday from a relative that belongs to the Disney Vacation Club (DVC). The cruise was a great getaway for adults - from our pairing at the dining tables to just being able to have "alone time." Want to relax? Find the padded windows on deck 3 outside of Azure to read a book or nap while watching the Canadian/Alaskan nature go by. ...
This was our first cruise and we started at the top! Disney does everything top notch. The ship was just the right size that didn’t feel overwhelmingly big or too crowded. We were on the first Alaskan sail of the season: the weather was cold so no fighting for lounge chairs in the decks.
The cabin for our family of four adults was compact but surprisingly roomy. There was room for four big ...
The service and activities for kids were great. My 3 year old grand daughter enjoyed the character breakfast, meeting all the characters, and attending the Oceaneer Club. She did not want to go home. My 16 year old nephew loved the Vibes. There was fun for every age.
The money maker was in their photo packages.
Dining room food was okay. Meat was dry, pasta too thick, there were 3 ...
Imagine you're sailing on a cruise to Alaska. It's raining outside. There's no casino and it's cold on the upper deck. You've got a cranky wife and an unappreciative kid. There's hundreds of sugared-up kids excited because Mickey or Goofy is about to appear. You venture outside of your cabin only to be bombarded by "It's a Small World" or "Just a Spoon Full of Sugar."
As we sailed toward ...
We chose this cruise as our grand kids live on the West Coast and it was the only one sailing in school holidays. We had been to Alaska before so knew there would be enough "adult" interest whilst the kids enjoyed the clubs. The ship itself was a pleasant surprise, Art Deco style and many luxury features, it has been very well maintained considering it is 16 years old. (Much better than QM2 which ...
The planning was easy to do, but the Disney travel website was a bit confusing to navigate. Took some time to find what I wanted to look at. Getting the planning DVD got my kids (4 yrs old twins) interested and excited. I didn't tell them until a week before we left.
Embarkation at Vancouver was easy. Once we pulled into the passenger unloading area at Canada Place, our suitcases were ...
This was my 9th cruise, but my first time on Disney. I love the Disney brand and their commitment to family fun, but it comes at a very high price.
Embarkation in Vancouver was similar to waiting in line for a ride at Disneyland - weaving back and forth. However, it did move very quickly, even with all of the strollers. They did board by number, which eliminated a huge line to actually get ...
